NEW PREDICTION: 10/28/10 -- How it will be destroyed is not known. Although it may be due to an intentional act, such as a fire set by human hands, it is more than likely that it will an earthquake that will bring about its demolition in August 2011. This vector is only one month removed from the massive July earthquake calculated in a prediction above for Israel and the West Bank.

The Great
Midwest Flood of 2011 Will Have Its Beginnings
in Events That Occur in July 2010

NEW PREDICTION: 12/24/09, PRESENTATION POSTED: 6/23/10 -- This prediction has now been posted twice: first on the 2010 (Part Four) page and now on this page. The prediction is fairly simple: flooding from various causes will flood the entire Midwest beginning in July 2010, and continue to do so throughout the year and through to August 2011. CHRONIC FLOODWATERS will not recede, leading to a great watery divide when the Mississippi, Missouri, and other rivers overflow their banks and water spreads out for hundreds of miles in either direction, effectively splitting the mainland US into two from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico. Large ships and various seafaring and lake-faring vessels will actually be able to navigate the waters of the great Midwest Divide for a number of years.
Here is Part Two of the "Great Midwest Flood of 2011": We move from the record-breaking Mississippi River flooding to the historic swelling of the Missouri River ... overall flooding is now much worse than 1993 ... the neighbouring Souris River has now surpassed the 130-year flood level record ...

are not many recent news videos of the Missouri River
flooding available for embedding on websites. Most have
either disabled embedding or else only make it possible

strange and troubling. Is this part of a government
programme to try to "black out" as much of the
news as possible concerning the badly flooded Midwest?

people are saying?). They cannot censor photos, however. Water filling 2,500 homes in Minot as river rises By DAVE KOLPACK, Associated Press Dave Kolpack, Associated Press Fri Jun 24, 5:32 pm ET
MINOT, N.D. The Souris River's full weight hit Minot on Friday, swamping an estimated 2,500 homes as it soared nearly 4 feet in less than a day and overwhelmed the city's levees. City officials said they expected more than 4,000 homes to be flooded by day's end. More than a quarter of the city's 40,000 residents evacuated earlier this week, packing any belongings they hoped to save into cars, trucks and trailers. "The river's coming up rapidly," Mayor Curt Zimbelman said. "It's dangerous and we need to stay away." Fed by
heavy rains upstream and dam releases that have
accelerated in recent The predicted crest was lowered a foot based on new modeling by the National Weather Service, but it was little consolation in Minot. "This has been a very trying time for our community," Zimbelman said. "It's emotionally draining for all of us." As they had the past two days, emergency officials focused on protecting water and sewer systems to avoid the need for more evacuations. They were confident about the water system, but a little less so about the sewer treatment plant. It had been sandbagged as high as possible. Also of concern was the Broadway Bridge, a key north-south route. Levees protecting the northern approach were being raised, but Army Corps of Engineers Lt. Col. Kendall Bergmann said it was touch and go. The levee work also protected the campus of nearby Minot State University.
Members of the state's congressional delegation pressed for a federal emergency declaration making people eligible for individual assistance, a step they said was needed for the Federal Emergency Management Agency to set up transitional housing centers. Sen. John
Hoeven said a helicopter flight over the Souris valley
showed damage Deputy auditor Cindy Bader estimated Friday that more than half of the Burlington's 1,000 residents had left to escape the rising Souris River. Burlington's city hall, school and police and fire departments appeared safe, but some homes in the evacuation zone had water up to their first floors and higher. In one neighborhood, the tops of two traffic signs barely peeked above the brown, brackish water, which reached just beneath the eaves of two nearby houses. Wayne Walter, a Burlington city councilman and truck driver for a snack food company, said residents were stunned by the river's rapid rise. "When we went to bed last night, and when we got up this morning, it was a big difference," Walter said Friday. "Down by the dikes, we saw it just trickling over (Thursday night). This morning, everything was gone." Walter said he lived across the street from the evacuation area, and the Souris was still about 4 feet from his own home. "Right now, we're staying there, but we've got the camper packed," he said. "They tell us to leave, we're gone."
Back in Minot, a car parked near the Broadway Bridge was dry Friday morning but submerged by midday. Nearby, about a half-dozen gophers found themselves stranded in a small and shrinking dry patch. Furniture store workers cheered as one of the gophers swam 20 yards to safety. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service launched four boats to patrol flooded neighborhoods and respond to 911 calls. City officials said no injuries or incidents had been reported by Friday afternoon. The evacuation zone was empty except for emergency officials and some geese, who paddled in about 5 feet of water washing down the streets. George Moe, 63, whose house was about a block from the water's edge, returned briefly Friday to pick up some keys. Moe said the only thing left in his house was the mounted head of an antelope shot by his wife, who died about three years ago. Moe worried about the home he's lived in for four decades and the shop where he works as a mechanic; it was taking on water and he wasn't sure he'd have a job after the flood. "I hate to see something go to hell after 40 years," he said. "There ain't much you can do." Missouri River cresting higher than 1993 flood levels Kansas City Star Thursday, Jun. 23, 2011 - 1:29 pm
The Missouri River hit historic highs around northwest Missouri on Wednesday as officials prepared to unleash even more water into the area. National Weather Service measurements taken near Big Lake and Phelps City, both about two hours northwest of Kansas City, showed crests beating every mark on record even 1993s peaks. Missouri River water will remain dangerously high for the foreseeable future, said Col. Anthony Hoffman of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City office. Residents in Holt County in northwest Missouri are already facing advancing floodwaters, which have defeated at least one levee there and are nearing the tops of others. Meanwhile, Army Corps officials slowly opened up the Gavins Point Dam in South Dakota to release even more water downstream into the Missouri River to relieve overwhelmed reservoirs in northern states. Gavins Point is expected to release 160,000 cubic feet of water per second starting today. The amount of water now shooting through Gavins Point has led the Army Corps to look for contractors to help protect the dams shoreline immediately downstream, said David Becker, a project manager for the dam. He said there was no threat to the dams flood-fighting functions. In Craig, Mo., one city official estimated Wednesday that the town was 80 percent evacuated and said workers were erecting new levees to fight the advancing floodwaters. City disaster coordinator Terry Eaton had said Tuesday that the city felt neglected by state and federal officials except for Sen. Roy Blunts office, but that changed Wednesday. The staffs of Rep. Sam Graves, Sen. Claire McCaskill and the U.S. Department of Agriculture called to check in. He said that he was thankful but that the worst would still be ahead. When this is over, thats when were really going to need help, and I hope theyre still there, Eaton said. Eaton said he was also overwhelmed by an offer of assistance from the Iowa Tribe in nearby White Cloud, Kan. North Dakota city evacuates as record flood imminent Wed Jun 22, 2011 5:22pm EDT
MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - The rapidly rising Souris River poured over flood defenses in Minot, North Dakota on Wednesday, overwhelming efforts to delay the deluge and forcing immediate evacuation of thousands of residents. City officials had ordered a mandatory evacuation of a quarter of North Dakota's fourth largest city, but the massive water flows from heavy rains in Canada hastened the evacuation by about five hours as defenses began to fail. Up to 12,000 residents live in areas expected to be swamped by floodwaters projected to smash a 130-year-old record by up to 5 feet. Emergency sirens sounded about 1 p.m. indicating that water was flowing over levees in flood-threatened areas. "We are trying to patch up as many holes as we can to give people as much time as we possibly can to get them out safely," said Dean Lenertz, a Minot Fire Department captain and spokesman. The Souris River has already reached roughly the same level at the Broadway Bridge that it had in the 1969 flood local residents used as a benchmark for evacuation. It is projected to beat that mark by up to 8 feet. The National Guard found "several areas of concern" in the morning, forcing the earlier evacuation. Officials had warned residents of the possibility and had urged them to map out a direct route to higher ground if the warning sirens sounded. Heavy rains over the past six weeks have swelled Canadian reservoirs in the Souris River basin, forcing unprecedented water releases. In turn, U.S. officials must release water from the Lake Darling Dam above Minot at a rate more than double what the recently fortified protections can bear. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started building temporary levees in Minot in April, spokeswoman Shannon Bauer said. "We have raised them three or four times, but there is just not enough time to raise them any higher," Bauer said in a telephone interview. "Also, they are saturated. If you add more material to them they won't last." As many as 5,000 buildings in Minot are threatened by the flooding that could keep the area inundated for two weeks or more, officials said. A National Weather Service flash flood warning Wednesday extended from Burlington, through Minot and Logan and Sawyer. The massive flooding on the Souris River, which flows into the Red River basin, was the latest problem as flooding threatens communities from Montana through Missouri. The swelling Missouri River threatens the North Dakota capital of Bismarck, the South Dakota capital of Pierre and other communities for hundreds of miles downstream. North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple had thanked residents in the Bismarck area for offering surplus sandbags and other aid to Minot. "I never thought we could possibly have anything even coming close to what is happening in Bismarck-Mandan this year ...," Dalrymple told reporters in a briefing. "There will be a lot of water in the city."
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to step up releases from the Lake Darling Dam and to 15,000 cubic feet per second on Thursday. Flood defenses in Minot were rated to perhaps 9,500 cubic feet per second, officials have said. The Corps expects peak releases to reach about 20,000 cubic feet per second by late June and hold there for up to six days before a gradual reduction back to below 8,000 cubic feet per second over five days. Amtrak suspended Empire Builder service Tuesday in part of Minnesota, North Dakota and eastern Montana due to flooding. Heavy rains added to woes across the Missouri River basin from Montana through Missouri earlier this week and forced federal officials to adjust planned water release rates from some of its six reservoirs on the Upper Missouri River. The Corps plans to reduce some releases to allow flows from tributaries to pass, but will increase the expected maximum at the key Gavins Point Dam on the South Dakota-Nebraska border. Rates already are roughly double the previous record. The Missouri River runs freely from Gavins Point for more than 800 miles to the Mississippi River near St. Louis, making the releases from the dam a focus for downstream residents. The Corps plans to increase water releases at Gavins Point to 155,000 cubic feet per second on Wednesday and to 160,000 on Thursday. It plans to hold peak releases at least through mid-August. Levee failures have forced mandatory evacuations of several towns near the Missouri River and the heavy rains and increased releases added to local concerns. Residents
in the village of Bigelow on Wednesday were among the
latest mandatory evacuations in Holt County, Missouri,
due to Missouri River levee failures or expected
failures. The village of 30 people was being evacuated

River flooding: Residents build homemade dams to saves
houses Islands in the stream: The extraordinary homemade dams holding back theMississippi as desperate residents try to save their homes Mail Online 9:23 PM on 19th May 2011
We've all undertaken home improvements but residents in flood-stricken Mississippi have had to embark on major construction projects just to protect their houses and livelihoods. Homes in Vicksburg are all situated along the Yazoo River, a tributary of the overflowing Mississippi River, and their owners have surrounded themselves with tons of earth and sand. With questions over whether the main levees that protect the area from floods would hold, farmers took no chances and have so far saved their homes and crops from destruction. The flooding, which has been ongoing since the last week of April, is expected to reach its peak in Vicksburg tomorrow. However, temporary measures have not worked for everyone.
The flooding claimed its first life today, after an elderly man slipped while clinging to a fence and drowned before authorities could come to his aid. Two firefighters on a boat patrol on Wednesday spotted Walter Cook, 69, holding on to the fence in chest-deep water. By the time they reached him, Cook was floating in the water. The elderly man died overnight at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg of 'hypoxic brain injury due to drowning,' the coroner stated. Hypoxia is an abnormal condition resulting from a decrease in the oxygen supplied to or utilised by body tissue.
Vicksburg has seen the worst of the floods with the Mississippi River's height swelling to 56.3 feet at its highest point, eclipsing the record set in 1927. Employees at Dirt Works, Inc, a cement production business in South Vicksburg, built a makeshift levee to protect the business but it burst on Monday. The Yazoo River's Backwater Levee connects with the main Mississippi River levee, and with the Mississippi River overflowing the Yazoo River has been forced to top its banks where they meet, near Vicksburg. With heavy rains having left the ground saturated there has been widespread flooding along three million acres of farmland from Illinois to Louisiana along the Mississippi. Around 15 miles of the Mississippi River, which had been closed since Tuesday, has now been reopened with the region and the nation absorbing huge financial losses from the closure.
Some 600 boats use the river every day, transporting 500m tons of cargo, keeping the river closed for any length of time would potentially cripple local industries and dent the American economy. Economic experts had warned earlier this week that the closure of the river could cost $300m a day. The 15-mile stretch at Natchez in Vicksburg had been closed because waters were near the very top of the levee and it was feared wake from passing ships may cause the levee to breach. But on Wednesday, forecasters lowered their expectation for how high floodwaters will get. They are now predicting that the Mississippi River will crest at Vicksburg at 57. 1 feet tomorrow, lower than recent predictions, and that if the water does go over the Yazoo Backwater Levee, it will be only a trickle.
Record flooding to linger in Mississippi city May 19, 2011 -- Updated 0942 GMT (1742 HKT)
Vicksburg, Mississippi (CNN) -- The flood-swollen Mississippi River held at historic levels at Vicksburg early Thursday -- a status it's not expected to relinquish for days. Hitting its expected peak of 57.1 feet hours ahead of the original forecast, the National Weather Service predicts the crest will hold through at least Saturday morning. "Residents who live along the river need to keep an eye out and be vigilant," said Marty Pope, a senior hydrologist with the weather service's Jackson, Mississippi office. "We're not going to fall to the kind of levels we got to during the large 2008 flood until early June, and won't fall below flood stage until mid-to-late June."
The river, initially forecast to crest at Vicksburg Thursday morning, began cresting ahead of schedule Wednesday night probably because an old levee system in Greenville, Mississippi, was breached last Friday and spread the flood's flow, Pope said. The Mississippi is more than 14 feet above flood stage at Vicksburg and more than a foot over the record set in the city in 1927 ... Louisiana residents evacuate as spillway fills lowlands May 16, 2011 -- Updated 2339 GMT (0739 HKT) Butte La Rose, Louisiana (CNN) -- Unleashed by its U.S. Army minders, the Mississippi River poured across Louisiana lowlands Monday on its way to inundate thousands of homes and businesses as the Corps of Engineers fights to spare Baton Rouge and New Orleans. "Hope you appreciate this Baton Rouge. You're welcome," read one sign posted outside a home in the path of the floodwater. St. Martin Parish President Guy Cormier said about three-quarters of his constituents' homes are expected to suffer water damage after the weekend opening of the Morganza Spillway by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The controlled release of water from the swollen Mississippi has lowered projected flood levels for cities downstream -- but the lowered crests are little consolation to those living along the Atchafalaya River basin, where the water is being diverted. "It just tears my heart up to know that these people's lives are fixing to change," Cormier said. And Krotz Springs, about 20 miles down the Atchafalaya, Mayor Carroll Snyder told CNN that workers are scrambling to put together a temporary levee to protect about 240 homes on the south side of town. "They're not happy with it, but it's something that we've been knowing for quite some time -- that it was inevitable, that it would have to be opened," Snyder said. "They've come to deal with it." ...
The flood, the most significant in the lower Mississippi River valley since at least 1937, has affected nine states: Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Across the South and lower Midwest, floodwaters have already covered about 3 million acres of farmland, eroding for many farmers what could have been a profitable year for corn, wheat, rice and cotton, officials said. As many as 22 cities and communities where river levels are monitored by the U.S. government remain flooded, some of them weeks after both the Mississippi and Ohio rivers climbed out of their banks. Six days after the Mississippi River crested at Memphis, Tennessee, the water remains 11 feet above flood stage, according to the National Weather Service. President Barack Obama spent about 35 minutes privately speaking with flood victims and responders during a visit to Memphis on Monday, according to Press Secretary Jay Carney. The swollen knot in the river is currently passing through Louisiana, where residents have packed up their valuables and made last-ditch efforts to place sandbags and makeshift levees outside their homes. "I have never experienced anything like this in my life," Brett Ansley, 24, said Sunday as he was hitching up his trailer home in Krotz Springs to move it to higher ground. "It's crazy. It's unreal." When the Corps of Engineers opened two gates in the Morganza Spillway on Saturday, it was the first time in almost 40 years any of the 125 bays had been opened. The Corps opened seven more gates on Sunday, according to agency spokesman Ricky Boyett, and two more were opened at midday Monday .... Mississippi River Flooding Reaching Historic Levels The Huffington Post 05/11/11 08:53 PM ET In one of the worst cases of flooding since the Great Depression, the bulging, swollen Mississippi River is overflowing in record proportions, blanketing thousands of square miles across Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi, negatively impacting the environment, and causing billions of dollars in damage. After weeks of intense rainfall, the water level is breaking records across Mississippi. In Natchez, Miss., the water now stands at 58.3 feet, shattering the 1937 watermark of 53.04 feet. And the National Weather Service says that the flooding is just getting started. While residents scramble to reach higher ground, the rest of the country has focused on the economic and environmental impacts of this last round of severe weather, which comes in the wake the devastating tornadoes that swept the Southeast two weeks ago. The water is flooding some of the most fertile areas in the country, so damages to agriculture alone could easily top $2 billion, according to estimates by economist John Michael Riley, a professor in the department of agricultural economics at Mississippi State University. Crop lost estimates are definitely around $800 million for Mississippi alone, Riley said. To that $800 million, Riley added another $500 million in estimated losses in Arkansas, and several hundred million more caused by flooding in Louisiana, Missouri and farmland north of Memphis in Tennessee. But agricultural losses could just be the tip of the iceberg. Homes and business are being damaged, and there are all the industries that feed into agriculture. There are going to be far reaching losses, Riley said. So $2 billion is probably just a starting point in terms of overall, everything put together. River casinos in Mississippi are also being closed, which could cost the state $12 million a month in state and local tax revenue, according to Jon Moen, chair of the economics department at the University of Mississippi. While it is too early to estimate the economic impact of structural losses, Sally Williams from the Mississippi Development Authority said the overall cost will depend heavily on whether the levees ultimately hold. It totally depends on what areas might be affected, Williams said. The levees could breach and we could have more flooding as a result of that, but the levees havent been breached yet. Even with the majority of the levees intact, about 1,300 homes in Memphis were affected, and between 600-800 homes in Mississippi may be at risk, said Moen.
The total damages of the Mississippi flood of 1927, known simply as the Great Flood, cost a total of $230 million -- the equivalent of $2.8 billion today -- although there was far less infrastructure and agriculture in place at the time. In anticipation of increased flooding, health officials are quick to emphasize the obvious, but important, point: Stay away from the water for environmental reasons. The river is slowly spreading across millions of acres of farmlands that contain pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals. The sheer amount of water is diluting the concentration of these toxic chemicals, but the Mississippi State Department of Health still note that the water could carry disease, especially tetanus. Increased levels of E. coli are also of concern, because the bacteria can be an indicator for harmful pathogens that may cause illness. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is monitoring the levels weekly. So far, the agency has found that the states lakes do not have dangerously elevated concentrations of E. coli, except in Cypress Creek, which has a history of pollution ... Miss. town could be wiped off map by flood Wednesday, May 11, 2011 (CBS News) On the bloated Mississippi River, the unincorporated town of Tunica Cutoff, Miss., sits an hour's drive south of Memphis. There was a sense of relief after the river crested in the music city Monday, but it next took aim at the fertile Mississippi Delta, leaving Tunica Cutoff residents wondering if they'll have a community to return to when the water recedes. CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann reports that there are about 300 homes in Tunica Cutoff, and they have all been flooded. Other swamped communities may rebuild, but Tunica Cutoff may not. New housing codes mandate raising new homes above the 100-year flood plain. Most victims in Tunica had no flood insurance, and couldn't afford raising their homes. So here's their worry: Tunica Cutoff could be gone for good, flooded into history.
Tunica County, which contains the unincorporated Tunica Cutoff community, has little more than 10,000 residents, and a median family income of around $30,000, about half the national average, according to Census estimates. It is also about 70 percent black, whereas the national average is around 12 percent ... River flooding begins to "wrap arms" around Memphis Sat May 7, 2011 6:40pm EDT
MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Reuters) - Memphis area residents were warned on Saturday that the Mississippi River was gradually starting to "wrap its arms" around the city and rise to record levels as flooding moves south. "It's a pretty day here, and people get a false sense of security," said Steve Shular, public affairs officer for the Shelby County Office of Preparedness. "The mighty Mississippi is starting to wrap its arms around us here in Memphis." Nearly 3,000 properties are expected to be threatened. Rising water flooded 25 mobile homes in north Memphis Saturday morning. There were 367 people in shelters in Shelby County Saturday. "Our community is facing what could be a large-scale disaster," said Shelby County Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, Jr., in a statement. Water has covered Riverside Drive and is creeping up Beale Street, although below the level of businesses and residences. Most of downtown Memphis is on a bluff, so landmarks like historic Sun Studio, where music legends Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash got their starts, were not seeing flooding. Tour guide Jake Fly said people north and south of the city are "really feeling it." "We're all hoping this river is going to crest soon, man," said Fly. "Man, it's something to see." The National Weather Service forecast that the river will crest Wednesday in Memphis at 48 feet, just under the 1937 record. No significant rain is forecast for the next few days in the area. The weather service expects record crests in Mississippi at Vicksburg on May 20 and Natchez on May 22. No deaths or injuries have been reported in the Memphis flooding, but the spectacle has drawn sightseers -- an activity being discouraged by emergency officials. "Most of the tourists weren't trying to visit the clubs on Beale Street, but they were trying to touch the water," said Joseph Braslow, 20, son of one of the owners of A. Schwab Dry Goods on Beale Street. Further north in Missouri, the river was cresting Saturday afternoon at Caruthersville, said Ryan Husted, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Memphis. New Madrid, Missouri and Tiptonville, Tenn. crested at 48.35 Saturday and levels are falling. The U.S. Coast Guard closed a portion of the Ohio River Saturday. The Coast Guard closed the Mississippi at Caruthersville briefly Friday. Shular said a major concern is flooding along the tributaries of the Mississippi. These smaller streams and rivers usually flow into the larger river, but are "hitting a brick wall" and backing up. In Arkansas, a portion of Interstate 40, a major national road artery for trucking, remained closed on Saturday due to flood waters. In the state of Mississippi, over 2,000 residents will have to evacuate as the river continues to rise, according to Jeff Rent, director for external affairs for the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency. "It will be much higher" than 2,000, Rent said. "There just does not seem to be an end to these emergencies lately." A snowy winter spawned near-record crests on the Upper Mississippi this year that reached southern Illinois at about the same time as heavy rain swelled the Ohio River. The resulting flows have threatened to overwhelm the intricate flood levee system, prompting the U.S. government to open a Missouri floodway for the first time since 1937 to relieve pressure. U.S. officials are expected to activate three floodways this year for the first time in history. The U.S. government blew a hole in the Birds Point levee last Monday, flooding Missouri farmland to save some Illinois and Kentucky towns. The U.S. plans to open the Bonnet Carre Spillway 28 miles north of New Orleans on Monday to relieve pressure on the city by diverting some of the flow to Lake Pontchartrain. It also could open the Morganza Spillway farther north by Thursday. This year's flooding is set to eclipse numerous crest records set mainly in 1927 and 1937. The Great Flood of 1927 swelled the Lower Mississippi to 80 miles wide in some parts, caused up to 1,000 deaths by some estimates and drove more than 600,000 people from their homes. Since 1927, levees have been raised and constructed with different methods, dozens of reservoirs have been added across the basin and floodways have been added. Mississippi River May Stay Above Flood Level Into June -- Flooding is already breaking high-water records that have stood since the 1930s NPR May 6, 2011
While the Mississippi River is expected to crest near Memphis by the middle of next week, officials there are warning "that water could remain above flood level through the first of June," local WMC-TV reports. The Commercial Appeal writes this morning that "despite all efforts to hold it back, the Mississippi River burst through a temporary levee and submerged a Downtown-area airport Thursday before spilling onto Memphis' doorstep at Riverside and Beale." And as The Associated Press adds, "parts of the Mississippi Delta are beginning to flood, sending white-tail deer and wild pigs swimming to dry land, submerging yacht clubs and closing casino boats, and compelling residents to flee from their homes. ... To points much farther north, thousands face the decision of whether to stay or go as high water kept on rolling down the Mississippi and its tributaries, threatening to soak communities over the next week or two. The flooding is already breaking high-water records that have stood since the 1930s." This National Weather Service map makes clear just where the flooding is already happening or soon will be.
Areas in red are already chronically flooded or soon will be. Stretch Of The Mississippi River Closed: The AP reports that the Coast Guard has closed a five-mile stretch of the Mississippi River at Caruthersville, Mo. The stretch is expected to stay closed to barges for the next eight days, because the Coast Guard fears ship wakes could push water over the floodwall protecting the city. The Associated Press writes that "police officers are going door to door urging Memphis residents to leave nearly 1,000 homes expected to be inundated by a near-record flood of the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Emergency workers handed out bright yellow fliers Friday in English and Spanish that read, "Evacuate!!! Your property is in danger right now." Thousands in Memphis told to evacuate as flood waters close in Action News 5 May 06, 2011 5:38 PM EDT MEMPHIS, TN - (WMC-TV) - Teams from Shelby County and the city of Memphis conducted a door-to-door operation Friday to tell thousands of residents it is time to evacuate. Meanwhile, the parking lot of the Raleigh Springs mall was an oasis Friday for Shelby County residents being targeted by flood waters. Elizabeth Benson checked in to see if her house off Thomas and Frayser Boulevard was in danger. The news wasn't good. "I need to prepare for the possibility of being flooded out," she said. Local authorities were uncertain whether they had legal authority to order evacuations, and hoped the fliers would persuade people to leave. Bob Nations, director of emergency management for Shelby County, which includes Memphis, said there was still time to get out. The river is not expected to crest until Wednesday. "This does not mean that water is at your doorstep," Nations said of the door-to-door effort. "This means you are in a high-impact area." About 950 households in Memphis and about 135 other homes in Shelby County received the notices, Shelby County Division Fire Chief Joseph Rike said. Emergency workers handed out bright yellow fliers in English and Spanish that read, "Evacuate!!! Your property is in danger right now." Memphis Police knocked on Pamela Holliday's front door Friday morning. "The police were telling us if the flood waters get any higher they will turn off electricity and we will have to move," she said. But Holliday didn't need a flyer to tell her flood waters were inching dangerously close. A few doors down, Reverend George Turks didn't get a flyer. His church, St Paul AME was almost under water. "To me it's too little late, you know? I think there should have been more warning," he said. In a section of south Memphis outside the evacuation zone, Billy Burke stood in his backyard, where water from a creek has been rising for days. About 20 feet away, a fish jumped out of a pool of standing brown water. "I'm going to stay as long as I can," Burke said. "But if the water goes up another 10 feet, I'm out of here." As flood waters rise so do the number of evacuees who need a place to go. Back at the command post, wrist bands will track who checks into a shelter and when. The wristbands have a bar code which is entered into a data base. Then, a scanner can track where an evacuee is staying and reunite them with their families if they get separated. No matter how efficient, the emergency response system can't keep the river from rising, but it can lower the risk of injuries and casualties, and keep families together before during and after the disaster. Mississippi Delta sees flooding from mighty river May 6, 6:05 AM (ET)
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Parts of the Mississippi Delta are beginning to flood, sending white-tail deer and wild pigs swimming to dry land, submerging yacht clubs and closing casino boats, and compelling residents to flee from their homes. The sliver of land in northwest Mississippi, home to hardship and bluesman Muddy Waters, is in the crosshairs of the slowly surging river, just like many other areas along the banks of the big river. To points much farther north, thousands face the decision of whether to stay or go as high water kept on rolling down the Mississippi and its tributaries, threatening to soak communities over the next week or two. The flooding is already breaking high-water records that have stood since the 1930s. "We're getting our mamma and daddy out," said Ken Gelston, who helped pack furniture, photos and other belongings into pickup trucks in Greenville, Miss. His parents' house sits on Eagle Lake, which the Army Corps of Engineers expects to rise significantly. "We could have 5 feet of water in there," Gelston said, nodding at the house. "That's what they're telling us." A little more south in Rolling Fork, Miss., the birthplace of McKinley Morganfield (better known as Muddy Waters), tension was high. "It's weird," said Lakeysha Stamps, a waitress at the Highway 61 Cafe. "Here we are today and everything's fine. And tomorrow there could be all this water!" The sentiment was the same elsewhere. In Memphis, Tenn., at a well-to-do enclave known as Mud Island, residents were getting too much of their beloved river. Rising waters practically lapped at the back porches of some of the island's expensive houses. "I'm going to sleep thinking, 'I hope they don't evacuate the island and we wake up and we're the only ones here,'" said Emily Tabor, a first-year student at the University of Tennessee's College of Pharmacy in Memphis who lives on Mud Island. The island pays homage to the mighty river with an elaborate scale model of it, a museum about its history and a paddlewheel steamboat that looks like something straight out of "Huckleberry Finn." The three-mile-long strip of land that is part of Memphis has about 1,500 homes and businesses and 6,000 mostly well-off residents, many of them living in gleaming, 20-year-old houses with wide river views and traditional Southern touches such as columns, porches and bay windows. Tourists can take a tram or drive across a small bridge to visit Mud Island's park, amphitheater and a museum devoted to life on the Mississippi. Emergency officials warned that residents may need to leave their homes as the river rises toward an expected crest Wednesday of 48 feet - about 3 feet higher than Thursday. The record in Memphis, 48.7 feet, was set in 1937 ... - In Kentucky,
authorities closed 250 roads in 50 counties. The Coast
Guard rescued at least 28 people, 12 cats, and three dogs
from rising waters. |

COMMENTS (5/8/11): I have been biding my time watching this develop, only posting news links. Now CNN television has just announced that the Midwest and central South are experiencing their worst flooding since the 1930s and that this flood is now worse than the legendary Great Flood of 1927. "The Great Midwest Flood of 2011" has arrived.
I don't know if this will get as bad as Edgar Cayce prophesied will happen to the Midwest, western Great Lakes, central South, and Gulf of Mexico basin, or whether my dreadful dream of a United States divided into two land masses in the East and West with a small ocean of water and islands separating them will be realised, but it is only May 2011. In my prediction for 2010, I said flooding in July of last year would continue throughout the year (which it did ... the unprecedented September 2010 Minnesota-Wisconsin Flood approached, but did not quite match the legendary Mississippi flood of 1993 or the 2008 Midwest floods). It continued almost to the end of October. I also said it would continue through this year. An early winter set in in late October/early November 2010. When the ice pack melted in late March and in April of this year, some of it made up of frozen floodwaters from the autumn, all hell began breaking loose in the Midwest and now, also, in the central South. The current outcome, in May 2011, is reportedly a 500-year flood, "set to eclipse numerous crest records set mainly in 1927 and 1937."
It is only May, and I claim this prediction is PARTIALLY FULFILLED on a fairly high percentage. We shall see if, as my prediction specifies, flooding continues until August 2011 or beyond and becomes chronic and will not recede, effectively becoming a huge waterway breaking the US mainland in two. If it does, we enter Cayce-land and my prediction is completely fulfilled. However, even if it doesn't, should 2011 earn the distinction of being the worst flood to hit the Midwest and central states in history, beating the records set, not only in 1927, 1937, and 2008, but also in 1993, then I will still claim it a prediction fulfilled entirely.

politician catches 'killer' on camera
Breitbart Jan 4 08:15 AM US/Eastern A murdered
Philippine politician caught his killer on camera just
moments before he was shot dead, with the photograph
leading to the arrest of the suspected gunman, police
said Tuesday. The photograph, taken by district
councillor Reynaldo Dagsa and distributed by his family
to media, shows his relatives posing outside their home
while a gunman in the background appears to aim a pistol
at the victim. "While he was taking the picture of
his family on New Year's Day, the killer appeared and he
inadvertently took the picture of the killer with the gun
aimed Dagsa, a councillor in a Manila suburb, was shot just moments after clicking the shutter and died while on his way to the hospital, said Santos. The family gave the photograph to the police, leading to the arrest on Monday of the gunman as well as a suspected accomplice, he said. The alleged killer is shown in the photograph wearing a reversed baseball cap just behind Dagsa's daughter, wife and mother-in-law, who were apparently unaware of the alleged assailant's presence. A man who police said was an accomplice to the crime is also seen in the photograph, looking at the gunman about to fire the pistol. Santos said the suspects had criminal records for robbery and may have had a grudge against the councillor, who was active in law-enforcement activities in his district. Rampant gun violence has long plagued the impoverished Philippines, with a vast array of cheap firearms easily available on the legal and black markets. |
COMMENTS (1/5/11): This one apparently is already a PREDICTION FULFILLED before I have had the chance to elaborate with images or text. This is getting a bit worrying too ... this is the second event from well into 2011 that has already been fulfilled. There are also indications that at least one or two 2012 predictions are showing signs of accruing related events, although not the kind that would be considered fulfillments. Of course, at first glance, one might have thought a major a Philippines figure would have been assassinated. This is still possible; but if not this event will certainly be sufficient. I wasn't sure of how famous the figure might be, but I did suspect it would be very newsworthy, all the same.

NEW PREDICTION:
4/4/11 -- There are two major zombie outbreaks that may
occur in 2011 and again in 2012; both having some historical
precedent. Normally, I would project only one of these and the
other at a much later time. However, I am working with the belief
that we are reaching a saturation point for apocalyptic events
occurring by, during, and for some time after the Mayan date of
December 21, 2012, for the ushering in of a new age and the end
of the world as we know it. This does not in any way mean I think
Armageddon is coming in 2012 or 2013, only that an extremely
catastrophic chapter in our apocalyptic future shall be opened.
There are two vectors for possible zombie outbreaks and attacks on the living, and one of these is in Hawaii in August 2011. The second is in the southern United States around the Gulf of Mexico in September 2012. The Hawaii outbreak has its base 7 precedent in a zombie plague spread by Chinese labourers in 1892 during the reign of Queen Liliuokalani (photo at right).
Aside from rare viral infections, other causes can trigger or simulate zombism, including mutation of viruses by heavy doses of radioactivity as well as radiation and toxic chemical poisoning of humans through ingestion of tainted water and food. One could even speculate that a Hawaii outbreak in 2011 could have its root causes in the radiation leaks from the damaged nuclear power plants in Japan.
Then again, it is possible that an interdimensional portal shall be opened in the South Pacific that will allow the "dead ones" also known as the Rephaim, a form of Giborim, to sneak through into the islands, devouring and consuming the flesh of the living.

NEW PREDICTION: 10/28/10 -- The highest temperatures ever recorded in the UK will occur in August 2011, further evidence that Planet X is approaching.
| Britain to
bask in hottest October ever as heatwave continues
through the weekend The autumn heatwave is expected to reach its peak this weekend after Friday saw temperatures of 84F (29.2C) The Telegraph September 30, 2011
Forecasters are predicting that the current record high for October of 84.9F (29.4C) will be shattered as the autumn heatwave reaches its peak this weekend. They believe they could even top 86F (30C) or higher in some parts of the country. The forecast comes as the country entered its fourth day of an unprecedented Indian summer which has seen it experience temperatures higher than the Bahamas and Hawaii. Eleanor Crompton, Met office forecaster, said: "There is a good chance of records being broken and temperatures could even get as high as 30C (86F)." Temperatures yesterday reached 84F (29.2C), the hottest for the end of September on record. Meteorologists say they will go even higher, beating the previous record for October that dates back to October 1, 1985, at March in Cambridgeshire. The highest temperatures are expected in London and the East Anglia. But even the north of Scotland will enjoy 73.4F (23C). Stephen Davenport, forecaster for MeteoGroup, said the weather is likely to stay warm until the beginning of next week when it will probably begin to cool. Hotels.com said it had experienced almost a 10-fold rise in searches to top British seaside destinations including Bournemouth and Weston-super-Mare. The most popular resort was Broadstairs in Kent, with a 275 per cent increase in hotel searches compared with the same time last year. The company said other popular spots included Salcombe in Devon, Skegness in Lincolnshire, Southend in Essex and Portsmouth. The Supermarket giant Tesco predicted the weekend will be a "barbecue bonanza" and has ordered extra stock to cope with the expected demand. It expects to sell 3.5 million sausages in the next three days as well as 550,000 burgers, a million pots of potato salad and coleslaw and 10 million bottles and cans of beer. The RSPCA has repeated its warning about the dangers of leaving animals in cars, conservatories or caravans during the hot weather after it received 170 reports from people worried about pets in the last week. The charity said this is three times as many calls as during the same week last year. Record highs broken in slew of cities July 22, 2011 -- Updated 0224 GMT (1024 HKT)
(CNN) -- The blistering heat wave that has brought stifling conditions to much of the United States broke 55 record highs on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said Thursday. That's more than 1% of all temperature records in the country. Another 60 records were tied Wednesday, the weather service said. As many as 22 deaths are blamed on the heat, the service said. Excessive heat and humidity are "expected to expand into the Ohio Valley and East Coast states for the remainder of the week," the weather service said in its forecast Thursday. The highest heat index values -- how hot it feels -- "are expected across parts of the Midwest, Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic, where they are forecast to be between 105 and 115 degrees through Friday, with locally higher values possible," the forecast said. "Excessive heat watches, warnings and heat advisories are in effect over much of the central U.S., Ohio Valley and from the Carolinas northward into New England." Triple-digit temperatures are forecast to remain across the Eastern United States through Saturday before cooling off slightly to the mid-90s by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service ... Among the records broken Wednesday were temperatures in Walsh, Colorado, at 104; Garden City, Kansas, at 108; and Gage, Oklahoma, at 107, according to preliminary reports.
The heat has affected many outdoor activities, prompting one Minneapolis movie theater marquee to read, "We have AC. Who cares what's playing," and one Canadian couple to forgo their original plans while visiting the Twin Cities. Scott Hoffot and his wife, Colleen, of Saskatchewan, Canada, arrived in Minneapolis Sunday with their camping gear, planning for a vacation spent mostly outdoors at a campground. Instead they're now doing "more touristy" things. "We went from camping in a tent to staying in hotels, so that we could get air conditioning," said Hoffot. "We spent a fair amount of time in the Mall of America yesterday because of the heat." The last time Isabella Kulkarni of Minneapolis felt this hot, she wasn't even on the same continent. "I was in India, to be honest," Kulkarni said Thursday. "I just have never really experienced this intense humidity. ... You go outside and it's just oppressive. Breathing in (takes) energy." Kulkarni started a new job selling natural ice cream for Pick-a-Pelata, a street-vending ice cream company, around Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis. She rides a bike, with the ice cream in a cooler, around one of the biggest and busiest lakes inside the city. One of Kulkarni's first days at work it was nearly 95 degrees. "I just went nice and slow," she said. In Chicago, the excessive heat has left about 7,000 people without power, CNN affiliate WGN-TV reported. ComEd crews worked through the night, but some residents were resorting to extreme measures to find relief. In one neighborhood, residents Thursday ran wires from one home to another. In Newark, New Jersey, Mayor Cory Booker announced that facilities were available in every ward to help keep citizens cool. "It is imperative that our residents drink plenty of fluids, stay indoors in a cool climate, and avoid strenuous activity," Booker said in a statement. "I urge our senior citizens and Newark residents who lack air conditioning to come to one of our cooling centers." In New York, Con Edison called on customers to stay cool and not waste energy. "Store owners who leave doors open with the A/C running could be subject to fines from the city," ConEd said. Air
conditioner repair experts with Logan AC & Heating in
Cincinnati, Ohio, have The first confirmed heat-related death in Kansas City was declared Thursday, but it stemmed from a death last month. A 57-year-old man was found dead in his home on June 5, according to Dan Ferguson, who works for Jackson County. In addition to the man's death, there are 13 other possible heat-related deaths in Missouri -- the youngest was a woman in her mid-30s, and the oldest were two women in their mid-70s, said Jeff Hershberger, spokesman for the Kansas City Health Department. It may take six weeks to several months for officials to process toxicology tests to determine whether all 13 died of heat-related causes, Hershberger said. In Wisconsin, a 65-year-old man from Fountain Prairie was confirmed by health officials to have died from heat-related causes Thursday, according to CNN affiliate WKOW. Columbia County Medical Examiner Angela Hinze said the man had underlying medical conditions that were made worse when he was helping a family member outside with housework. In Oklahoma, four heat-related deaths have been confirmed since May, said Cherokee Ballard, a spokeswoman for the state medical examiner. Three of those occurred in the past 30 days, including a 3-year-old boy in a car in Norman and a 69-year-old man from Blackwell, she said. An additional eight Oklahoma deaths may potentially be related to the heat, she said, with most occurring in July. CNN affiliate WPXI reported Thursday that a child accidentally locked in a hot car was rescued in Spring Hill, Pennsylvania. The girl's mother locked her keys in the car and immediately called for help, the report said. The girl was not hurt. The high heat continues to take a toll on animals. Dozens of cattle died south of Harmony, Minnesota, CNN affiliate KTTC reported. And on a cattle farm just across the border in northern Iowa, an estimated 100 cattle died, the report said. At the Brookfield Zoo just outside Chicago, staff kept water misters in exhibits and gave some animals huge blocks of ice filled with meat and fruit. |
COMMENTS (7/22/11): Wrong country (US instead of UK), right time, right event. I would consider this as a PREDICTION PARTIALLY FULFILLED on a high end percentage. I am living it and it's very bad. Can't even turn the computer on until quite late at night (actually after midnight), and still too hot even with a high-powered fan (blowing hot air) and two air conditioners in nearby rooms. It is 84 degrees here, with an index of 90 degrees (what it actually feels like) at 2:29 AM. It is one of the reasons there have not been many updates over the last few days.

NEW PREDICTION: 12/14/09 -- No base 7 year has escaped this curse which has been in progress since at least 1899. Many of the most famous female celebrities, the majority of them actresses, have all succumbed to this most deadly of timelines. Great legends such as Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana, Sharon Tate, Grace Kelly, Isadora Duncan, Karen Carpenter, Thelma Todd, and Carole Lombard all perished on the same chain of dark karmic influences. Rarely, a male icon died instead: James Dean (1955), Sal Mineo, Jack Cassidy (1976), and Christopher Reeve (2004). The next time this vector will arrive is August/September 2011 ... and this time it is almost 100% that a very famous, blonde female superstar will die tragically.
Before continuing, it is necessary to review the last period of danger when a blonde female superstar could have died: the target year, 2004, and the adjacent year, 2005. This review will prove that the influence was very hard at work at that time, even though most of the women who were targeted survived what would normally have been certain death. Also, since the influence failed to kill any major female superstars, we have an idea what form the danger may take in 2011. It is also possible that one of the females who experienced a close call will be targeted again ... and this time will not escape.
There were many iconic blonde females who came very close to dying a tragic and premature death in 2004 and in 2005: by accidents and suicides. 2004 and 2005, in many ways were miraculous years for these women.
BUT not for one rising star of the British stage ...

One death probably went
largely unnoticed because the victim was a rising British theatrical
actress who had also appeared in a few films and several
radio plays. At the time I did not fully appreciate the
significance of Fritha Goodey and her suicide in
September 2004. That was because I had not yet
come across certain information concerning British stage actress Kitty
Melrose who committed suicide by poisoning on June
3, 1912 (her death in 1912 occurred
prematurely adjacent to the target year 1913).
Melrose was a very famous theatrical actress in her time. Although stage actress Maude Adams is believed to be the inspiration for the character Elise McKenna in the film Somewhere In Time played by Jane Seymour, one cannot help but wonder if the star-crossed Kitty Melrose wasn't also an influence.
After all, the pivotal date of the tragic romance between Elise McKenna and Richard Collier (played by Christopher Reeve) in the film is June 27, 1912: three weeks after the very real suicide of Kitty Melrose. The romance lasts only a few days before tragedy strikes, Collier is suddenly pulled back into the year 1980 before the frightened, helpless eyes of the woman whose love he has won, after which McKenna disappears from the stage, becoming a recluse and dying of old age in 1972.
Kitty Melrose, as mentioned, committed suicide by poison as a result of a failed love affair after a smash production of Quaker Girl in London's Aldelphi Theatre. Maude Adams did not experience anything quite of this nature, either the fictitious scenario in Somewhere In Time nor the sad fate of Kitty Melrose, especially in the year 1912, although the sudden death of her beloved manager Charles Frohman during the sinking of The Lusitania in 1915 did cause her to collapse with shock and grief. She also lost her grandmother that year and her mother in 1916.
However, she did not retire from the stage until 1918, helped direct stage productions for a time, returned to acting again in 1931 to 1934, and went on then to teach drama until her death in 1953.
The death of Charles Frohman, whom many also believe was Maude Adams' lover, doubtlessly inspired the story climax of Richard Collier being yanked suddenly and utterly from the life of Elise McKenna by powerful forces beyond their control. But I find it more than a mere coincidence that the story was set on June 27, 1912 ... three weeks after that other famous stage actress "across the pond," Kitty Melrose, suddenly found herself facing life without the man she loved and committed suicide. I have to believe that either the writer of the book or the movie script knew about this too and used both Maude Adams and Kitty Melrose to create the character of Elise McKenna.
How long the century before the suicide of Kitty Melrose was finally repeated by theatrical actress Fritha Goodey in September 2004. Goodey, it is now known, thrust a knife into her chest several times, puncturing the heart once, because of unfounded fears of failure in her career and also because she was losing her battle with anorexia (let us not forget that anorexic pop singer Karen Carpenter is also on this timeline). Prior to her death, Miss Goodey had won one of her biggest roles to date, starring opposite David Suchet in a revival of the Terence Rattigan play Man and Boy. It is widely believed that this production would have catapulted Goodey into lasting fame.
Note also that the leading man in the film Somewhere In Time, Christopher Reeve, also died in October 2004. He died two years after beginning to make amazing progress recovering from a spinal injury caused by a broken neck sustained during a fall from a horse in 1995. He died at the peak of his heroic struggle to also bring world attention to the plight of spinal cord injury victims: a champion of the stem cell research needed to treat and cure this devastating form of injury. Not by coincidence, two of the actresses discussed below sustained very serious neck injuries in 2004 and 2005, another nearly did, and still another came close to being accidentally strangled to death or even decapitated.

On March 5,
2004, Hollywood actress Daryl Hannah
had a lucky escape in an elevator when her scarf got stuck in the
doors of a descending elevator and nearly strangled her. Luckily,
the scarf ripped in two, leaving red marks and bruises on her
neck.
Iconic dancer and
entertainer Isadora Duncan was strangled by her scarf in
September 1927 when it was caught in a tire spoke of the sports
car she was a passenger in.
According to news sources of that time, the stress placed on her neck nearly decapitated her.
One can easily imagine what could have happened to Daryl Hannah.
In late August 2004, what I projected would be the most dangerous time, blonde actress Charlize Theron nearly broke her neck doing a wire-hanging stunt during a film shoot for Aeon Flux.
Theron suffered a herniated disc in her neck which required major surgery and for her to wear a neck collar for over a month.
Again, the
Isadora Duncan influence from 1927 was quite violent, putting
Theron on her back and in a neck brace ... one ruptured disk shy
of certain death.
After Charlize Theron's close call, on November 16, 2004, blonde actress Shelley Long attempted suicide by overdosing on pain killers and failed. This suicide attempt was extemely close and, clearly, the influences of legendary suicide blondes Carole Landis (1948) and Marilyn Monroe (1962) were at work at this time.
In what was obviously a Sharon Tate influence from 1969, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, the only non-blonde, testified in 2004 that a female stalker threatened to "slice her up like meat on a bone" in a crime that would make "entertainment history."
Moreover, one letter from the stalker boasted that "the bitch will be shredded to pieces like Sharon Tate was. This is going to be entertainment history," referring to the actress murdered by the Manson gang. "See ya at the funeral," said another.

It is almost as though the near deaths of Daryl Hannah and Charlize Theron by strangulation and neck injury were but a prelude to what was coming in the adjacent year of 2005. The year began with a trend that continues to this very day ... indeed, one that is escalating.
In February 2005, South Korean actress Lee Eun-ju hanged herself in her apartment with a necktie. Since then, six other major South Korean actresses have followed suit: U-Nee (January 2007), Jeong Da-bin (February 2007), Choi Jin-sil (October 2008), Jang Ja-yeon (March 2009), Woo Seung-yeon (April 2009), and Daul Kim (November 2009).

Indeed, hanging is now the leading form of suicide for both men and women throughout the world. This form of suicide has recently been placed in the spotlight by a number of events, some very strange indeed.
One of these, perhaps for all we know the actual trigger, if not the first major symptom that something is definitely wrong with society, was a mass suicide party planned to take place on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2005: The Valentine's Day Suicide Party. 32 women in their late teens, 20s, 30s, and early 40s had met on several chat rooms in the US, Canada, and the UK with their moderator, Gerald Krein, age 25, during late 2004 and January and early February 2005. All of them planned and agreed to travel to Krein's residence at Klamath Falls, Oregon ... two of them with their children ... and when there engage in orgiastic sex, hanging themselves to death naked from the huge metal beam Krein had prepared at his home. Some intended not to have sex with Krein and the other women and only hang themselves ... naked as agreed. Those who could not attend agreed they would hang themselves naked live on webcam, their suicides to be viewed on a large monitor via a computer in Krein's home, or, if that was not possible, hang themselves at another place and time of their choosing (joining the others "in spirit" I suppose). One child, around age 8 or 9, and four teenagers, aged 14 to 18, belonging to two of the young women, unknowingly, were to accompany their mothers to the residence to be sacrificed, hanging to death right along with the adults. With Krein included amongst the potential suicides, the total number of dead would have been 38. It is interesting to note that there was a total of 39 members of the cult Heaven's Gate who committed suicide in March 1997. If Krein's death wish had been carried out to the letter, the number of victims would have been one less than the Heaven's Gate total.

This plan was aborted by police a few days early thanks to a Canadian woman who was planning on being suicide number 33 (which would have boosted the total to 39), but, upon learning that children were to be brought along and hanged, tipped them off in advance.
Another young woman from
Portland had also been on Krein's chat room, but thought the
whole thing was actually a joke. She pretended to be interested
in Krein's suicide party and, after realising this plan was dead
serious, released a transcript of the chat exchanges to state
authorities. Police were able to track down six of the 32 women
in Oregon, Virginia, Missouri, Georgia and
Toronto, Canada. One of these had teenage children.
It is unknown what happened to the other 16 women, but two women hanged themselves on Valentine's Day at the appointed time, one naked from a tree in woods near her home, and another one partially nude in the garage of her house after strangling her 8-year-old daughter in the bathtub. It is not impossible more committed suicide after Valentine's Day ... possibly as late as the spring.
It appears that some of the women who had been on Krein's chatroom and agreed to participate in the suicide party made individual pacts of their own after Krein was arrested. Reality TV star Carina Stephenson, age 17, was found hanging from a tree in woods near her home in late May 2005. Subsequent investigations of her computer showed she had been surfing suicide chat sites since December 2004, and that she had set up a suicide pact with three other young women she had met in chatrooms.
One of these chatrooms, it turns out, belonged to Gerald Krein. Was she one of the remaining 16 women unaccounted for who made a mass suicide pact in early February? Also, no one knows what happened to the other three women Stephenson had made a pact with.
This
"almost mass suicide" was big news at the time. But
imagine how major a news event it would have been had the plan
succeeded.
Since that time independant actress and director Adrienne Shelly was found hanged from a shower rod in 2006, an apparent victim of a homicide, as it turned out.
Singer Britney Spears attempted to hang herself whilst in an mental hospital in March 2007.
An epidemic of hangings in Bridgend, Wales since late 2007, continued through 2008 and 2009, meantime spreading throughout the UK.
In 2008, Deborah Jeane Palfrey (pictured at right), the so-called "D.C. Madam," hanged herself in a toolshed ... earlier in the year her top call girl, Brandy Britton, also hanged herself in her bedroom.
Also in 2008, a male nurse by the name of William Melchert-Dinkel was arrested for encouraging seven out of eight people in the US and the UK to commit suicide live on webcam by hanging, the eighth choosing to drown herself instead.
More hanging deaths of Western models, film and television stars have occurred in 2008 and 2009 such as those of British Page 3 model Jenny Grant, British actresses Stephanie Parker and Lucy Gordon, and American actor David Carradine.
So much for establishing a disturbing and growing trend among the ranks of the famous and not so famous alike. But it is important to know this for it will likely foreshadow the manner of the tragedy of August 2011.
Returning to 2005 ...
During the adjacent year, 2005, the close calls
came even closer ... almost spot on in the same way adjacent year
1935 ended for actress Thelma Todd. Superstar Madonna
was nearly killed when she suffered several broken bones in a
horse riding accident at her country home outside London on her
birthday, August 16, 2005.
The singing icon was hospitalized with three cracked ribs, a broken collarbone and a broken hand. She could have been paralysed or worse, even died, according to sources, as she came very close to breaking her neck.
Although the fact that this close call occurred in an adjacent year can be attributed to actress Thelma Todd, the accident itself was obviously an influence of Isadora Duncan (1927) and also Princess Diana (1997).
On September 29, 2005, sexy blonde country singer Mindy McCready was taken to hospital after overdosing on antidepressants in a suicide attempt. McCready, who was pregnant at the time, took approximately 30 antidepressant pills after becoming involved in a heated phone argument with her boyfriend.
This was the second
such attempt in three months for McCready, who was found
unconscious in a hotel in Fort Myers, FL on July 26,
2005 after another attempted overdose.
Once again, the line of suicide blondes mentioned above, most notably Marilyn Monroe, influenced this near brush with death ... not only once, but twice!
On December 19, 2005, almost exactly 70 (7 x 10) years to the day after the death by carbon monoxide asphyxiation of Thelma Todd, actress Brooke Burns survived an incident that should have quickly led to an untimely and tragic death.
The former ''Baywatch'' star broke her neck after diving into her backyard pool, and later said in hospital she would have died if it wasnt for a friend, and paramedic firefighter, saving her life.
Burns said, ''I literally broke my neck. It's a classic neck break from chin to chest. If I had been alone, I would probably be dead.'' Burns said her friend ''saw me dive in, and he wrapped a wet towel around my neck and basically immobilized me and floated me in the pool until the paramedics came, so he saved my life.''
Once more, an extremely violent influence from Isadora Duncan (1927) occurred ... so violent that Burns's neck was actually broken, and the bones of her neck completely separated, which normally would spell certain death.
Once again, as we did in preparation for the year 2004, we shall review the names, dates, and causes of death for all of the celebrities who died on this timeline:
Jennie Worrell (American burlesque actress, August 1899, burned to death), Georgia Cayvan (American stage actress, November 1906, untimely death from illness caused from botched operation), Kitty Melrose (British stage actress, adjacent for 1913, June 1912, suicide by poison), Olive Thomas Pickford (September 1920, accidental poisoning - suspicious), Isadora Duncan (September 1927 - accidentally strangled by scarf caught in spokes of car tire), Thelma Todd (adjacent for 1934, December 1935, carbon monoxide poisoning - suspicious), Carole Lombard (adjacent for 1941, January 1942, plane crash), Carole Landis (July 1948, suicide by drugs overdose), Ona Munson (February 1955, suicide by drugs overdose) and James Dean (September 1955, car crash), Marilyn Monroe (August 1962, suicide by drugs overdose - suspicious), Judy Garland (June 1969, accidental drugs overdose) and Sharon Tate (August 1969, stabbed and strangled to death - homicide), Sal Mineo (February 1976, stabbed to death by mugger/stalker) and Jack Cassidy (December 1976, died from burns received in house fire), Princess Grace - Grace Kelly (adjacent for 1983, September 1982, suffered stroke while driving and died in car crash), Karen Carpenter (February 1983, suicide? death due to severe anorexia), Capucine (March 1990, suicide, jumped from eighth story window), Princess Diana (August 1997, car crash - suspicious), Fritha Goodey (British stage, radio, and film actress, September 2004, suicide by knife wound in chest), and Christopher Reeve (October 2004, beloved actor of Superman film fame, died of heart failure while in a coma caused by a super-infected bedsore just as he was beginning to make major progress, since 2002, recovering from a spinal and neck injury suffered in a 1995 horseriding accident).

All those who were rising stars or at the peak of their careers, save for Carole Lombard and Thelma Todd, died in August or September.
Because a famous male actor died tragically in 2004 instead of a female (Christopher Reeve), it should be 100% certain that the victim in 2011 will be female. Had two males died, as was the case in 1976, a premature adjacent vector of September 2010 would be possible. However, since only one male died, the target year will likely be 2011, with no adjacents in either 2010 or 2012 (unless the victims are not extremely famous ... overkill is always a possibility). The female will also likely be a blonde, although a few brunettes are on this timeline, such as Olive Thomas Pickford and Judy Garland.

Who is in danger? I would say, once again, Madonna. She seems to be straying from her "whore of Babylon" path, with Lady Gaga at the ready to take her place. If this happens, as I have warned in my most recent wob article, Madonna will become expendable. One possibility is that she will be strangled dead and then hanged to make it look like a suicide (like what happened to actress Adrienne Shelly, only this murder would be pre-meditated and well-planned). Less likely, but not impossible, is that she actually will commit suicide by hanging herself. Then again, she may have a third horseriding accident and this time she will die breaking her neck.
However, if Madonna once again returns to the path she has set for herself, it will likely be Britney Spears who becomes the "elevated blonde" ... most likely by hanging (as this is now the trend for female suicide and is the way she attempted suicide in March 2007). In the case of a Britney Spears hanging, it would, as above, be either a murder covered up or else a suicide.
Again, 2004 and 2005 threaten a violent death by strangulation, hanging, neck breaking, or even decapitation in 2011. As for the new Diana, it would appear to be Italian singer and France's first lady Carla Bruni. If so, she will probably be decapitated somehow, possibly in an automobile accident, or else due to mob violence if France plunges into revolution and the return to Madame Guillotine. Bruni has recently been compared to Marie Antoinette ... and not in a nice way. Public hatred of President Nicolas Sarkozy and the First Lady, Carla Bruni, has been increasing since the beginning of 2009.
Other possibilities for the "elevated blonde," or simply a major female icon dying tragically, certainly exist.
Did Demi Moore's redacted 911 call get special treatment?FoxNews.com January 31, 2012
Before she was rushed to the hospital last week, Demi Moores 911 phone call to Los Angeles Fire Department described the actress in dire condition, convulsing and reacting badly to a drug, but the parts referencing what drugs the actress had taken were mysteriously removed. According to TMZ, the Los Angeles City Attorney assigned to review the tape recommended references to whip-itsinhaled nitrous oxidebe cut out of the tape because it invaded Moores privacy. It is common practice for 911 to take out the personal informationaddresses and medical historyof callers before releasing them to the public, but legal experts tell Fox411 that Moores call was likely redacted in the way that it was just because of her celebrity clout. While her underlying medical records may be privileged, the circumstances leading to her to be hospitalization are not. The fact that a person may consume drugs or medications are customarily matters of public concern and are disclosed to the public as a matter of course," attorney Joey Jackson explained to Fox411.com. "What makes this case different, is the involvement of a celebrity. The Los
Angeles City Attorneys office told Fox411.com that
they reviewed the call at the recommendation of the Los
Angeles Fire Department, who ultimately released the
recording. We generally recommend the fire
department redact any private information as We apply the same guidelines to any 911 tape that comes into our office," Mateljan said. "The persons celebrity status, real or perceived, does not factor into our recommendations to the fire department. If they get a public records request, we review it. But some legal experts remain skeptical of just how much influence Moores publicity team exercised over the information that was finally released to the public at the end of last week. A lot of medical and personal information on the tape did remain intact. She smoked something. It's not marijuana but it's similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort. She's semi-conscious ... barely. She's convulsing," the caller said in portions of the tape left un-redacted. The house number in the address, 97 and the neighborhood, Beverly Hills were also not redacted from the tape, which seems to be not in keeping with the City Attorneys recommendation that all private information be taken out. The whole thing seems odd, said Beverly Hills Criminal Defense attorney Mark McBride. Other 911 calls regarding celebrities have not been so redacted. I am speculating, but maybe celebrities have recently made a big stink about it, and the fire department decided this time they didnt want to screw up, so they got legal advice from the City Attorneys office. Fox411.com specifically asked Moores camp if they interfered in the release of the 911 tape. They refused to comment beyond their initial statement which they released when Moore was first hospitalized: Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health," Moores rep said. "She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends. As of now, the public has no way of knowing exactly what was redacted in that 911 call. The question is how much was actually redacted and what was left out of the tapes that crossed the line of being a normal citizen and a uber-celeb like Demi Moore? Unless we ever find out what exactly was taken out, we wont know if she was given special treatment, such as the drug reference, but my hunch is she was, says attorney Vikki Ziegler. Demi has a lot to lose emotionally and financially if those 911 tapes are damaging. Its a shame as we cant all be held to the same legal standard, but in Hollywood, it doesn't appear to be the case. Rumer Willis reportedly on the scene when Demi Moore was taken to hospital -- Mystery surrounds cause of health scare and Moore's current whereaboutsThe Celebrity Cafe 1/31/2012
Its been over a week since actress Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital and, even though the 911 call was released, what exactly caused the health scare and where Moore is now remains a mystery. However, it is now known that one of her and Bruce Willis children, Rumer Willis, was there, according to a report. E! News reports that a source confirmed to the site that Rumer was there and is the Rue referred to in the 911 tape. In the tape, which was redacted by the Los Angeles Fire Department before it was released publicly, a man can be heard asking, Hey, Rue, what's the name at the gate so that we can buzz them in from here? According to the Los Angeles Times, the 911 tape did reveal that Moore did "smoke something, although people can be heard saying it was not marijuana, it's like incense. Louisiana Poison Control Center Director Dr. Mark Ryan spoke to ABC News, speculating that Moores symptoms as described in the tape could be caused from taking a synthetic drug called spice. It is still not known where Moore is right now as a source told E! News Monday that she is undergoing spiritual counseling. The only thing certain is that she has not returned home. Rumer has been seen twice since her mother was hospitalized. On Sunday night, she was at a gala event after the Screen Actors Guild Awards with sister Tallulah and during the week, paparazzi confronted her. One photographer asked her if Moore was in rehab. She is heard saying No, but her face was covered at the time by her purse. Demi Moore "smoked something" before convulsions: 911 tapeJanuary 29, 2012 8:22am LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actress Demi Moore suffered convulsions and seemed only semi-conscious after smoking an undisclosed substance before being rushed to hospital earlier this week, according to the tape of a medical emergency call released on Friday. "She smoked something, it's not marijuana but it is similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort," a female friend of Moore told emergency services when calling for an ambulance on Monday. "She has been having some issues. I don't know what she has been taking," another woman at Moore's house that night told the 911 dispatcher. Moore was also described as "burning up", unable to speak and semi-conscious before help arrived at her Beverly Hills mansion. The tape shed the first official light on the emergency that sent recently-separated Moore to the hospital, and later to seek treatment for what her spokeswoman has described only as "exhaustion". Los Angeles officials said portions of the tape recording had been edited for privacy and to remove references to specific substances. Celebrity website TMZ.com has reported that one of the friends at Moore's home on Monday told paramedics the actress had been inhaling nitrous oxide -- a substance also known as whip-its or poppers that gives users a high by briefly depriving the body of oxygen. The substance was not mentioned on the version of the tape recording released to the media. The "Ghost" and "G.I. Jane" actress, 49, filed for divorce from husband Ashton Kutcher, 33, in November after the "Two and a Half Men Star" had a widely publicized fling with another woman. Her gaunt appearance in paparazzi photos over the last few months has raised alarm bells in the celebrity media. Her spokeswoman said on Tuesday Moore had decided to seek professional treatment for "exhaustion and (to) improve her overall health" because of stress. Moore's representatives have declined to give any details or comment further on her problems. Moore and Kutcher were married for six years and their 16-year age gap made them the subject of constant media fascination. Kutcher returned to Los Angeles from Brazil on Thursday, refusing to comment to the media about Moore. Demi Moore hospitalized after inhaling whip-its full of nitrous oxide, report saysFox News January 26, 2012
Demi Moore was doing "whip-its" -- a type of nitrous oxide inhalant -- before she was rushed to the hospital earlier this week, TMZ reported. The troubled actress became semi-conscious and had symptoms of a seizure after inhaling a dangerous amount of nitrous oxide -- a gas typically inhaled by young people looking for a cheap high -- a friend told paramedics who attended the scene, the gossip site reported. The 49 year old was rushed to the hospital from her home in Los Angeles late Monday night, before checking into a treatment facility Tuesday to reportedly seek treatment for substance abuse. Her rep said that she was seeking "professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health." More at Fox News. Demi Moore Has Been Rushed To The Hospital After An Apparent OverdoseBy Amanda
Chatel Tue, Jan 24 - 10:34 pm ET
Heather Locklear was rushed to hospital yesterday after she took a dangerous combination of alcohol and prescription drugs. According to the Daily Mail, the blonde bombshells sister called 911 to report a medical emergency. Several sources are reporting that Demi Moore was rushed to the hospital late last night after what appears to be a substance abuse/drug overdose. The 911 call was placed at 1045p and due to the state she was in the paramedics felt she should not be left at home. Although reports are sketchy and no one can say for sure whether or not this was a suicide attempt, no one can argue that the recent demise of her marriage to Ashton Kutcher has taken a severe toll on the actress. When Moore appeared in public not long after the announcement of their divorce, she was rail thin and it was more than obvious that not only was she suffering emotionally and mentally, but physically, too. Soon the rumors started that she was suicidal. According to such respectable publications like National Enquirer, Moore had tried to kill herself after the public humiliation she endured when class-act Sara Leal decided to speak out about her supposed affair with Kutcher.
The word is that Ms. Moore has been placed in a facility to seek further professional assistance, for what is being assumed is substance abuse. Moores rep told TMZ: Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends. We wish her the best of luck in her recovery process. We also wish that future home-wreckers seriously consider the possible aftermath that can come with publicly revealing an affair just to garner fifteen minutes of fame. |
COMMENTS (1/26/12): This is another very serious CLOSE CALL in what may be turning into an epidemic of overdosing and attempted suicide by well-known actresses. Most troubling is that this incident climbs higher up the chain of fame ... Demi Moore is a major Hollywood actress who has appeared in some of the highest-grossing box office hits such as Ghost and A Few Good Men, unlike TV's Heather Locklear (who is also famous, but not nearly as distinguished in her career). I can't say I have ever seen anything quite like this ... a sentiment expressed in one of the above videos. This trend, if I am not being premature in calling it that, continues to point towards a mega-event involving someone ultra-famous, and possibly not as lucky to survive as these two.
Although the usual vector for the tragic death of a famous blonde actress or entertainer has largely been August or September (the target year in this case having been 2011), due to the later Carole Lombard vector from January 1942, I was also expecting the possibility of a well-known blonde female celebrity dying or having a close call in January 2012. Despite Demi Moore being dark-haired, this could still be yet another warning, I suppose, of something worse to come this month or next (Kathryn has been warning me for a few months now that February or March 2012 may be more dangerous than January, both of us agreeing Madonna is especially vulnerable, especially now or in August 2012). It may also warn that hair colour won't matter (neither Olive Thomas nor Isadora Duncan had blonde hair). Of course, the Thelma Todd vector from December 1935 still looms on the horizon to round out the entire year.
Video claims Locklear's overdose was a suicide attempt

Heather Locklear was rushed to hospital yesterday after she took a dangerous combination of alcohol and prescription drugs. According to the Daily Mail, the blonde bombshells sister called 911 to report a medical emergency. Paramedics on the scene examined the former Dynasty star and decided that she needed to be hospitalised. According to People magazine, Locklears parents described her condition as medically stable. She is in no danger and she's going to be just fine, said Bill and Diane Locklear in a statement. Yesterdays incident isnt Locklears first brush with death. In 2008, her doctor made a 911 call, claiming that the star had tried to commit suicide. Locklear was rushed to hospital, but the suicide claim was later downplayed. In June of that year, she checked into a medical facility to seek treatment for anxiety and depression. Three months later, she was arrested for driving under the influence of prescription drugs. The star was apparently so intoxicated that police had to help her out of her car.
Heather Locklear's Family Wants Her In Rehab... Again1/13/2012 10:56 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
Heather Locklear's family wants her to check in to a medical rehab facility as soon as she's released from the hospital ... but Heather is resisting ... TMZ has learned. Sources directly connected with Heather's family tell TMZ ... yesterday was not an isolated incident. Heather has been struggling with prescription drugs for a long time. In fact, sources say Heather checked in to an L.A. area rehab facility last October and stayed 2 weeks. We're told Heather's family wants her to go to a medical facility this time around -- not a rehab center. But so far ... Heather is resisting. As we first reported, Heather's sister called 911 Thursday just after 2 PM PT and said she had taken a dangerous mixture of prescription drugs and alcohol. She was hospitalized in serious condition. Heather is currently in the ICU of the hospital in stable condition -- and earlier today, she got a visit from her sister. Heather Locklear Hospitalized for Alleged Overdose; Was it a Suicide Bid?International Business Times Friday, January 13, 2012, 8:45 a.m.
Heather locklear is in stable condition at a Thousand Oaks, Calif. hospital. "She is in no danger and she's going to be just fine," her parents Bill and Diane Locklear said in a statement. Heather Locklear was hospitalized on Thursday after an emergency call made by her sister alleged she had suffered a drug overdose, leaving fans wondering if it was another suicide attempt by the blonde bombshell. According to a report from TMZ, Locklear's sister called Ventura County, Calif., 911 at 2:05 p.m. on Thursday to report that Locklear had taken "a dangerous mix of prescription drugs and alcohol. "County sheriff's officers responded to the call and paramedics rushed Locklear to the hospital via ambulance. It is unclear whether Locklear was intending to commit suicide, but it would not be the first attempt. In 2008, Locklear reportedly overdosed on prescription medicines and her doctor phoned emergency services saying she was trying to commit suicide, which later was determined a false alarm. Locklear reportedly checked into rehab shortly afterward, in June 2008, in Arizona to receive treatment for anxiety and depression. Locklear was most recently in the news for calling off her engagement to former "Melrose Place" co-star Jack Wagner, whom she had been dating since 2007. Locklear announced their plans to get married in August. "Jack and Heather are no longer engaged," Locklear's rep told People magazine, without giving a reason for the split. Locklear was previously married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, which ended in 1993. Shortly thereafter, she married Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora before divorcing in 2007. Locklear and Sambora had a child together in 1997, a daughter named Ava. Locklear began her career as a model for the UCLA college store before landing her first major roles in "Dynasty" and "T.J. Hooker" in the 1980s. She is best known for her role as Amanda Woodward on "Melrose Place," which first aired in 1993. |
COMMENTS (1/14/12): This is a very serious CLOSE CALL despite Locklear's parent's attempts at damage control (they say it was not a suicide attempt). For the purposes of this prediction, it really doesn't matter if it was a suicide attempt or not. Marilyn Monroe's death is still on the books as a possible accidental death as well as a possible suicide. You don't get admitted to ICU (Intensive Care Ward) by ambulance after ingesting drugs and alcohol unless you are in positive danger of death. Like the Shelley Long suicidal overdose of 2004, this event is serious enough to stand alone.
Although the usual vector for the tragic death of a famous blonde actress or entertainer has largely been August or September (the year in this case being 2011), due to the later Carole Lombard vector from January 1942, I was also expecting the possibility of a well-known blonde female celebrity dying or having a close call in January 2012. This could still be a warning, I suppose, of something worse to come this month. Of course, the Thelma Todd vector from December 1935 still looms on the horizon.
KATE
WINSLET'S NARROW ESCAPE FROM DEADLY FIRE:
FIRST
REAL CLOSE CALL FOR A FAMOUS BLONDE ACTRESS IN 2011
Winslet, Bransons count their blessings after escaping house fireActress Kate Winslet and her family were among those in Richard Branson's home when lightning set it ablaze. August 25, 2011 -- Updated 0314 GMT (1114 HKT)
(CNN) -- Family members and friends of billionaire Richard Branson, including actress Kate Winslet, were taking stock of their blessings after their narrow escape from the business magnate's burning Caribbean island home, which had been ignited by a lightning strike. "I'm just so glad that everyone is safe. And this very easily could not have been the case," Winslet said in a news release Wednesday, two days after fire destroyed the house on Necker Island, the 74-acre private island the Virgin Group chairman owns in the British Virgin Islands. Said Winslet: "I will never forget Richard placing his arms around both my children as we were watching the flames, and saying, 'At the end of the day, what you realize is that all that matters is the people that you love. Everything else is just stuff. And none of that stuff matters.'" Winslet was one of about 20 people who were in the house when lightning -- from a storm spawned as Hurricane Irene was passing through the Caribbean -- struck the house at around 4 a.m. and set the house ablaze, Branson said in a statement after the incident. Branson said Winslet helped carry his 90-year-old mother to safety. Branson's
daughter, Holly, was quoted as saying she awoke that
morning to shouting, "which was hard to hear over
the howling hurricane winds and rain, but I knew
instantly something was wrong. I went downstairs to be
met by my older cousins, Ned and Jack, who were shouting
for everyone to get out. I looked down the corridor to
see a raging fire in the main room. "The flames were
quickly spreading to where everyone was sleeping, and we
knew instantly the urgency to get everyone to
safety," Holly Branson said. "Once we knew
everyone was out of the house, I ran into the office to
call the manager to let him know what was happening. As
us Bransons are renowned for practical jokes, he didn't
believe me at first." She said she "ran as fast
as I could barefoot in the winds and rain to get to my Branson's son, Sam, said that all he could see when he woke up "was a huge ball of flames and a giant orange glow reflecting off the rain." "I thought everyone inside was being burned alive," he said. "I couldn't believe my eyes. I ran barefoot over cacti, through the hurricane-force winds, all I could think was I've got to try and save what was left of my family, and did my best not to break down." He said he found out they were safe, "but the feeling of shock remained."
Richard Branson, who said he plans to rebuild the house, spoke of an encouraging encounter on Wednesday: "The day after the fire, Kate, myself and my children Holly and Sam went up to the ruins of what was the Great House," he said. "To our absolute delight walking across the ashes was Necker's pet tortoise, ET. ... None of us could understand how anything could have survived that inferno, and ET will have pride of place in the new Great House once it's built." The island had been featured on such TV programs as "MTV Cribs," and TV personalities Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo were recently married on the island. |
COMMENTS (8/26/11): This apparently was a very close call; reports indicate all of those inside could have easily died if not for one alert family member. Kate Winslet, who saved Richard Branson's mother, could have easily ended up like another famous actress heroine who was not so lucky: Linda Darnell, who died in 1965 from a fire at the house where she was staying as a guest. It has always been rumoured that she attempted to rescue a child from the blaze, and, after finding the child had already jumped from a second-storey window, ran back downstairs and was overcome by a huge gust of flames that burned 90% of her body as she attempted to exit through the front door (which would not open). Darnell was literally burned to death. This 1965 precedent has never again been repeated in 1972, 1979, 1986, 1993, 2000, or 2007 ... although there have been a few close calls. Next vector will be in 2014.
Anyway, returning to THIS TIMELINE (1906 - 2011), at first I was surprised to see fire introduced as a potential cause of death ... until I realised there was one celebrity who did in fact die in a house fire on this line. It must be remembered that although this is a largely female-dominated pattern, there have been several famous males who have died on this base 7 configuration. I have mentioned them in the text of the prediction above, indeed they also appear as name sound influences for 2011 on the Celebrity Deaths and Mishaps page. They are, again, James Dean (1955), Sal Mineo (1976), Jack Cassidy (also 1976), and Christopher Reeve (2004).

On December 12, 1976, blond-haired actor Jack Cassidy, who had recently completed his last villainous role in Columbo as 'The Great Santini,' fell asleep on the couch in his apartment with a lit cigarette following a night of partying. After the resulting inferno was finally put out by firefighters, they found his charred, partly skeletal remains on the floor of the living room. He was 49 years old.
It would appear that actress Kate Winslet much more narrowly escaped death than she may realise. Burning to death is an ugly, horrible, and most painful way to die. This leads me to remain concerned that this CLOSE CALL may also be a RED ALERT since December 2011 is still four months away, if it is applicable as a vector, and can yet claim a victim this month or in September.
However, as strangulation or hanging has been alerted by the Rebecca Nalepa Zahau "suicide" as a more probable cause of death for an actress, in keeping with the reasons given in this prediction above, the deadly fire that Kate Winslet escaped occurred on Necker Island in what may be a macabre word play by the hand of Fate.

Attorney: 'Bondage porn' found on Coronado mansion computerSan Diego, California Talk Radio Station - 760 KFMB AM Saturday, November 19, 2011 8:57 PM EST
CORONADO, Calif. (CBS 8) - The death of Rebecca Zahau at the Spreckels mansion got even more bizarre Saturday, amid reports that investigators found Asian pornography and bondage anime on a computer at the home. Zahau was found naked and bound on the morning of July 13 after Adam Shacknai, the brother of the mansion owner, called 911 to report her death by hanging. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department ruled Zahau's death a suicide but her family believes she was murdered. During a seven-week investigation into Zahau's death, investigators at the San Diego Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory took a close look at at least two computers inside the mansion, said Zahau family attorney Anne Bremner. On at least one of the computers, the forensic examination found pornography, according to comments posted Friday evening on Bremner's Facebook page. In a phone interview with News 8, Bremner confirmed that more than a dozen searches of sexual content using terms like "raped, sexy Asian girls, and bondage anime" were accessed on a computer the day before Zahau's death. Bremner insisted it was not Zahau who looked at the online content and suggested the computer may have been accessed by someone using an airline account. "Never in a million years would she have those fantasies; and never in a million years would she even look at porn," said Bremner. "There was somebody interested in doing her harm, with these kinds of searches." Bremner also said the computer forensic report shows no searches that indicated Zahau killed herself. "When they searched computers and her phone, they didn't find any searches for rope, suicide, hanging anything like that," said Bremner. "What they did find was this (pornography), which is consistent with somebody else doing it and it's important to find out who that is." News 8 asked Sheriff Bill Gore whether porn was found on Zahau's computer at a news conference Wednesday, but he refused to comment on the content recovered. "That information is now in the possession of Anne Bremner if she'd like to discuss that with you," said Gore. "We're not really putting out all the specifics of the information found on the computer." Those specifics are contained in the forensic computer report that Sheriff Gore also said he is not inclined to release. "We released what we thought was pertinent so the public could understand how we arrived at our conclusions. To release the whole file would not be in keeping with our own policy," said Gore. Anne Bremner said she is planning to resubmit evidence in the case to the California Attorney General in the next few weeks, which she hopes will lead to a new, independent investigation of Zahau's death. A spokesperson with the Sheriff's department told News 8 on Saturday, "We see no need to comment." Rebecca Zahau's Death Might Be Homicide, Dr. Cyril Wecht Says On 'Dr. Phil'Huffington Post First Posted: 11/17/11 10:59 AM ET Updated: 11/18/11 01:26 PM ET
A woman found naked, bound and hanging in her boyfriend's Southern California mansion might have been murdered, according to a prominent pathologist. That inconclusive finding contradicts the investigations of two police departments and a medical examiner who ruled that Rebecca Zahau killed herself in July just days after her lover's son was seriously injured in a fall while she was babysitting him in Coronado, Calif., according to CBS News. Dr. Cyril Wecht revealed his grisly hypothesis to Zahau's family on the "Dr. Phil" talkshow on Tuesday. The family had Zahau's body exhumed from her Missouri grave and flown to Wecht for a second autopsy in Pittsburgh, because they disagreed with the official reports that called the death a suicide. Wecht disputed the original postmortem, saying that he found evidence of blunt trauma to Zahau's head, which could have been caused by an attacker "Good Morning America" reports. He also doubted that Zahau, 32, hanged herself, because her neck wasn't fractured. The evidence was suspicious, Wecht says, leading him to say he'd change the cause of death from suicide to undetermined on the death certificate, according to "Good Morning America." The San Diego County Medical Examiner interpreted the head injuries differently, saying that they were "relatively minor," according to TV station KFMB. San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore chided Wecht and the Zahau family's attorney for allegedly misrepresenting the investigation on Dr. Phil McGraw's program and urged them to share new evidence, if they found any, KFMB said. For now, he considers the case closed. The tragedy unfolded in July at the home of Zahau's boyfriend Jonah Shacknai. Zahau was looking after Shacknai's six-year-old son, Max, when he fell down the stairs and slipped into a coma. Two days later, Jonah Shacknai's brother discovered Zahua's limp body hanging from a balcony in the suburban San Diego palatial home. Her mouth was gagged with a t-shirt and her hands were tied behind her back. Her ankles were also bound together. Days later, Max died from his injuries. But family members didn't believe that Zahau was depressed and were vexed by a cryptic message scrawled on a bedroom wall that said "She saved him. Can you save her," according to "Good Morning America." The "Dr. Phil" show helped fund the exhumation and had heavily publicized that it would air the results. Pathologist: Hanging would have broken Zahaus neck -- "It probably would have decapitated her because of the force"Tuesday, November 15, 2011 11:21 PM EST CORONADO, Calif. (CBS 8) - The results of a second autopsy on Rebecca Zahau were released Tuesday on the Dr. Phil Show, four months after she was reportedly found hanging off a balcony at Coronado's Spreckels mansion. San Diego County Sheriff Department investigators ruled Zahau's death a suicide by hanging but her family believes it was murder. Zahau's body was exhumed from a cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri and flown to Pittsburgh for the second autopsy, which was performed by respected forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht. "I feel like my sister hasn't rested yet because I don't have an answer for her, as far as what happened to her," Rebecca's sister Mary Zahau-Loehner told the host, Dr. Phil McGraw. "When we did exhume her, I felt like they won again. It felt like it started all over again," said Zahau-Loehner. "It's a case that just cries out for answers and investigation," Zahau family attorney Anne Bremner told Dr. Phil. "We even have mixed DNA in her fingernail clippings." Dr. Wecht, appeared via satellite on the TV show and reported, "I lean very strongly toward it being a homicide something involving foul play and lean very strongly against it being a suicide." Dr. Wecht said Zahau's neck was not broken and he believes it should have been, given the nine-foot drop off the balcony described in her initial autopsy report. "I believe that if the body had just plummeted down with that sheer drop of several feet, then the cervical vertebrae would have been fractured or dislocated; separated one from the other, or from the base of the skull," Dr. Wecht concluded. During his autopsy, Dr. Wecht had a chance to examine four head injuries that did not break the skin but caused bleeding underneath Zahau's scalp. The San Diego County Medical Examiner has described those head injures as "relatively minor" and said in a September statement that "she may have struck her head on the balcony on the way down." Dr. Wecht disagreed with that conclusion. "You have to have blunt force trauma. You have to have the head impacting against some object four times; or be struck by something four times in a round, blunt force nature," said Dr. Wecht. "I would like to hear from them how you get four separate impacts to the top of the head in a vertical hanging," Wecht continued. "And, the significance of that is that those kinds of impacts might lead to a concussion and could lead to temporary unconsciousness." In an exclusive interview with News 8, Dr. Phil McGraw said he found the results of the second autopsy compelling. "He (Dr. Wecht) basically says it probably would have decapitated the body because of the force," Dr. Phil told News 8's Phil Blauer. "His conclusion is there are huge unanswered questions here and there is no way this should be deemed a suicide," said Dr. Phil, who believes the case should be re-opened. "I think there are answers that may be available and if they are, this family will have peace of mind," Dr. Phil said. "The explanations don't need to lead to murder but they need to be explanations where they say, 'Okay, I get it. Now I can move on and begin to heal.'" San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore issued the following written statement at 7:12 p.m. on Tuesday, responding to the Dr. Phil Show series of reports: Bizarre death of millionaire CEO Jonah Shacknai's girlfriend was a suicide: reportBY Philip

A woman found hanging naked and bound from an outdoor balcony at her millionaire boyfriend's beachfront San Diego mansion last month committed suicide, sources told NBC San Diego. Rebecca Zahau hanged herself at pharmaceutical tycoon Jonah Shacknai's $12 million pad because she was allegedly distraught over an accident involving Shacknai's 6-year-old son days before, insiders with knowledge of the case told NBC. Zahau was supposed to be watching little Max Shacknai when he suffered severe brain injuries after tumbling down some stairs at his dad's massive pad on July 11. Two days after the boy's fall, a family member found Zahau's naked body hanging off a second story balcony with her hands and feet tied. Max Shacknai died at a children's hospital four days later. Investigators never linked the two deaths and said they believed Max's fatal fall was an accident. But the grisly series of events drew intense scrutiny on Jonah Shacknai, the CEO of Medicis pharmaceuticals. Max Shacknai, 6, died days after tumbling down some stairs at his father's house. Zahau's body was discovered two days after the accident. In the weeks after the boy's death, reports surfaced that Shacknai and the boy's mother had gotten in physical disputes while their marriage collapsed in 2008 and 2009. In one incident, Dina Shacknai claimed her husband elbowed her and cussed at her, while Jonah Shacknai claimed that his wife once tried to strangle him, police said. The two released a statement in response to the reports saying that losing their son was "unimaginable" and that the police reports about their marital problems didn't tell the whole story. The condition of Zahau's body sparked suspicions of foul play. But experts told NBC that she may have tied her hands to make sure she couldn't save herself. "I could see a person binding their hands so they wouldn't be able to help themselves trying to get out of the noose once they committed the act of hanging," ex-homicide cop Rick Carlson told the station. The back-to-back deaths at the mansion, located in Coronado, an exclusive island in San Diego, put intense scrutiny on Medicis CEO Jonah Shacknai. Coronado mansion death: The suicide scenarioSunday, August 21, 2011 2:20 AM EST
CORONADO, Calif. (CBS 8) -- The death of Rebecca Zahau at the Spreckels mansion in Coronado on July 13 remains a mystery five weeks after she was found hanging naked with her hands and feet bound. A News 8 review of similar hanging deaths around the nation may reinforce a possible suicide scenario. The body of Zahau, 32, was found hanging by the neck with a rope tied to a second-story balcony of the home owned by Arizona tycoon Jonah Shacknai. Zahau and Shacknai, 54, were romantically involved and stayed at the Ocean Blvd. home during summer months. Detectives said Shacknai's brother, Adam Shacknai, was the only other person home at the time of Zahau's death. Adam said he cut down Zahau's body and then called 911. News 8 helicopter video showed the body on the ground with rope tied around Zahau's wrists and ankles. At a news conference two days after Zahau's body was discovered, a Sheriff's homicide captain was already talking about suicide as a possible cause of death. "If it was determined to be a suicide, people will do some very bizarre things," said Capt. Tim Curran. If Zahau did commit suicide, she presumably would have bound her own neck, hands and feet before hanging herself -- by either jumping off the balcony itself or perhaps stepping off a table located on the ground. But is that really possible? Local investigators admit they have never encountered a female suicide victim, found hanging, naked and bound. But the suicide scenario remains a possibility. "It is unusual to have somebody who is bound at the feet, and to have their hands secured behind their back, and of course being unclothed," Sheriff's homicide Sgt. Roy Frank told News 8 last month. Even so, "there are documentations of incidents throughout the country where people have secured their feet and hands to commit suicide," said Sgt. Frank. In 1991, the hanging death of a college student near the University of Idaho was ruled a suicide, even though his hands were tied behind his back. Sharon Akhaven, 21, had previously tried to commit suicide by hanging but he was unsuccessful because he used his hands to free himself. On Jan. 6, 2002, a father of four was found hanging in his apartment on Morning View Dr. in Escondido. According an autopsy report, 31-year-old Juan Lazo tied a rope around his neck and bound both his hands and feet before stepping off a ladder and hanging himself in the bathroom. Lazo's death was ruled a suicide. Last year, a 35-year-old homeless man used Zip Ties to bind his hands behind his back before he hanged himself inside a restroom at the LAX airport. The Los Angeles coroner later ruled the death of Dominico Nguyen a suicide. In Coronado, Zahau's hanging happened just two days after her boyfriend's 6-year-old son, Max Shacknai, suffered a fatal fall off the staircase while Zahau was in the home taking care of him. Following the boy's fall July 11, he was kept on life support in the hospital before passing away the morning of July 16, according to his death certificate. The fact that Zahau was found naked has led some experts to openly doubt she took her own life. Zahau's family has said they do not believe Rebecca committed suicide. Sheriff investigators are still waiting for toxicology and forensic testing to come back before they announce the official cause of death. No arrests have been made. On Thursday, the Sheriff's department launched a new web site to help keep the public and members of the media updated on the Coronado mansion death investigation. Millionaire's beautiful lover found hanging naked with 'hands tied behind her back' at mansionDaily Mail Online 9:22 PM on 15th July 2011
The beautiful young lover of a pharmaceutical millionaire found dead at his 27-room mansion was discovered naked, hanging from a second-storey balcony with her feet and hands bound with orange electrical cord, police have revealed. Rebecca Nalepa, 32, met what officers described as a very violent and very suspicious end' at 54-year-old Jonah Shacknai's historic $17m Spreckels Mansion in Coronado, near San Diego. While an autopsy has been completed, police are not releasing the details and have not yet ruled whether her grisly death was murder or suicide. Speculation mounted it could be connected to an accident just days before, when Mr Shacknai's six-year-old son Max fell down the property's grand staircase. Miss Nalepa, a Burmese woman who had been in a relationship with Mr Shacknai for two years, was reportedly looking after the little boy at the time. The mystery surrounding her death, which police have described as 'bizarre', deepened as it emerged a loud party had been held at the 27-room house on Tuesday night, the day before Miss Nalepa died - and the day after the little boy's accident. San Diego County Sheriff's Office said Miss Nalepa's naked body was discovered by Mr Shacknai's brother, Adam, early on Wednesday morning. Adam, who had been staying at a guesthouse on the property, told detectives he found her hanging by her neck from a second floor balcony, with her hands and feet bound. He cut her down from the balcony to try to save her, before calling 911. Firefighters tried to revive Miss Nalepa, who they described as being 'in distress', but she was later pronounced dead at the scene. When news cameras circled overhead, her naked body was lying sprawled in a grassy courtyard, with what appeared to be orange electrical wire trailing to one side. Tim Curran, with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, described the circumstances as 'very suspicious', telling NBC San Diego that it appeared the victim had died a 'violent' death. He refused to rule out suicide, saying: 'That is a possibility. [The] circumstances are bizarre.'
One of the biggest residences in Coronado, it was built in 1908 as a beach home for John D. Spreckels, who owned the nearby Hotel del Coronado. 'It appears to be some type of a violent death, and I'm not going to compromise the integrity of the investigation by giving anything more than that at this time,' he added. Mr Curran said Adam Shacknai is not currently being considered a suspect, although he was the only other person believed to have been in the 27-room mansion when Miss Nalepa died. Both brothers and Mr Shacknai's ex-wife Dina, who is six-year-old Max's mother, are being questioned by police as witnesses, Curran said. In May, Miss Nalepa, who had lived with Mr Shacknai for about two years, had successfully petitioned to revert to her maiden name, Rebecca Zahau. Her ex-husband, Neil, told 10News; 'This is all overwhelming. I'm just trying to wrap my head around it.' A friend told NBC San Diego Miss Nalepa was a 'survivor' who would never have allowed herself to have been seen naked and would not have considered suicide. Nalepa's brother-in-law Doug Loehner also issued a statement, defending her boyfriend. 'Jonah is a stand-up guy. He was very devoted to Rebecca. She treated his kids as her own,' he said. The incident was the second time in a week emergency services had been called to the landmark residence, which was built in 1908 by former newspaper and hotel magnate John Spreckels.
On Monday, Mr Shacknai's six-year-old son Max was hospitalised after a fall near the grand staircase in the same mansion. Paramedics found the boy was not breathing and did not have a pulse after falling down the stairs, Coronado Police Chief Louis Scanlon said, describing it as a 'tragic accident'. The boy is being treated at Rady's Children's Hospital San Diego. He is thought to be in a come bu hospital spokesman Carlos Delgado declined to comment on his condition. A man who came to the house to collect the dogs after Max's fall said of Miss Nalepa: 'She was very nice but very quiet and mellow.'Nancy Romano, the boy's grandmother, said her daughter, Dina Flores, has been with ex-husband Mr Shacknai at his bedside every day.Reacting to Miss Nalepa's death, Ms Romano, of Redwood City, California, told the Arizona Republic: 'This is horrible. What a tragedy... my stomach is in knots.'She added: 'We don't know what happened.' Mr Shacknai is the founder, chairman and chief executive of the Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company manufactures products including an acne drug and a competitor to Botox. A spokesman for the firm said: 'The Medicis family is deeply saddened to learn of a tragic incident at a California property owned by Jonah Shacknai.' Our thoughts are with Jonah and his family and (we) ask that the family's privacy be respected during this difficult period. At this time, the company has no further comment.' Medicis shares were down 4.9 per cent to $38.10 this morning.Neighbours say Mr Shacknai was staying at the mansion with his girlfriend and children. Marilyn Monroe Sculpture
Drawing Controversy On Mag Mile July 15, 2011 7:28 AM
CHICAGO (CBS) The long-awaited 26-foot sculpture of Marilyn Monroe was unveiled on the Magnificent Mile Friday morning, amid some controversy about its risqué appearance. The three-part piece sculpture by artist Seward Johnson was unveiled in Pioneer Court alongside Tribune Tower. It depicts Monroe as she appeared in an iconic scene in the 1955 movie The Seven Year Itch, where her dress goes flying up as she stands over a New York subway grate, leaving her underwear exposed. One by one, group by group, admirers climbed onto the fake subway grate to take photos with the oversize Marilyn. Come on, what is it like, 25 to 30 feet tall? Its outrageous, Scott Simonson said while posing for a picture. Its really cool. I love it. Ruth Soil says shes a teeny bit offended. Trying to live up to this image killed her, she told CBS 2s Roseanne Tellez. I dont know what the message is. I would have liked to see a more serious image of a woman instead of with her skirt blowing and everyone looking up her dress. The artists told CBS 2 the statue is intended to celebrate everything Marilyn stood for. Thats what art is supposed to do, he said. The sculpture was built in a studio in New Jersey and brought to Chicago. It is aluminum from the waist up, but below the waist shes a woman of steel. Thats because so much is resting on those spike heels.
Pioneer Court has previously hosted sculptures depicting Shakespeares King Lear Grant Woods American Gothic. Melissa Farrell of Zeller Realty Group told WBBM Newsradio 780 earlier this week that the 26-foot sculpture will be quite the attraction. We are installing a large scale public artwork. Its very visible to the public and it becomes a tourist attraction. People come to Chicago to see it, Farrell said. In his Perspective Thursday night, CBS 2s Walter Jacobson said the sculpture will be a welcome addition to the Mag Mile. So we did not get the Olympics, but we have Ms. Monroe, keeping us on top of the outdoor world, and just when we need it, a smile on that mile, he said. But Chicago Tribune columnist Mary Schmich gave the sculpture a scathing review. She called it as tawdry as a peep show, and complained about the men walking by who were seen shooting photos of her crotch while one stuck out his tongue to mime a lick. The original image (from The Seven Year Itch) is coy, Schmich wrote. Marilyn on the Mag Mile is crude. But fans and foes alike will have to get used to the sculpture. It will be towering over Michigan Avenue through next spring. |
COMMENTS (7/16/11): The victim is unknown to the general public; and she is certainly not a blonde ... not even Caucasian, in fact, but Asian. It doesn't matter ... this case is not only bizarre and mysterious, but it is so spectacular in nature that it will likely dominate headlines for quite some time. Also, the fact that Marilyn Monroe's giant statue was unveiled the same day seals both of these events together as one very huge warning to someone very famous. It is a very large RED ALERT that Quatrain 1.39 may be fulfilled this year ... and the victim may well be a blonde of iconic status, someone perhaps who has copied Marilyn Monroe or Sharon Tate ... someone like Madonna, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, or the actresses who have played (or are to play) either of them.
Below, the Kate Middleton "Marilyn Moment" also seems to amplify the base 7 connexion between 2011 and 1962 ... whether the person in danger is actually the non-blonde Duchess of Cambridge herself or a blonde female entertainer or actress such as the ones mentioned above is so very difficult to determine. Suffice it to say that my warnings above of sensational hangings and strangulations has indeed been playing out: the potentially serious neck injury suffered during practise by Dancing With The Stars' Kym Johnson earlier this year, the strangulation murder of swimsuit fashion designer Sylvie Cachay (which fulfilled one of my predictions), the strangulation murder of Cheryl Maher, who publicly linked herself to a sex scandal involving Utah House Majority Leader Kevin Garn last year (which has fulfilled another of my predictions only days ago), and now the sensational, mysterious, and kinky bondage-style hanging death of the girlfiriend of multi-millionaire and CEO Jonah Shacknai ... on the heels of a wild party.
Where is this leading? Maybe nowhere, just like 2004 ... but I can't say I have really seen a year quite like this, with so many bad omens. Elements of 1997, 1969, 1962 and even 1956 are all coming into play ...

COMMENTS
(7/9/11): Normally in any other year one could
brush off this incident as a trivial coincidence. But not during
a year that is aligned with 1962 (7 x 7 years ago) ... the year Marilyn
Monroe died. Her death date draws near: August 5. And
not in a year aligned with a most dreadful and historic royal
tragedy, the death of Princess Diana, also on
the 1962 timeline: 1997 (2 x 7 years ago).
Kate Middleton has already been compared with Princess Diana, for obvious reasons. There has even been a ghoulish magazine cover of a digitally aged 50 image of Diana walking side-by-side with Kate ... the daughter-in-law she never knew.
For these reasons Kate's 'Marilyn Mishap' evoking memories of 1956 and the film The Seven Year Itch brings on something of a dreadful, sinking feeling.
It is frightening to see various news reports actually linking Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, by name, to the late Marilyn Monroe because of this shared incident. Even worse to read them calling her a "royal version of Marilyn Monroe." That also was what Princess Diana was.
This year has seen four tragic females discussed for a variety of reasons: Diana, because of Kate's engagement and marriage to Prince William; Princess Grace, because of gold medalist and golden-haired Charlene Wittstock's engagement and marriage to Monaco's Prince Albert II; and Marilyn Monroe, because Kate posed for Tatler's cover in an intentional copycat of artist Andy Warhol's 'Marilyn Monroe' print, and also because two reasonably accurate biographical films have been and are to be produced (the second one, Blonde, to be the most ambitious, starring Naomi Watts). Also, unsettling, Sharon Tate has been mentioned a lot as well, partly because of a film being made about her, starring Lindsay Lohan. Sharon Tate was murdered ... and in the minds of most people, so was Diana.

As I mentioned in my April 27, 2011 update below, the female icon who has a high probability of dying tragically this year need not neccessarily be blonde, and I quote myself:
"I sincerely hope that Kate Middleton does not share Princess Diana's place in history as a murder victim this year. Yes, Kate is dark-haired, but, as redhead Isadora Duncan reminds us from her grave, the femme fatale of this year need not always be blonde-haired (despite what I said above about the quality of blondeness ... true 95% of the time)."
Indeed, some of the blondes who died on this timeline were originally brunettes and not natural blondes ... including Marilyn Monroe and Carole Landis. Of the few men on the timeline, Sal Mineo and Christopher Reeve had dark hair.
Lindsay Lohan offered Charles Manson role by itnnews
Below, I also point out that, although he died like James Dean, Ryan Dunn was no James Dean. Nevertheless, he had some kind of following, possibly making him a penultimate tragedy to a much greater and more terrible one.
What do I mean by that? In July 1997, fashion designer Gianni Versace was shot to death, murdered by serial killer Andrew Cunanon. Six weeks later Princess Diana died from injuries sustained in a Paris car crash. The murder of Versace, who was gay, was prefigured in 1976 by the slaying of gay actor Sal Mineo. Mineo was stabbed to death by a stalker. Note that Mineo's and Versace's murders were further prefigured by the death of hair designer Jay Sebring in 1969, once Sharon Tate's lover ... both of them together, along with three others, savagely stabbed to death by four followers of Charles Manson.
What if this year the roles are reversed? Dunn, the penultimate male victim, like Diana rather than like Versace, dies in a car crash. If Kate Middleton truly is next in danger, then it may be by a clear and obvious act of cold-blooded murder (like Versace, like Mineo, and also like Jay Sebring/Sharon Tate). If the 1997 reversal is exact, it may be a shooting, unless the Mineo/Sebring-Tate influence overrules and it is a stabbing.
Clues in prophecy are impossible to find at this point. But one quatrain by Nostradamus that has long bothered me may apply, and if applicable there should be great concern, for it appears a woman of great position, likely a royal, is murdered whilst watching a concert, opera or play of some sort (possibly a rock concert unless it is an actual opera, musical play or symphonic concert):
Nostradamus, Quatrain 10.25 ~
By
Nero a Byzantine passage will be opened, very far away will the
Tagus (Spain) make a demonstration:
In Pelligouxe will the
outrage be committed, against the great lady seated in the
orchestra.
Obviously, if anything bad happens to Kate Middleton, it will be a double tragedy that would plunge the world into mourning all over again. But it would not only be the people's loss, as it was when Diana died in 1997, but it would be William's loss as well, having already lost his mother. This would be too much for the world to bear, a great tragedy for both William and Kate.
WELL, we all know what happened yesterday ... this could be it, not a female, but a male yet again ... but an icon??

Dunn killed in car crash June 20, 2011 5:46 p.m. EDT
(CNN) -- Ryan Dunn, one of the stars of MTV's "Jackass" films and TV series, was killed in a fiery car crash on a Pennsylvania highway early Monday, police said. A passenger in Dunn's 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 was also killed, but investigators have not positively identified the body, according to the police report sent to CNN. The red-bearded Dunn, 34, was famous for his pranks and dangerous stunts on the show, which evolved into a successful film franchise. West Goshen, Pennsylvania, police were called to the wreck scene on State Route 322 at 2:30 a.m., the police report said.
"Upon arrival, police located one vehicle off the road and in the woods that was fully engulfed in flames," the report said. "Speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident," police said, although the investigation is in its preliminary stages. Dunn was driving the Porsche, which was registered in his name, police said. A photo of Dunn was posted on his Twitter account about two hours before the wreck showing him with a drink in his hand. Two men sitting with Dunn in the photo are not identified. The manager of Barnaby's in West Chester, Pennsylvania, confirmed that the photo was taken in his bar Sunday night. The bar is about a mile away from where Dunn was killed in a car crash. Manager Jim O'Brien confirmed that Dunn was drinking there. "He didn't seem to be intoxicated at the time he left," O'Brien said. "Ryan was not a hardcore drinker, at least not when he was here." O'Brien said Dunn was a regular customer and well known to his staff. "He was a valuable person in our community and his death is a tragedy," O'Brien said. "He will be missed." MTV issued a short statement through its Twitter account Monday morning: "We're deeply saddened by the passing of a member of the MTV family, Ryan Dunn. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family." "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville tweeted his message Monday morning: "Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn. My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy." Dunn teamed up with "Jackass" co-star Steve-O for an episode of the NBC game show "Minute to Win It" that aired on June 8. He also hosted "Proving Ground," which premiered on the G4 channel on June 14. |
COMMENTS (6/21/11): Similar last names: Dunn and Dean. Both died driving a Porsche. Both were speeding. Both had a "live fast, die young" attitude. Although red-haired and red-bearded, as can be seen in these and other photographs on the Internet, he toyed with brown hair and also blonde. The top photo was taken only minutes before he took off in his car and sped off to his grave. His hair was blonde at the end (although his beard remained red) ... blonde, just like James Dean.
That's where the similarity ends. Ryan Dunn was no James Dean. Such a comparison would be an insult to James Dean who, despite making only three films, was a great actor destined for even more greatness. Is this where stardom has left us in 2011?? That a reality star who made his fame by appearing in JACKASS is to become a cult legend? If that is the breed of actor (and actress) or celebrity that is destined to walk in the shoes of a Carole Lombard, James Dean, Sal Mineo, Marilyn Monroe, Sharon Tate, or Princess Diana ... not only will it be difficult to figure out who is in danger from the downside of stardom's neverending cycles of tragedy and warn them in time, but it will hardly be worth the trouble.
So what now? Like it or not, the James Dean parallel is there, deservedly or not. The poor guy is dead, I never heard of him, but may he RIP all the same. Is this then a PREDICTION PARTIALLY FULFILLED? ... because inherent in this blonde female icon tragedy prediction was the remote possibility it might be a male actor, dying in a manner like James Dean, Sal Mineo, Jack Cassidy or Christopher Reeve (although it is way too soon for another Christopher Reeve type actor to die young as Reeve died last round in 2004). Will there be another Ona Munson type suicide? In '04, actress Shelley Long almost ended up in that role. Is the fact that her suicide bid failed part of the reason we appear to be repeating a James Dean/Ona Munson scenario yet again in 2011?
Or has the James Dean-type death of Ryan Dunn merely blindslided us to what perhaps is yet to come? When fashion designer Gianni Versace was murdered in July 1997, no one had an inkling of the fate that was to befall Princess Diana over a month later. For two weeks, Versace's slaying was major news, as was his mega-star funeral, as was the serial killer responsible for his death, Andrew Cunanon, and his April-July reign of terror. Instead of asking who is Ryan Dunn, perhaps the real question should be who is next?
TRENDS THUS FAR
Flashback 2004: Neck Injuries and Suicide Attempts Seven Years ago

OBSERVATIONS (4/27/11):
By May of 2004 (7 years ago) one deadly trend was already
apparent: the near-strangling of blonde actress Daryl
Hannah when her scarf got caught in an elevator door as
the car was descending. Luckily, the scarf ripped in two, and she escaped from being hanged and
possibly decapitated. The incident left red marks and bruises on her neck.
In late August 2004, blonde actress Charlize Theron nearly broke her neck doing a high wire stunt during the filming of Aeon Flux. Because she herniated a disk in her neck, she was forced to wear a neck brace for well over month. Apparently, dying one's hair dark, as Theron had to for her film character, will not alter the outcome of being someone normally associated with having blonde hair, whether natural or artificial. Indeed, in a year like this one, it may even be dangerous to flirt with a blonde image.
The deadly trend? The horrific accidental death of Isadora Duncan in 1927 ... strangled by her own scarf which was caught in the tire spokes of the car she was riding in. It was a far-reaching trend that would continue two months past 2004 into February 2005 with the hanging suicide of popular South Korean actress Lee Eun-ju and a December 2005 diving injury which actually broke the neck of blonde actress Brooke Burns. A quick-thinking friend happened to be at the house who knew enough paramedical procedures to save her life. If she had been alone that day, she admitted, she would be dead.
The 2004 victim of this 'strangled neck turned broken neck' theme ended up being actor Christopher Reeve, who died of a bacteria-resistant infection while trying to recover from the damage he sustained to his spine after breaking his neck nine years earlier in a horseriding accident in 1995.
Reeve became the fourth male to die on this timeline of monumentally premature death, mostly of blonde-haired female icons, joining James Dean (1955), Sal Mineo (1976), and Jack Cassidy (1976). Dean and Cassidy were both blonde-haired; Mineo and Reeve were the only dark-haired exceptions. Isadora Duncan was the only red-haired female on the timeline. All other females have been blonde.
Interestingly enough, blonde icon Madonna would herself be injured in a horseriding accident in 2005, breaking an arm, shoulderblade, ribs, and her collarbone. She came very close to ending up like Christopher Reeve did in 1995.
Another trend of early 2004 was suicide. British stage actress Fritha Goodey, a blonde, stabbed herself in the chest and bled to death. Later, in November 2004, blonde actress of TV and film Shelley Long attempted suicide by drugs overdose. Had she succeeded she would have been the Ona Munson of 2004 (although Long is far more famous than Munson ever was) and Christopher Reeve would have been the James Dean. The suicide of Shelley Long, however, would have been a rather earthshaking event. In terms of fame, she is much more famous than Carole Landis was, but not nearly as big as Marilyn Monroe. Shelley Long in the 1980s and 1990s was on par with the comedian actress of the 1920s and 1930s, Thelma Todd.
Shelley Long is a major star; Fritha Goodey was not.
So what are the trends, thus far, this year?

For one thing we are seeing suicide enter the picture along with cancer. This takes us back to 1990 with the premature cancer deaths of blonde actresses Susan Oliver and Jill Ireland (only dying a day apart). Ireland was only 54 and still a very sexy woman until cancer began wasting her way; Oliver was 58 and likewise looked quite young for her age until the cancer progressed. Both were still acting at the time of their deaths. However, it was cancer that killed them, not suicide.
There was a suicide in 1990, however, in March. Actress Capucine, an Italian film star who appeared in some of Federico Fellini's films, including Satyricon, and with a Peter Sellers in a few English-speaking films such as A Shot In The Dark and Pink Panther. She was largely a '60s actress and did not flourish well in the industry in the 1970s and 1980s. She leapt to her death, likely due to depression, from an eighth-storey balcony window at age 59. But to say that any individual female screen legend died tragically in 1990 would be a bit of a stretch. Ireland was perhaps the most famous of the three because she was still such a viable asset to filmmakers, the wife of Charles Bronson, famous for appearing with him in some of his films, including the camp favourite, Death Wish 2 (released in 1982). Ireland was very public about her cancer, appearing on many talk shows, and seemingly beating the disease. Her sudden death was a shock as she seemed to be championing the cause as a cancer survivor stressing the importance of early breast cancer detection. Oliver's best years, on the other hand, had been the late 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s. Her cancer had attacked her brain, leaving her face visibly deformed by chemotherapy. She too made public appearances to stress early detection of cancer.
The deaths of these three actresses comprised a collective tragedy, but no one individual could be compared with the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Sharon Tate, Carole Lombard, Carole Landis, Karen Carpenter, Princess Diana, and others. I will say, however, that I found Jill Ireland's death most disturbing.
Still, Ireland and Oliver lived their lives right up until their cancer killed them. They did not commit suicide.
However, this year, a blonde actress
suffering from cancer has committed suicide:
April 14, 2011: Angela Scoular, the wife of Leslie Phillips, has died after drinking chemicals in a suspected suicide. The 65-year-old actress, who starred in two James Bond films, had been suffering from bowel cancer. Police were called to her home in Maida Vale, north-west London, at 1.50pm on Monday after she apparently downed a significant quantity of a toxic liquid.
The actress was rushed to hospital, but doctors were unable to save her and she died at 5.28pm. The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation into her death which was being treated as unexplained last night ...
A talented actress, she played Lady Agatha Shawcross in the TV series You Rang, MLord? and Cathy in a 1967 production of Wuthering Heights. Other credits include The Avengers, Penmarric and As Time Goes By. She appeared in two Bond films as Buttercup in Casino Royale in 1966 and as Ruby Bartlett in On Her Majestys Secret Service in 1969. Film roles also included A Countess From Hong Kong (1967), featuring Marlon Brando and Sophia Loren, Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush (1968), and the British comedy Doctor In Trouble, in which Phillips also starred, in 1970 ...

One can hardly blame the poor woman: she suffered terribly with the cancer according to the report. And, while I do not like having to use her death as an example, I must, as it may be a trend with the potential of playing out even more tragically this year. If there is another suicide, it may not be triggered by a disease like cancer. It may be something emotional or reckless in natiure, not an escape from a terrible medical illness, and a thing entirely avoidable.
Angela Scoular, like Fritha Goodey in 2004, was not a major star, yet a somewhat more famous star than Goodey.
This bodes much ill for a suicide attempt, if not a successful suicide, by a major star in 2011.
Trends 2011: Very strong Marilyn Monroe and Sharon Tate nostalgia; Double L Initials
The other trend I notice comes courtesy of actress Lindsay Lohan. Notice anything peculiar about that name? Her initials are double: L.L.
In terms of 2004, Shelley Long and Christopher Reeve were similar to Ona Munson and James Dean in 1955. Long was very lucky she didn't die. If Long and Reeve replayed 1955 in 2004, then we are now in 1962/2011.

James Dean (died in car accident) and Ona Munson (suicide, drugs overdose), died 1955 ... 7 x 7 years later ... Christopher Reeve (died of complications from horseriding accident injury) and Shelley Long (suicide attempt, drugs overdose), died, survived 2004
Again, Lindsay Lohan's initials are L.L. Marilyn Monroe died in August 1962. Her initials were M.M. Monroe's double initials are one letter removed from Lohan's. Note similarity in name sounds: LYN-zee and Mari-LYN | Mun-ROH and LOH-han.
Monroe exhibited behaviour for a few
years prior to her suicide that was, to say the least, very
quirky and disturbing. So has Lindsay Lohan.
Lohan has suffered from drug abuse and alcoholism. She has done some very bizarre and dangerous things while under the influence. She has also been arrested numerous times, for driving while intoxicated, drug possession, shoplifting, parole violations, and now stealing a necklace.
Add to this another dead giveaway clue as to how important the double initial L.L. may be: the brutal assault and rape of news coorespondant Lara Logan (L.L.) during the overthrow of Mubarak in Egypt. Logan, who is also a blonde, was not only raped, but nearly ripped to pieces by the mob. Logan is one letter removed from Lohan.
A
lawyer has publically stated that, unlike the other violations
that allowed rehab to take the place of prison, there can be no
rehab for stealing an expensive piece of jewelry in plain sight. She
WILL do time in a prison.
A Sharon Tate Curse? Lohan has also gravitated towards playing the role of blonde actress Sharon Tate in a biopic about the doomed Manson Family victim. Tate was murdered in August 1969 (42 years ago, 6 x 7 years ago). Her death was the most horrific of anyone's on the current timeline. If Lohan spends too much time in prison, she will eventually be in dangerous company ... famous people are more likely to be targeted by violent acts in the current climate, as actor Randy Quaid and his wife have reminded everyone. "Starwhackers" are everywhere, and may well be in general population of a prison. Lindsay's last time in prison won her some enemies because she was catered to ... and she was only confined for less than two weeks.
What happens if she has to spend four or five months in prison? Her trial comes up in June, sentencing may not occur until July. She wlll be in the dangerous August period when she begins jail time.
Then again, the Tate film may be held up because of Lohan's prison sentence. Not true, however, regarding the film about screen and sex symbol legend Marilyn Monroe.
Is this to be a "Marilyn Monroe type year?" If 2004 was like 1955, and if 2011 is like 1962, this may be a critical question. There are two biopics about Marilyn Monroe in the works: My Week With Marilyn is currently in post-production, starring Michelle Williams, and is scheduled to be released in either autumn 2011 or January-February 2012. Production for Blonde, originally slated for January 2011, has been put on hold and remains in development until later this year. It will star Naomi Watts and has a tentative 2012 release date. Lindsay Lohan may have toyed with the image of Marilyn Monroe for photos, but Williams and Watts truly have the right stuff to look like Marilyn (as does Scarlett Johansson, originally cast to play Monroe in My Week With Marilyn before Williams was ultimately chosen).
If instead of a Sharon Tate curse, there is a Marilyn curse affecting anyone who plays her this year of all years, Michelle Williams is at the top of list to come to a tragic end in August. She has already completed playing the role of the doomed sex goddess. Should My Week With Marilyn be released this year and not next, she may be placed in double jeopardy. Naomi Watts is second on the list if production for Blonde begins before the end of the year. If a biopic about Marilyn were shot any other year, this may not be true. But 2011 (7 x 7 years after Marilyn's death) is bad luck, I fear.

Naomi Watts, Michelle Williams, Marilyn Monroe

On another front, I
would point out that 14 years ago, Princess
Diana died in what may have been a murder by car crash.
I cannot think of a worse year for Prince William and Kate Middleton to have chosen to get married than 2011. They should have married in 2008 or 2009. Radicals and nutters alike have threatened to wreak havoc at the wedding on 29 August, and the royal couple themselves have been threatened with bodily harm.
I sincerely hope that Kate Middleton does not share Princess Diana's place in history as a murder victim this year. Yes, Kate is dark-haired, but, as redhead Isadora Duncan reminds us from her grave, the femme fatale of this year need not always be blonde-haired (despite what I said above about the quality of blondeness ... true 95% of the time).
And the term femme fatale is yet another warning ... this time to Britney Spears. The logo of her Femme Fatale album shows an imcomplete circle (life cycle) that terminates in an upside-down satanic cross that is also a "7." The fourth correction (4 years) after her failed March 2007 suicide may well be a successful suicide in August or September 2011. Britney plays a dangerous game with symbols so powerful and so very dark ... a big mistake in a year ending in 11, the number of duality.

NEW PREDICTION: 7/20/10 -- It is a matter of record that Teheran has publicly stated that Bahrain is considered to be Irans 14th province. It would not surprise me in the least if, at a time of heightened tensions with the West, especially during a naval blockade, that Iran do to Bahrain what Iraq did to Kuwait in 1990: invade and forcibly annex it. We would expect such a move, from a base 7 perspective, to occur around August 2011.
Reaction from Teheran grows increasingly bellicoseBahrain faces 'war of annihilation' The Telegraph 6:55PM GMT 16 Mar 2011
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's president, issued an angry statement describing the situation in Bahrain as "unjustifiable and irreparable." Experts are warning that the crackdown could lead young protesters to seek military assistance from Iran-based organisations, leading to violent attacks or even an insurgency. Key financial services companies, who make up the backbone of Bahrain's economy, are considering leaving the country fearing long-term unrest, a British expatriate said. Iran accuses U.S. of approving Bahrain invasion Wednesday 16 Mar 2011 Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday said Bahrain's crackdown on protesters was unjustifiable and held the United States accountable for the move, Press TV reported. "This military invasion was a foul and doomed experience. Regional nations hold the US government accountable for such a heinous behavior," President Ahmadinejad told reporters following a cabinet session. "The US seeks to save the Zionist regime (Israel) and suppress popular uprisings. So, it supports certain governments," he added, as cited by Press TV. Drumbeats of War - Iran Promises Action Against Saudi Invasion of Bahrain Ahmadinejad is not alone. The Majlis, which is the Iranian version of parliament, said it would take diplomatic actions to put an end to the slaughter of people in Bahrain. A member of the Majlis Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy told Iranian official media, The Saudis should know for a fact that Tehran will use all the power and potentials at its disposal to halt the oppression of the people of Bahrain. Iranian press reported that he went on to warn that Iran would take measures to ensure regional security and said Iran would confront and neutralize invaders that bring instability to the region. Gulf troops in Bahrain may spur Iran to join conflict ArabianBusiness.com Wednesday, 16 March 2011 1:47 PM
The arrival of Saudi and other Gulf troops in Bahrain may provide a stepping stone for Iran to join the regional conflict, analysts said Wednesday. Clearly the situation is spiraling out of control and getting dangerous, said Theodore Karasik of the Dubai-based Institute for Near East and Gulf Military Analysis. I think we are moving to a new chapter It has the potential of pulling in Iran rhetorically as well as physically. Last week, it seems more distant, now it seems closer, he said. Iran may use the notion of foreign interference to intervene under the guise of offering protection to protesting Shiites in the kingdom, he said. It is the proxy war they [Iran and the Gulf states] have been having that has come through various cycles and is now coming to a head, he said. Iran was quick to condemn the arrival of Gulf troops on Monday, urging Bahrain not to allow what it called foreign interference in protests that have gripped the island for more than a month. Using other countries' military forces to oppress these demands is not the solution, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hossein Amir Abdollahian told the Fars news agency. Christopher Davidson, professor of Middle East politics at the UKs Durham University, said the presence of Gulf troops would delegitimize the ruling family, embolden the protestors, and anger Iran. Iran has denied rumours that it is backing Shiite activists in the kingdom ... Iran slams Saudi invasion of Bahrain PressTV Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:37PM
Iran's Foreign Ministry Director General for the Persian Gulf and Middle East Affairs has criticized the invasion of Bahrain by Saudi Arabian forces, saying it only makes the situation more complicated. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Monday that the Islamic Republic has urged the Bahraini government to respect the demands of the people and to refrain from using violence, Fars News Agency reported. More than 1,000 Saudi Arabian troops arrived in Bahrain on Monday to help intensify the crackdown on anti-government protesters. It is surprising to see that immediately after the recent trip of the US Defense Secretary [Robert Gates] we see the intensified use of violence against the people of Bahrain, Amir-Abdollahian said. Gates made an unannounced visit to the Bahraini capital, Manama, on Friday. Bahrainis have been camping in Pearl Square since February 14th, demanding King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's ouster and constitutional reforms. Amir-Abdollahian said it is expected of Bahraini officials to take the demands of the Muslim people of Bahrain seriously and prevent the meddling of other countries. On Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast called on the US to respect democracy instead of sending military officials to the region and repressing the people. Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday warned the Bahraini government against the use of force and violence against anti-government protesters. Analysis: Tiny Bahrain could provoke regional conflict with Iran Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:02pm EDT
MANAMA (Reuters) - When Saudi Arabian troops rolled into Bahrain to help quell Shi'ite Muslim protests, the world's top oil-exporting region inched closer to a sectarian stand-off that could involve non-Arab Shi'ite power Iran. Gripped by its worst unrest since the 1990s after protesters took to the streets last month, Bahrain said on Monday it had asked the Gulf Cooperation Council, a six-member Gulf Arab bloc, for support in line with a regional defense pact. The intervention of Gulf Arab troops in Bahrain is highly sensitive on the island, where the Shi'ite majority complains of discrimination by the royal al-Khalifa family, who are Sunnis. Gulf Arab ruling families are Sunni and intervention might encourage a response from Iran, which already supports Shi'ite groups in Iraq and Lebanon, countries with large Shi'ite populations and no strangers to persistent sectarian strife. Iran reacted swiftly, urging Bahrain not to allow what it called foreign interference in dealing with appeals for reform. "Using other countries' military forces to oppress these demands is not the solution," Foreign Ministry official Hossein Amir Abdollahian told the semi-official Fars news agency. Accusations already abound of Iranian backing for Shi'ite activists in U.S.-allied Bahrain -- charges they deny. "Although this is unlikely at this stage, what may be perceived by some Bahrainis as foreign intervention may lead to calls by some for non-GCC intervention, such as from Iran, to protect the Shiites in the kingdom," said Ghanem Nuseibeh, partner at consultancy Cornerstone Global. "Should the confrontation between the rioters and the non-Bahraini forces lead to substantial casualties, the likelihood of this happening will substantially increase." Bahraini opposition groups, including the largest Shi'ite party Wefaq, have already said they consider the move an act of undeclared war against defenceless civilians. Civilians in Bahrain are unarmed. Sectarian clashes that broke out around the country in recent days involved clubs, knives, fists and rock-throwing. They would need foreign assistance if they were to mount any resistance to Gulf troops. Saudi intervention began after veiled warnings to Iran from the GCC Secretary-General Abdul Rahman Attiyah, who said the bloc would not accept foreign intervention in Bahrain. Analysts saw the troop movement as a mark of concern in Saudi Arabia that concessions by Bahrain's monarchy could inspire the conservative Sunni kingdom's own Shi'ite minority. Shi'ites make up about 15 percent of the population in Saudi Arabia, a key U.S. ally and the world's top exporter of oil. Saudi sends troops, Bahrain Shi'ites call it "war" Mon, Mar 14 2011
MANAMA (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia sent troops into Bahrain on Monday to help calm weeks of protests by the Shi'ite Muslim majority, a move opponents of the Sunni ruling family on the island called a declaration of war. Analysts saw the troop movement into Bahrain, home to the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, as a mark of concern in Saudi Arabia that concessions by the country's monarchy could inspire the conservative Sunni-ruled kingdom's own Shi'ite minority. About 1,000 Saudi soldiers entered Bahrain to protect government facilities, a Saudi official source said, a day after mainly Shi'ite protesters overran police and blocked roads. "They are part of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) force that would guard the government installations," the source said, referring to the six-member bloc that coordinates military and economic policy in the world's top oil-exporting region. Bahrain said on Monday it had asked the Gulf troops for support in line with a GCC defence pact. The United Arab Emirates has said it would also send 500 police to Bahrain. Witnesses saw some 150 light armoured troop carriers, ambulances, water tankers and jeeps cross into Bahrain via the 25-km (16-mile)causeway and head towards Riffa, a Sunni area that is home to the royal family and military hospital. Bahrain TV later showed footage it said was of advance units of the joint regional Peninsula Shield forces that had arrived in Bahrain "due to the unfortunate events that are shaking the security of the kingdom and terrorising citizens and residents." It later said a second wave of forces had arrived. Analysts say the largest contingent in a GCC force would come from Saudi Arabia, worried about spillover to Shi'ites in its own Eastern Province, the centre of its oil industry. Bahraini opposition groups including the largest Shi'ite party Wefaq said the move was an attack on defenceless citizens. "We consider the entry of any soldier or military machinery into the Kingdom of Bahrain's air, sea or land territories a blatant occupation," they said in a statement. "This real threat about the entry of Saudi and other Gulf forces into Bahrain to confront the defenceless Bahraini people puts the Bahraini people in real danger and threatens them with an undeclared war by armed troops." The White House said the United States did not consider the arrival of Saudi security forces to constitution and invasion. It urged the Bahrain government, however, to exercise restraint in upholding order. The arrival of the Saudi forces came after mostly Shi'ite demonstrators overwhelmed Bahraini police on Sunday and blocked the highway to the main financial district in the most violent confrontations since troops killed seven protesters last month. Those barricades were still up on Monday, with protesters checking cars at the entrance to the Pearl roundabout, the focal point of weeks of protests. On the other side of the same highway, police set up a roadblock preventing any cars moving from the airport towards the financial area. |
COMMENTS (3/15/11): The moment protests began in Bahrain, it became clear to me that unrest in that country could well create a pretext for a later invasion by Iran. Now the Saudis have moved troops into the country and the reaction from the Iranian government has been predictable thus far. If things go awry, as they likely will, Iran will have its excuse to invade and occupy Bahrain which it considers to be its 14th province. For this reason, the Shi'a unrest in Bahrain, the Saudi invasion of Bahrain, and the angry reaction and warnings by Iran make this a PREDICTION PARTIALLY FULFILLED. We will wait and see if the rest happens.
