Bear in mind that my view on Armageddon and the Second Coming is guided by other prophecies both inside and outside of the Bible. Nostradamus establishes a timeframe in his Epistle to Henry II, and in several of his quatrains, that indicates these final events will not happen until either 2242 or 2243 AD. The Book of Daniel and the Book of Esdras (from the Apocrypha) also both present evidence of a long era to come before the final end times arrive that many Christians have become familiar with from the likes of Hal Lindsay and others. The Book of Esdras alone prophesy some twenty emperors of a neo-imperial Europe to come after World War III.
But what if I am wrong? Or, more to the point, what if these other resources are wrong or have been misunderstood?
Then we may indeed be approaching that final period known as The Tribulation. And, if we are, this means certain individuals whose coming we are warned about in John at Patmos' Book of Revelation may be alive today.
Who might these people be?
We will limit ourselves to the best discernable choices for prophetic fulfillment based on the current world situation.
Some of these individuals also appear in other biblical prophecy, Nostradamus prophecy, Islamic prophecy, and Catholic and Old European prophecy. To the degree that they do, they may appear in brief or at length on pages devoted to these sacred visions of the future. It may also be necessary to discuss some of these other prophecies on these pages.
However, it should be understood that the people discussed here may not be the genuine article. How can they be if the end really is over 236 years in the future?
Even so, like Alexander, Antiochus Epiphanes, Julius Caesar, Caligula, Nero, Arthur, Constantine, Napoleon, Hitler and Kennedy, who many scholars feel were early versions of "the beast," those discussed on this page may also be archetypes of the figures who appear in the final book of the New Testament. Their examples can teach us what to fear, what to avoid, and what to prevent.
Most of you know that I have long resisted the idea that we are in or nearing the final seven-year Tribulation period and thus do not feel that the Second Coming of Christ is soon at hand. You also know that I believe His return will indeed one day happen, but feel that Biblical prophecy, those of Nostradamus, and various other prophecies present evidence that this will not happen for another 236 to 237 years.
Subsequently, my attitude concerning all candidates presented as Nostradamus' "third antichrist" has been that it is possible, but that none of them are the beast of Revelation, that final Antichrist who demands all the world to bow to him as a god, persecutes and punishes with death all true Christians wherever he may find them as well as anyone who does not accept his mark, so angers God that seven deadly plagues are unleashed upon the earth, and ultimately ushers in the final world war called Armageddon.

world leaders, when we all know that Scripture says the

killed. Thus, it is hard to accept the premise that this
person is continuing to rule behind the scenes like the
Wizard of Oz, whilst Christian webmasters claim
Armageddon is nearly upon us or coming in so short a time
as 2006 or 2007. How can it be that human beings have
already made a choice when it has not yet been revealed
there is a choice to be made? Well, today I am here to tell you that it is possible that many of the events of our time have been manipulated behind the scenes. |

There is a puppet master, in other words,
pulling strings -- the one person, in my
opinion, who could very soon be revealed to the
entire planet as the beast of Revelation. He is the only
candidate that makes any sense from a Biblical
perspective. The very near future shall either prove this person to be the dreaded figure the Bible warns about OR reveal him to be just another of many false messiahs. And even if he should be just another false messiah, I believe he may, like Hitler, serve as an archetype for the beast who will ultimately arrive in another two hundred and thirty years. On March 23, 2004, this puppet master was crowned "the king of peace" at a secret ceremony at the Capitol Building attended by several members of Congress -- and several members of the Christian clergy. He considers himself to be the messiah and calls himself "Lord of the Second Advent," "king of kings," and not so subtly implies he is God Himself. |
The name of this blasphemous individual is Sun Myung Moon, head of the worldwide Unification Church.
The last time I discussed Reverend Moon on this website I was virtually the only one on the Internet doing so. Not anymore. These days I am in good company.
Moon is no Messiah

More than a decade ago, the World Media Association, a front group for Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church, invited me to speak in Seoul, South Korea, at a conference on the press. At the time, I was the 36-year-old editor of the Sacramento Union, the oldest daily newspaper west of the Mississippi -- and already creating fits for the establishment U.S. media. I was cautious about going, because I had heard stories about Moon having declared himself the messiah. I was told by people inside the church that was simply a misinterpretation of his remarks.
In Seoul, participants in the conference were invited to a ballet, sponsored by Moon, in an elegant hall, built by Moon, and to listen to Moon deliver a special address.
As one of the guests of honor in South Korea, I was asked to sit on stage, along with heads of state, dignitaries and other speakers, including Arnaud de Borchgrave, the former editor of the Washington Times, Moon's heavily subsidized daily newspaper.
Just before Moon was introduced to make his remarks in Korean, an English translation was distributed to the audience and those of us onstage.
Imagine my shock, as I read along in the translation to learn that Moon was saying that night that indeed he was the messiah. I was embarrassed to find myself sitting behind this man, perhaps, even, in some small way, lending credibility to his preposterous claims. It was a lesson to me at the time on just how easy it is to be compromised.
I was reminded of this experience recently when my daily, nationally syndicated talk-radio show broke the news of Moon's "crowning" achievement at the Dirksen Senate Office Building in March. Stories followed in Salon, the Washington Post and elsewhere.
What was this coronation?
Dressed in a floor-length cape, Moon was dubbed the king of peace at a ceremony attended by several members of Congress -- and several members of the Christian clergy. "In the context of heaven's providence, I am God's ambassador, sent to earth with His full authority," Moon proclaimed. "I am sent to accomplish His command to save the world's 6 billion people, restoring them to heaven with the original goodness in which they were created."
The audacity of this event, brought to my attention by free-lance journalist John Gorenfeld, shocked people the way I was shocked more than a decade ago in Korea. But this coronation ceremony was preceded by events I consider to be even more disturbing. Judge for yourself.
What would you say if you heard that Christian ministers were being persuaded by Moon to take crosses down from their churches and toss them unceremoniously in dumpsters?
Moon says he got the idea for this campaign June 11, 2001, when lightning struck down the cross decorating the front of the Unification Theological Seminary. He considered this a supernatural, miraculous event. But I think he took the wrong meaning.
Instead of assuming, as I would, that God was issuing a warning about the use of the cross over Moon's blasphemous theology school, the self-proclaimed messiah deemed this to be a sign for him to tear down all the crosses on all the churches in America.
Moon said the cross was a symbol of Satan's victory, not God's. The Unification Church claims hundreds of churches around the country have, for whatever reason, bought into Moon's undermining of Christian scripture and tradition by making the cross a symbol of Satan's victory, not Jesus' triumph.
For example, last year, Rev. John Kingara of the Worldwide Greater Mission Church in Worcester, Mass., followed Moon's advice and removed a cross from his church, replacing it with a crown, just as Unification seminars for pastors suggest. The cross, long cherished for the role it played for believers in the remission of sin, was thrown in the dumpster.
Who knows what motivates these ministers to follow Moon? I won't speculate why so many pastors -- particularly those in economically depressed areas -- might listen to a billionaire pseudo-messiah.
But I do know this: Moon is not the messiah. I know the Messiah. And Moon is no messiah.

Dressed in a floor-length cape, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon was dubbed the king of peace at a coronation ceremony in the Dirksen Senate Office Building attended by several members of Congress. Moon is the founder of the Unification Church -- currently known as The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification.
According to columnist Bill Berkowitz, on March 23 Moon presided over the event during which he presented the "Crown of Peace" award to a number of honored guests.
Several U.S. members of Congress -- Democrats Sen. Mark Dayton of Minnesota, Rep. Danny K. Davis of Illinois, Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr. of Georgia; Republicans Rep. Roscoe G. Bartlett of Maryland, Rep. Christopher B. Cannon of Utah, and Rep. Curt Weldon of Pennsylvania -- received "Ambassadors for Peace" awards, Berkowitz wrote. There were reportedly 81 members of Congress total at the event.
"Decked-out in a campy floor-length cape, the Rev. Moon was presented with an ornate gold crown and a lifetime achievement award," wrote the columnist. "Introduced by a shofar-blowing rabbi, the reverend told the star-studded audience -- that a 'new era' had come: 'Open your hearts and receive the secrets that heaven is disclosing in this age through me.'" The religious leader, sounding like a self-proclaimed messiah, is quoted as saying: "In the context of heaven's providence, I am God's ambassador, sent to earth with His full authority. I am sent to accomplish His command to save the world's 6 billion people, restoring them to heaven with the original goodness in which they were created."
Joseph Farah, WND editor and host of Joseph Farah's WorldNetDaily RadioActive program, questioned the use of a taxpayer supported facility for a religious event. "Do you think this is an appropriate event to take place in your U.S. Capitol?" Farah asked listeners today. "Does this disturb you at all?" Callers to his program expressed concern.
"This is getting pretty scary," said Thelma, a caller from Montana. "Sounds like we're being governed by cults."
According to Berkowitz, Moon, after living in the U.S. for 34 years, plans to return to his native Korea.
Though Moon, who founded the Washington Times, is often praised by political conservatives, he says he has grand plans to help institute global governance. "Even if the Rev. Moon is threatening to leave the U.S. -- one of his long-term projects -- developing a faith-based path to peace by re-vamping the United Nations -- is still on the organization's front burner," writes Berkowitz.
"With so many other things on its plate these days it's hard to imagine the U.N. actually taking up the Rev. Moon's challenge. But then who would have imagined the Rev. Moon, in cape and crown, parading about the Dirksen Senate Office Building?" Farah pointed out the mainstream media failed to report the coronation ceremony.

Power over the entire planet has been accomplished by Moon through the election of his candidate for United Nations Secretary-General: a South Korean foreign minister who has a close affiliation with his Unification Church. The similar-sounding name of Ban Ki-Moon, although not exactly indicating a family relationship between the two men, still serves as a reminder of Sun Myung Moon's presence in the global organisation and his control over it by proxy.

UNITED NATIONS (CNN) -- The U.N. General Assembly has appointed South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon to serve as the United Nations' next secretary-general from January 1.
Ban will succeed Kofi Annan when his second five-year term expires at the end of this year.
Ban, 62, will be the world body's eighth secretary general and the first from Asia since U Thant of Burma (now Myanmar) served from 1961 to 1971.
"Mr. Ban, I am delighted that your election turned out this way -- early and orderly," Annan said after the approval Friday.
The General Assembly adopted by acclamation the resolution appointing Ban. "Surely that is the way we would wish all secretaries-general to be elected," Annan said. "I would say that the process worked well because member states were determined to achieve an early outcome, and because the winning candidate had exceptional qualifications."

Ban will oversee an organization with 92,000 peacekeepers around the world and a $5 billion annual budget. The United Nation's reputation has been tarnished by corruption scandals, and its outdated practices need reform to meet the challenges of the 21st century, AP reported.
The appointment of the South Korean official came less than a week after North Korea said it had tested a nuclear weapon, heightening tensions in the region, AP reported. The United States said Friday a preliminary finding showed evidence of radioactivity where the apparent test was thought to have been conducted.
The security council votes Saturday on whether to impose sanctions on North Korea, according to U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton.
Annan hailed Ban as "a future secretary-general who is exceptionally attuned to the sensitivities of countries and constituencies in every continent," and said he would be "a man with a truly global mind at the helm of the world's only universal organization."

(WMR) -- The Unification Church, the global enterprise of South Korean Rev. Sun Myung Moon (born Yong Myung Moon), may be attempting to take control of the United Nations through the all-but-certain election of South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon as UN Secretary General.
Foreign Minister Moon is slated to be formally elected Secretary General on October 9 by the UN Security Council. Moon has already won four straw polls by the UN Security Council and is now considered a shoo-in to replace Kofi Annan.
Some informed UN sources are concerned that Moon lists his religious affiliation as "non-denominational Christian," a code word often used by the "Moonies" for the Unification Church.
In addition, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and UN ambassador John Bolton are attempting to have former Washington Times editor Josette Sheeran Shiner become the next Executive Director of the World Food Program. Sheeran Shiner is a member of Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church. The term of the World Food Program Executive Director is five years. Shiner is currently the Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business and Agricultural Affairs.
Although Ban Ki-moon and Sun Myung Moon are not related, some UN members may sense that there is something amiss about the Bush administration's strong support for the South Korean Foreign Minister, given the close links between some Bush officials and the "Moonies." There were a few "discourage" and "no opinion" ballots cast by Security Council members on Ban Ki-moon.
Although the balloting is secret, it is believed that France and the United Kingdom are not thrilled with the Moon nomination and that Japan, a non-permanent member that holds the Security Council presidency for October, is also reportedly opposed to Moon.
Ban Ki-moon has lived in the United States for a number of years, having gone to graduate school at Harvard and serving two tours at South Korea's Washington embassy, a diplomatic mission that maintains close contacts with the Sun Myung Moon organization in Washington, DC. The Unification Church, in addition to owning the Washington Times, also owns United Press International.
Sun Myung Moon, who was excommunicated by the Korean Presbyterian church for preaching heresy, claims he is the Messiah and intends to take control of the world.
The South Korean government, which has close ties with Sun Myung Moon's organization, has used its considerable public relations machinery to convince the Security Council members to elect Ban Ki-moon as the next Secretary General. Only a veto by one of the four other permanent members -- France, United Kingdom, Russia, or China -- can derail the possibility of a Unification Church ally from becoming the next UN Secretary General.

The timing of this appointment couldn't be more suspicious. It was done whilst the world was watching elsewhere: at North Korea and Kim Jong Il's testing of a nuclear bomb. This, as we shall see shortly, is no accident since Moon, Kim, and the leadership in China have been coordinating a slowly-evolving plan to trigger World War III in the Pacific through military collaboration and nuclear terrorism.
SECRET AXIS OF EVIL: SUN MYUNG MOON, NORTH KOREA AND CHINA
A few years ago I discussed several articles by an individual going by the name of "Mars" and his coorespondents, including a film documentary they released for television under the production company name "Dark River Films" in 2000 concerning Moon's secret alliance with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il and their joint plans to use nuclear terrorism to ignite World War III -- a false Armageddon from which Moon would emerge as "saviour." Moon has warned he will unleash a terrible global war and the nuclear destruction of Christendom if we do not accept him as Christ.
It was learned at that time that Moon secretly purchased 40 submarines from Russia and presented them to Kim Jong Il as a gift. The transaction was engaged under the cover of an automobile investment by the Unification Church to North Korea. Also, according to "Mars," Kim and Moon are the harbingers of new opiums, the new religions of "Juche" under Kim (aka Son of Heaven) and "Hoon Dok Hay" under Moon (aka Christ, King of Kings); both prophesy Armageddon and their rule in its aftermath. The US cannot protect itself from Moon and Kim's overt threats "of biological and nuclear terrorism." Moon calls this "prophecy," as his God will allegedly judge the US and Japan for rejecting Moon as Christ.
As Kim Jong Il vexes his Pacific neighbours with missile and nuclear tests, threatening nuclear, chemical, biological, and conventional war with Japan, South Korea, Australia and the United States in retaliation for UN sanctions backed up by a US-Australian naval blockade, the information presented in this section should be of distressing concern to the world. Understand and know who the real enemy and architect of World War III is.

On key foreign policy issues, especially the situation on the Korean peninsula, the (Washington) Times' coverage is reflecting the views of its founder, Sun Myung Moon, who has an insidious plan to unite North and South Korea and doesn't want the Bush Administration to get in the way.
This is one of the most dangerous and volatile areas in the world today. President Bush fears that North Korea could launch another invasion of the south, where 37,000 U.S. troops are based, or even stage a nuclear attack on the U.S. He has called North Korea a member of the "Axis of Evil."
Some fear the situation is more dangerous than President Bush suggests. The film, "Sun Myung Moon and Kim Jong Il. A Military Alliance. Armageddon and the Threat of Nuclear Terrorism," was produced to highlight a close working relationship between the Unification Church leader and the communist dictator and their alleged collaboration on military matters. One analyst associated with the film suggested that Moon's followers could follow the lead of the Aum Shinrikyo cult, which released nerve gas on the Tokyo subway in March 1995, killing 12 and injuring thousands. Using its status as a religious organization and avoiding official scrutiny on that basis, it was able to assemble an impressive arsenal of bio-chemical weapons.
One of Moon's "dirty secrets," disclosed by the Washington Post on March 10, 1999, is that one of his U.S.-based companies manufactures weapons. Moon had kept the operation a closely guarded secret for several years.
The financial operations of the Moon organization continue to be shrouded in secrecy and mystery. Moon has business dealings that are far more convoluted than those of Enron ... Not surprisingly, the Washington Times has not run any stories critical of Moon's operations ...
By contrast, Gordon Thomas, a writer and commentator on intelligence matters, says that North Korea is a serious danger to America. He cites evidence of North Korean "sleeper agents" in such countries as America and Britain and points to the close relationship between Moon and North Korea. He also says North Korea acts for China:
I think we should regard Moon and his Moonies as frontline evangelists or ambassadors for the greater plans of China. North Korea is only a puppet of China. Through North Korea, China is able to export a great deal of weapons and use North Korea as a cut-out. North Korea has provided Iraq with a huge number of weapons. North Korea is a very dangerous country.
The fact that Reverend Moon has decided to throw his lot in with them is worrying. I don't quite understand how the Washington Times goes on attacking China in a sense and yet has its owner siding up to the enemies of the United States. It's a very strange situation for a newspaper to be in.
The Times, of course, is careful not to expose Moon's relationship with North Korea or China. This is the critical omission that stands out like a sore thumb.

Moon's bizarre religious speech at the Washington Times 20th anniversary celebration has rekindled interest in what he represents and what he wants to do. "The Washington Times is responsible to let the American people know about God," said Moon. What did this mean?
America was founded by people who believed in God and this belief is reflected in our founding documents. A large majority of Americans continue to believe in God.
What Moon is saying is that the Washington Times has to let people know that he, Moon, is God. This is something new indeed. He believes that Korea is God's chosen nation, Korea is the new Israel, and Korean is spoken in Heaven. In 1992, Moon set in motion a plan for the "cosmic unification" of North and South Korea. He calls this "The Unification of the Fatherland." Moon believes that Armageddon, the final battle between good and evil, will take place along the 38th parallel dividing communist North Korea from the south. In a speech about nuclear weapons in the possession of North Korea and other countries, Moon said, "America's future is greatly in question." At the same time, Moon believes he can save America and the world from Armageddon. That puts him in the convenient position of saving us from a holocaust that he or North Korea could threaten.
Moon's statements may be dismissed as the ravings of a crackpot. Yet, Christian supporters of Israel have been attacked by some commentators because their support of the Jewish state is believed to stem from their biblical belief that Armageddon will take place in the Middle East and that Christ will return to save Israel from its enemies. This view is said to welcome more upheaval and bloodshed on the ground that we can't do anything about it anyway and that God's intervention is the only salvation for Israel and the world. Moon believes the same thing - except that he is the true Christ and that Korea is the battleground for the final conflict. There are reports that a Moon-connected Japanese company bought 40 Russian submarines that were going to be sent to North Korea.
Steve Hassan, who was Assistant Director of Moon's Unification Church at its national headquarters, says Moon's objective is to control the world and establish a global theocracy. Hassan, who says that he was asked what country he wanted to run when the mission was accomplished, defected from the organization and now runs the Freedom of Mind Resource Center to help people escape cults.
The controversy over Moon is a matter of national security, not just concern about his unusual religious views. A South Korean citizen who is a U.S. permanent resident alien, Moon's relationship with North Korea, which is under a U.S. trade embargo, raises potential legal issues.
Intelligence documents publicized by reporter Robert Parry show alleged financial payments from the Moon organization to North Korean and South Korean leaders, including Kim Jong Il and Kim Dae Jung, since the 1980s. He reported, "The payments included a $3 million 'birthday present' to current communist leader Kim Jong Il and offshore payments amounting to 'several tens of million dollars' to the previous communist dictator, Kim Il Sung, the partially declassified documents said. Moon apparently was seeking a business foothold in North Korea." Parry explained that, "when North Korea was scrambling for the resources to develop missiles and other advanced weaponry, Moon was among a small group of outside businessmen quietly investing in North Korea.

Parry uses these documents in an effort to embarrass or discredit conservative Republicans who have associated with Moon. This is unfortunate because conservative Republicans should be leading the call for an investigation of Moon's North Korea connection. Yet many ignore these questionable activities because of the perception that Moon has a "pro-Republican" or conservative paper, the Washington Times ...
Take note of the fact that Moon is threatening to leave the United States very soon. There is obviously a reason he does not want to be there much longer..
SUN MYUNG MOON IN PROPHECY
Moon's own words easily reflect the many warnings about the beast found in the pages of Revelation and Daniel:
Members are to maintain a view to establishing a "unified civilisation" of the whole world, to be centred in Korea and "corresponding to that of the Roman Empire."

Most discerning Islamic scholars, however, suspect Moon to be a dajjal (an Islamic version of the antichrist) or the Dajjal himself.
Yet, one should worry about Syria, Libya, and Iran, over which Moon apparently now has much control. Syria, in particular, has the power to trigger World War III in the Middle East simply by attacking Israel. Iran's leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has regional ambitions of driving the Israelis out of Palestine and annexing the Middle East and other nearby regions into a Shi'a-led Muslim empire, with Iran at its centre as the first Islamic nuclear superpower. He has promised to reveal the identity of "the Mahdi" to the world in 2008, and it may very well be Sun Myung Moon himself. Libya is of strategic importance due to its close proximity to Nato's bases in Malta and Italy, and to the southern power centres of the EU: Italy, France, and Spain. Should a coordinated Russian-Iranian invasion of Europe take place as foretold in many prophecies, Libya will become a key military asset to the Muslim alliance in the Mediterranean.
Yes, Moon is 86 years old; but the Ayatollah Khomeini lived to be 89 -- and he began the worst stage of the Iran-Iraq war when he was 84 and threatened to overrun Iraq and the Middle East all the way to Egypt and Israel with a million men when he was 87! Being of hardy Mongol stock, and hardly at all looking his 86 years, Moon could easily live to be in his 90s or even 100. And he has a son who will succeed him and take on the sceptre of "messiah" should Sun Moon himself fail to unite the world under his spiritual rule.

Moon replied, "Jesus will be the first and eldest son, because he was the only one who came to this world as the Son of God." Seeking clarification the member then asked, "Do you mean God's eldest son, or the Master's?" (He was using the title "Master" in reference to Rev. Moon.) Moon responded, "The meaning is the same."

There are a number of quatrains that could apply to Moon if he truly is the final and terrible Antichrist. We will only discuss one here, in closing:
The "Moon monarch" here I would normally apply to the figure known as Chiren Selin (Chyren Moon), a future French monarch and emperor who may either be French President Jacques Chirac or a future hero named Henry. Yet it is strange that the name "Chiren" is missing from this quatrain. Is it possible that in this instance, Nostradamus is discussing someone else?
Rev. Moon has now been literally crowned "Moon king" ("Moon monarch").
Italy is pacified at the end of World War III and is one of the seven nations Moon has declared he counts upon to attain dominion over the world. Line two is a perfect description of Moon's goal for global unification under his own "Christian" leadership. His plan is to convince everyone that the terrible world war just fought was "Armageddon" and that he is the Second Coming of Christ. When he dies, quite possibly from a fatal head wound, he will miraculously recover in the "blessed" land of Korea. The "pirates" may be a terrorist naval fleet formed by Al Qaeda in league with the Libyan navy of Moammar Gadhafi. Although working for Moon all along, he will make it appear that he has driven the enemy away.

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- The minister has the number 666 tattooed on his arm.
But Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda is not your typical minister. De Jesus, or "Daddy" as his thousands of followers call him, does not merely pray to God: He says he is God. "The spirit that is in me is the same spirit that was in Jesus of Nazareth," de Jesus says.
De Jesus' claims of divinity have angered Christian leaders, who say he is a fake. Religious experts say he may be something much more dangerous, a cult leader who really believes he is God. "He's in their heads, he's inside the heads of those people," says Prof. Daniel Alvarez, a religion expert at Florida International University who has debated some of de Jesus' followers. "De Jesus speaks with a kind of conviction that makes me consider him more like David Koresh or Jim Jones."
Is de Jesus really a cult leader like David Koresh, who died with more than 70 of his Branch Davidian followers in a fiery end to a standoff with federal authorities, or Jim Jones, the founder of the Peoples Temple who committed mass suicide with 900 followers in 1978?
Prophets 'spoke to me'
De Jesus and his believers say their church -- "Creciendo en Gracia," Spanish for "Growing in grace" -- is misunderstood. Followers of the movement say they have proof that their minister is divine and that their church will one day soon be a major faith in the world.
But even de Jesus concedes that he is an unlikely leader of a church that claims thousands of members in more than 30 countries.
De Jesus, 61, grew up poor in Puerto Rico. He says he served stints in prison there for petty theft and says he was a heroin addict.
De Jesus says he learned he was Jesus reincarnate when he was visited in a dream by angels. "The prophets, they spoke about me. It took me time to learn that, but I am what they were expecting, what they have been expecting for 2,000 years," de Jesus says.
The church that he began building 20 years ago in Miami resembles no other: Followers have protested Christian churches in Miami and Latin America, disrupting services and smashing crosses and statues of Jesus. De Jesus preaches there is no devil and no sin. His followers, he says, literally can do no wrong in God's eyes.
The church calls itself the "Government of God on Earth" and uses a seal similar to the United States.
Doing God's work with a Lexus and Rolex
If Creciendo en Gracia is an atypical religious group, de Jesus also does not fit the mold of the average church leader. De Jesus flouts traditional vows of poverty. He says he has a church-paid salary of $136,000 but lives more lavishly than that. During an interview, he showed off a diamond-encrusted Rolex to a CNN crew and said he has three just like them. He travels in armored Lexuses and BMWs, he says, for his safety. All are gifts from his devoted followers.
And what about the tattoo of 666 on his arm?
Although it's a number usually associated with Satan, not the son of God, de Jesus says that 666 and the Antichrist are, like him, misunderstood.
The Antichrist is not the devil, de Jesus tells his congregation; he's the being who replaces Jesus on Earth. "Antichrist is the best person in the world," he says. "Antichrist means don't put your eyes on Jesus because Jesus of Nazareth wasn't a Christian. Antichrist means do not put your eyes on Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Put it on Jesus after the cross."
And de Jesus says that means him.
So far, de Jesus says that his flock hasn't been scared off by his claims of being the Antichrist. In a show of the sway he holds over the group, 30 members of his congregation Tuesday went to a tattoo parlor to have 666 also permanently etched onto their skin.
He may wield influence over them, but his followers say don't expect them to go the way of people who believed in David Koresh and Jim Jones. Just by finding de Jesus, they say, they have achieved their purpose. "If somebody tells us drink some Kool-Aid and we'll go to heaven, that's not true. We are already in heavenly places," follower Martita Roca told CNN after having 666 tattooed onto her ankle.

April 9, 2007 (11:26 PM EDT), COMPLETED April 11, 2007 (5:06 AM EDT): Like many of you, I have always been of the opinion that the beast prophesied about in the Book of Revelation and "the king of fierce countenance"/"little horn" foretold in the Book of Daniel will come from an empire based in Europe. There are many, many reasons to arrive at such a conclusion, but that would entail a few book chapters worth of explanation.
There is another view of the Book of Revelation that holds that the ten-nation empire the beast (Anti-Christ) shall reign over shall be forged out of the nations of the Middle East. The beast himself will arise from out of what was once the ancient Assyrian Empire. This region, according to one group of eschatologists, was what comprised the "king of the north" prophesied by Daniel in his eleventh chapter. Most Biblical historicists who insist that Daniel Chapter 11 was fulfilled between the reigns of Alexander the Great and the destruction of Mark Anthony and Cleopatra under Gaius Octavian Caesar (who then took the name Augustus as the first Roman emperor) considered the nation of Syria itself to be the seat of the king of the north during the Seleucid empire, whilst Egypt was quite clearly believed to be the seat of the "king of the south" during the Ptolemaic dynasty. Egypt is actually identified by name in Daniel 11 as the chief nation of the king of the south.
Thus, whosoever rules Egypt at the time of the end shall be the king of the south and whosoever rules Syria at the time of the end shall be the king of the north and the beast of Revelation.
It is said in Daniel 11:21 that a "vile person" shall attain the kingdom of the north after the death of a "raiser of taxes."
Thus, this "vile person" shall enter into Syria and take the nation by coup, overthrowing the legitimate leader. He will be of the same "royal" stock, thus he will be a relative of the leader he overthrows.
The current president of Syria is Bashar al-Assad, son of the late Syrian dictator Hafez al-Assad who reigned over the nation for 30 years. Bashar, then a practising opthamologist, took over the office of president in June 2000 following his father's death.
What few people know is that another Assad was working behind the scenes in France to grab power from Bashar in 2000 ... and still is: either from within Syria itself or from his headquarters in Marbella, Spain.
He is Bashar's uncle, Rifaat al-Assad.
To his followers he is a lifelong proponent for uniting Syria and Egypt into one state and is a staunch advocate of the Socialist Arab Baath Party. His vision, like Gamal Abdel Nasser's, is that of a unified Arab world as a single Arab nation. Assad has close ties with the PLO and the Saudi royal family. He also seeks to guarantee a lasting peace between Israel and all the Arab nations. Dr Rifaat al-Assad has received numerous achievement awards from the UK, France, the US, and other Western nations.
On his unofficial website, Dr. Assad vows he will return to Syria very soon to correct the current system of government and put an end to all internal violence, and to do so as a martyr to the people of Syria if necessary. He claims he will overthrow the current leadership of his nephew without violence or bloodshed and seeks no personal position of authority. But this comes from a man who is responsible for the genocidal killings of up to 30,000 Syrians in 1982 in a two-day campaign that leveled the city of Hama. His bloody hands makes him one of the most hated and feared men in the Arab world. Indeed, it makes him a perfect candidate to be the one Nostradamus calls "the bloody Alus."

Incidentally, the name Assad (which means "lion") was changed in the 1920s from the original family name of Wahash (which means "wild beast").
In Daniel's seventh chapter which prefaces his series of grand visions concerning the latter days and the great war that shall trigger these times, he witnesses the rise of the very same beast that St. John warns will arise from the turbulent sea in the Book of Revelations:

The belief of my coorespondent, Ivan M., is that the future ten-nation empire will arise from GAFTA (the Greater Arab Free Trade Area). Out of the 22 Arab League members, 17 signed on in 1997. They are: Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. In 2002, Vice President Dick Cheney attended a Saudi-Syrian peace conference where ten GAFTA members signed a new peace iniative with Israel. That peace initiative was revived at an Arab League summit on March 29 of this year. The foreign ministers of these ten Arab states (called the Committee for Furthering the Arab Peace Initiative) will meet in Cairo on April 18, 2007 to call on Israel to accept the peace initiative approved at the Arab League summit in Riyadh.
These ten Arab nations may well be the league which the beast shall call his power base. They are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, Tunisia, Bahrain, and Palestine. The future destruction of these same ten nations are prayed for in Psalms 83:

Now I will allow my coorrespondent, Ivan M., to take over at this point with a short article he did which will hopefully help add some flesh onto the bones of this prophecy.
The Future Anti-Christ
By Ivan M.The prophet Daniel said the Anti-christ would come from Syria, the king of the north (dan:11 v 40). Also he would be the little horn of dan:7 v 20 and he would have a stern appearance (the king of the fierce countenance dan:8 v 23). He would then sign a peace treaty with Israel for 7 years then break it after 42 months (dan:9 v 27).
I believe this man to be none other than the uncle of the present leader of Syria, Bashar al Assad and brother of the late Hafez al Assad, RIFAAT AL ASSAD, who will very soon, possibly with the help of the Bush administration, replace Bashar as the head of Syria, and become the worst despot of them all. The name Assad means in Arabic, lion of Damascus, but the name Assad was changed in the 1920s from Wahash, which means wild beast, literally the mark of the beast (rev:13 v 18). Rifaat said he would indeed sign a peace treaty with Israel if he came to power, and is responsible for one of the worst massacres to take place in Syria in 1982 in Hama in Syria when between 10,000 and 38,000 people were wiped out in a very short time. As far as I know he has now returned to his home country of Syria.
And how will the Israelis respond to this false offer of peace? They will grab it with both hands! The prophet Isaiah in isa:28 v 15 says ‘because ye have said, we have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; and the prophet Habakkuk says in hab:2 v 4 'behold his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.'
Now, as to Ivan's contention that Rifaat is indeed in Syria I am a bit confused. There is this article from 2004 that purports that Bashar's uncle returned to his native country:

Washington DC, September 9, 2004 /RPS News/ -- In a move to consolidate his powers, Baschar al-Assad allowed his uncle Rifaat al-Assad to return to Syria after having been exiled to Paris, France and Marbella, Spain for most of the nineties. Rifaat was seen in Kirdaha and a huge celebratory demonstration commemorating his return has taken place today.
Rifaat al-Assad is the brother of Hafez al-Assad, the late self-installed president of Syria.
Rifaat al-Assad is responsible for the genocidal killings of up to 30,000 Syrians in 1982 in a two-day campaign that leveled the city of Hama. His bloodied hands makes him one of the most hated men in Syria and most Syrians will view his re-instatement as an effrontery to their rights for justice and peace.
Stories prior to his arrival to kirdaha described him on his death bed. The misinformation was distributed to allow Baschar al-Assad an act of humanity. The truth is that Rifaat al-Assad was never a sick man as the Arab media described him in news stories since last week.
The problem with this is what is being said on Rifaat's unofficial website. The site is very up to date and even uses advanced flash and graphics animation. On his own site, Rifaat says he will return to Syria soon and peacefully overthrow his nephew. Therefore, how can he be in Syria since September 2004 when he is telling his followers he has yet to return to Syria?? And if he has been in Syria since September 2004, what is he waiting for?
Well, he may be waiting for the right time (especially if the Bush administration and possibly the European Union are going to be controlling the coup).
Even before Ivan M. first emailed me with his theory of Rifaat al-Assad being the beast, I had two potential dates projected for a possible overthrow of Bashar al-Assad: June 2007 or February 2008. This can be seen on 2007 (Part One). One of the three candidates I mentioned as being likely to overthrow Bashar was none other than his uncle: Rifaat al-Assad. This fact is what compelled Ivan to write me.
I have had many questions of Ivan regarding this unusual rendering of the Anti-Christ prophecies of Daniel and Revelation. In particular, one question rose above all others: what about the role of Europe, the US, Russia, Asia, Africa, etc? Will the leader of Syria really have the power to force a Briton, or a German, or a South African, or a Korean, or an American to take the mark of the beast or use the number 666?
The answer is simple: No. The prophecy of the beast of Revelation concerned "the world" that mattered most to St John: Israel and the surrounding regions, what we loosely call the Middle East and North Africa. It will be the Israelis, Turks, Kurds, and the Arabs who will be forced to take the mark of the beast or else be beheaded. Beheading was once the most common form of execution in the Arab countries, now it is hanging ... but that will change under the bloody Assad.
Does this mean the rest of the world will escape Armageddon or the wrath and judgement of the nations that shall follow with fire? No. It only means that most of the rest of the world will not suffer the persecution that shall come at the hands of the beast or be forced to wear his mark or his number. Only those bound to or unable to escape the Middle East will be forced to suffer this.
Now, in this final segment, I would like to expound a little about the impact Ivan's view of Rifaat al-Assad as the beast has on the later aspects of Revelation and on certain other prophecies ... and the consequences this will eventually have for the entire world during the final 3 1/2 years of the Anti-Christ's reign.
First, and I have mentioned this to Ivan many times, what Rifaat al-Assad has planned and what the West hopes to achieve by putting him into power sounds amazingly similar to the Islamic prophecy concerning the Sufyaani, a dreaded Arab monster who is supported by a Roman (Western) power. Not only that, but the Sufyaani also sounds disturbingly similar to the character Nostradamus named "The Arab Prince."
If it is true Rifaat al-Assad will be helped put into place by the US/EU, we must ask why. One reason, obviously, is to guarantee peace for Israel in return for a free Palestine, a guarantee he will back up with his military if needs be. But there is a more compelling reason, I believe, and all we need do is see the provocative actions and hear the lunatic and threatening words of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to begin to understand. The West seeks an effective and powerful balance against the threat posed to the region by Iran and certain other allied nations linked to terrorism and practising harsh forms of Islam like Shi'a and Sharia. Logically Assad will be made powerful and initially allowed to control at least the ten nations of GAFTA seeking peace with Israel. In return, he will become an enemy of Shi'a and Kurdish Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and the Al Qaeda network. To many people his confrontion with "the bad guys" of the region will help make the beast appear to be a great hero.
How daunting it would be to install a Sunni dictator in a stable Arab country like Syria, perhaps with a powerful military machine supplied by the West. Rifaat al-Assad might begin as a Western puppet, but end up more powerful than anyone imagined: as the dreaded Anti-Christ himself.
He will be a butcher and a monster, not only in battle with the Muslim enemies of the West and Israel, but among his own subjects in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and Arabia. This hypothetical Muslim vs Muslim confrontation between Assad and the enemies of his Syrian empire and his protectorate Israel is exactly the same as the military actions taken by the Islamic Sufyaani after he becomes leader of the Arabs. Also, like Assad plans, the Sufyaani will first unite Egypt and Syria.
The following summarises the career of the Sufyaani/beast Assad. I like to use these passages from KL's website The Future Is For Islam because it is the best chronological overview of this period. I have used work from both KL and Sheikh Moulana Say'yid Muhammed Bidre-Aalim to place all the essential material in sequence. I have also made it a bit easier to comprehend by supplying additional headings and parenthetical remarks:
Introduction to The Sufyaani
Among the signs preceding Imam Mahdi, is the appearance of the Sufyaani. The Sufyaani will emerge from the depths of Damascus before the appearance of Imam Mahdi (the Muslim messiah).
The term "Sufyaani" is a term referring to his descent from the progeny of Abu Sufyaan. The Ahadith regarding the Sufyaani specify that he is a tyrant who will spread corruption and mischief on the earth before Imam Mahdi (appears). He will be such a tyrant that he will kill the children and rip out the bellies of women. The Sufyaani will murder those from the household of the Prophet and will rule over Syria. When he hears about the Mahdi, he will send an army to seize and kill him. However the earth will swallow this army before it even reaches Imam Mahdi ...
The Sufyaani will murder the Saadaat and will rule over Egypt and Shaam (Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Syria).
Revolution in Syria: The Sufyaani Takes Control of the Government by Force
In revolt, a Sufyaani, who descends from Abu Sufyaan, and whose mother is from the tribe of Kalb (Syria and western Iraq), will come with 360 riders until he reaches Damascus. Then he will emerge, overrunning and seizing control of Syria. He will have 3 staffs in his hand, and anyone whom he strikes with them will die. After a month the tribe of Kalb will also follow him.
Conquest in Iraq
The Sufyaani will then send an army to Iraq, killing 100,000 in Az-Zawra, and also will receive the support of the Roman forces (probably America). The Sufyaani and his forces will go to Kufa and pillage it, killing the descendants of the Prophet and to the point where he kills children and rips open women. In retaliation the tribe of Qays will rise up against him, but they will be defeated, and he will slaughter them in Kurkisa. One of them will escape to Afghanistan, and then the forces of the Sufyaani will come, demanding the Afghanis.
War in the Byzantine Empire (Turkey)
During the days of the Sufyaani, the Byzantine ruler will be at war with one Christian faction (Russia) and will be allied with the other Christian faction (EU). Thus the warring Christian faction will run over Qustuntuniyyah (Istanbul), and will occupy it. The Byzantine ruler will flee and go to Shaam. The Muslim army with the aid of the friendly Christian party will wage war against the enemy Christian party, and will be victorious.
A person from the friendly Christian party (EU) will thus announce that "because of the cross, victory was gained", and in the name of the cross we won. On hearing this, a person from the Muslim army will assault this Christian person and will say no "Islaam was victorious and because of Islaam victory was gained".
As a result of this incident, war will break out between the Muslims and the friendly Christian party. The Muslim leader will be martyred and the Christians will take over Shaam. Thereafter, the two Christian parties (EU and Russia) will make peace, and the remaining Muslims will migrate to Madinah. The Christian rule will extend almost up to Khaiber, which is to the north of Madinah.
War Against Afghanistan and Iran, Pillage of Saudi Arabia
Then an army carrying black banners will come, and at their front is a youth from the tribe of Tamim named Shuayb son of Salih, along with a Hashimite. They will engage the forces of the Sufyaani at the Gate of Istakhr (in Southern Iran) and will defeat them, however, the riders will escape. The Afghanis, after suffering from the battle, will demand the Mahdi out of necessity.
Then an army of the Sufyaani will go to Medina, and pillage it for 3 days, and those who escape will flee to Mecca. Several men from the Quraysh will escape to Istanbul and the Sufyaani will send to the leader of the Romans (now in control of Turkey) who returns them to the Sufyaani and he slits their throats together with their followers.
It is important to note that the Sufyaani is only able to conquer Iraq: he fails to conquer Iran, Afghanistan, and Saudi Arabia and withdraws back to the Levant. However he holds Iran and Afghanistan at bay a number of times according to another hadeeth not mentioned above. Thus, this part of Islamic prophecy is difficult to ignore even if what happens after the Sufyaani's death later turns out to be false and in opposition to Christian prophecy. We should therefore heed Islam's Sufyaani prophecy, I believe, since it provides important information about what the EU and US may be planning after they have helped Rifaat al-Assad overthrow Bashar's government and installed Uncle Rifaat as Syria's president and as a super-Nasser: "the Arab Prince" Nasser (and to some extent Saddam Hussein) always aspired to be, but failed. So I would say the Sufyaani = the Arab Prince, and that the US and EU are planning to make Rifaat al-Assad = the Arab Prince.
One other aspect of Islamic prophecy that follows the reign of the Sufyaani that strongly parallels the Book of Revelation is the figure known as the Dajjal. This person will be an European Jew and will work miracles just like the false prophet. The difference is that the Dajjal reigns over the entire planet after the death of the beast-like Sufyaani, whereas the false prophet and beast reign together at the same time.
So here we begin to see where two similar prophecies begin to demonstrate their differences. We have two figures who are the same, indeed the Muslims call the Dajjal "the false prophet" at first, yet the scenarios each appears in are in conflict. Even so, in all fairness, although the Dajjal is eventually called "the Anti-Christ" by the Muslims, there is no reason we cannot consider both the beast and false prophet each as "the Anti-Christ," for both of them indeed are. One may well even ask which figure it will ultimately be who will sit in the rebuilt temple of Jerusalem and proclaim himself God: the beast or false prophet?
I stated earlier that most of the rest of the world will not suffer the persecution that shall come at the hands of the beast or be forced to wear his mark or his number. However, there shall be one nation that will suffer the ultimate persecution at the hands of Rifaat al-Assad: the nation known as Mystery, Babylon ... the United States of America!
Rev 17:3 I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 and upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH ...
Rev 17:12 The ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast ... 16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Rev 18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Thus, the beast and his ten "knights" (co-regents) shall personally give the order for the nuclear destruction of the greatest trading nation, economic powerhouse, and cultural influence in the entire world: America. It is ironic, because it is possible that the US will be one of the suppliers of nuclear weapons to the beast.
And what of the other great nations of the world?
Ezekiel's prophecy tells us Iran (Persia), Libya and Sudan (what is named Ethiopia is actually Sudan) will be allied with Russia (Gog, land of Magog) against Israel, suggesting to me that after Egypt becomes part of Assad's empire, Libya will become the new seat of the "king of the south." It supports the notion too that Iran will not be allied with the beast but an enemy (related instead with "the kings of the East") ...
Also, if we examine Nostradamus' Epistle to Henry II, it becomes apparent that this attack will not only be carried out against Israel, but also against the Arab nations of the Middle East, for there Nostradamus links the fate of Israel with that of her neighbours.
When one examines the current scene it makes sense. It is the Shi'a states like Iran and southern Iraq that the Sunnis are preparing to go to war with.
The Arabian peninsula reacts with shock when the Russian-led coalition against Israel and the Arabs is launched:
It appears that the Shiites will take yet another opportunity to war with Sunni Arabs, allying with the powerful northern nations within Russia and the former Soviet Union. Note some of the nations allied with Russia: Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Not only are they not Arab, but collectively they are the stronghold of everything that GAFTA is opposed to.
Thus, it is true that at the end of Assad's reign, the king of the north (Russia) will come against him like a whirlwind, the king of the south (Libyan-led Africa) shall push at him, and he will hear evil tidings from the east (Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and others, all led by the one the Muslims will call "the Mahdi"). If this is true, Rifaat al-Assad will be destroyed during the war of Gog, land of Magog, and that war will also be the Battle of Armageddon.
In closing, this is all a big gigantic IF. It means accepting that Rifaat al-Assad is the beast of Revelation and that the ten-nation empire will be in the Middle East and not in Europe. It means accepting the complete fulfillment of Revelation, including the Tribulation, the reign of the beast and false prophet, the Battle of Armageddon, and the Second Coming of Christ, will all occur seven years after Rifaat al-Assad comes to power in Syria. If Assad comes to power in 2007 or 2008 that means the end of human history will arrive in 2014 or 2015.
I am always ready to accept the possibility of a near term fulfillment of all biblical end-time prophecy, whether the beast is a blasphemous globalist false messiah like the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, an athiestic Hitlerian figure in control of Europe, or a secular, hypocritical brute claiming Islam as his religion standing at the helm of a super pan-Arab state.
However, again I must warn: there are many prophecies that collectively indicate we have a much longer future ahead of us than what most Christian eschatologists would have us believe. If Nostradamus is to be believed history may continue to be made until the year 2242 or 2243. If certain Catholic eschatologists are correct, the time of the beast and false prophet are a few hundred years later in the future than that.
Thus, in my humble opinion, one must be prepared for anything: short-term or long-term. But whatever shall be, do not abandon hope or faith, and live your life as though you will be here for the full measure ... you just might!

May 11, 2007 (6:30 AM EDT): Last year around this time, with the aid of material from Ivan M., I began promoting the view that, at the very least, a "layered" structuring of "the beast" of Revelation would find its core in a Middle Eastern dictator ... one who would ruthlessly punish the Shi'as of Iran and Iraq, Hezbollah, and Al Qaeda and Palestinian terrorists in return for assuring Israel a comprehensive peace ... one who quite easily would be able to travel the short distance to the rebuilt Third Temple in Jerusalem and proclaim himself as God. In turn, his brutal and bloody policy would extend further to the kingdoms of the West where increasingly more powerful world leaders in the heirarchy of "the beast" would transfer more and more of their power towards their Arab representative whilst, in turn, his dictates became the coin of their dark global realm. Thus, if the beast is an onion, then Dr. Rifaat al-Assad may well be at its heart.

| As civil war enters its fifth day in Lebanon, one should not forget that this concerted effort on the part of Hezbollah and Syrian troops to take power in that country is but one step away from destabilising Syria also, paving the way for a ruthless and powerful Western-backed dictator to replace the vacillating weakness of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. One should not underestimate Syria's potential for creating havoc on a whim by using some of the militant groups it actively supports: such as Hezbollah and Fatah al-Islam in Lebanon, or Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Palestinian territories.
From the looks of it, and the sounds later (I note he uses the word 'kafir', which means 'infidel' or 'unbeliever', quite angrily in one place), I would guess that uncle Rifaat may be planning on a coup to overthrow his nephew Bashar this winter or spring. That is the feeling I get. He appeared impatient and angry in places near the end of the interview.
Despite the fact that I remain somewhat Euro-centred in my views does not in any way mean that I reject a more Middle Eastern centred view of Revelation/Daniel. I can certainly find support in other prophecies for such views. I still, however, wonder about the possibility that there may be a layering effect here where Rifaat al-Assad in the role of the beast and the proposed 'King of Israel,' Rabbi Yosef Dayan in the role of the false prophet, are at the core of endtime prophecy that networks outwards to include support and interdependence from figures as dark and sinister as they on a more global level as well. Evidence that there is a Satanic worshipping Iluminati/NWO is quite strong, after all.
February 2008 was the second vector for Rifaat to attempt an overthrow of Bashar and remains active for the remainder of the year. The above YouTube video and the following one, along with the ongoing violence in Lebanon today, seem to support the idea that such a coup may be getting closer.

Ivan M: The thing that I notice about Rifaat al-Assad (in his photos), is his stern look (the king of the fierce counternance) Dan:8v23 and of course he is from Syria (The king of the North) Dan:11v40.
Bashar looks as scary as a dead sheep, not to mention the blood bath that happened in Hama in Syria in 1982 all by the bloody hands of dear old uncle Rifaat. Nothing can happen until he arrives on the political scene, he is pivotal to everything, Dayan and the building of the 3rd Temple must then follow as well as the rest of the book of Revelation and the return of Wormwood (Nibiru). Although he signs a peace treaty with Israel for 7 years, Dan:9v27 the whole thing lasts only 42 months in total, so we can only wait and see if the Mayans have got their dates right for 2012 ... up to now they have been spot on, but let's wait and see.
The one thing that really showed me that we are in the 'end of days' is the recent news of the rise of the neo-nazi's in Israel (thats right, you heard right) ... everything has been turned on its head.
The EU has let in another 9 members (from 2004) which is causing social unrest because of the job situation in England, Britain has one of the biggest numbers of moslems in Europe, who are treated very well and yet Britain has become a hotbed for radical islam, (7/7) If you get attacked in England by someone, your attacker can sue you and now children are killing children with guns!!
So I welcome the signs of the 17 members of Gafta on the horizon (including the inner 10 members) knowing that Rifaat is on the horizon (proving that Jesus Christ is just behind him), and the rumblings on about the temple (by the way the Anti-christ signs a treaty for 7 years, but it only lasts for 42 months).

So the time scale is 3 1/2 years Dan:9 v27 not 7, therfore we're still very much in the 2012/2013 time scale, on top of that the Mayans up to this point got it spot on with their calender in the past, why would it be wrong now ? ... and people are coming around to the idea that the prophet Daniel was referring to the year 2012/1335.
