NEW PREDICTION: 8/20/06, TEXT ADDED 11/28/06 -- The above event actually occurs in threee parts. First comes the great earthquake; but we can see by its effects that it is not like any other "great earthquake" in the history of humanity. In particular, to cause the sun to darken and the moon to turn the colour of blood worldwide would require an event of unprecedented magnitude. It would have to be more than a mere earthquake, however large.
In recent years scientists have determined what it would require for the sun and moon to behave in this fashion: a nuclear winter, brought about by a largescale nuclear conflict (likely involving US and Russian arsenals); the atmospheric results of a sizeable asteroid or comet impact; and, most recently, the atmospheric results of a supervolcanic eruption. Due to certain other phenomena mentioned in Revelation Chapter 6, I must conclude that the "great earthquake" will not be manmade (thus ruling out a nuclear war scenario). Also, an asteroid or comet impact capable of producing such a change in sun and moon globally would have to be a "planet-killer" and would likely exterminate the entire human race as well as many other life forms. This leaves only a supervolcanic eruption as the most likely cause.
There are three supervolcanoes most likely to erupt in the near future: Toba in Indonesia, the Phlegraean Fields in Italy, and Yellowstone in the United States. Of the three, only Yellowstone is overdue for another eruption.
There is also the question of timing in prophecy. We know that 1) World War III and "the Comet", along with unprecedented global cataclysms, will occur at about the same time and 2) World War III will ultimately be fought on the battlefields of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. The invasion of Europe by Russian/Eastern armies and subsequent Islamic war in southern Europe would be completely impossible if the supervolcano at the Phlegraean Fields erupted. Mobilising armies under those conditions could simply not be done. Toba and Yellowstone remain possibilities; however, prophecies like those of St. Hildegarde's appear to suggest that it will be the great nation in North America, the United States, that will suffer the greatest geological damage during time of war. That certainly narrows it down to Yellowstone.
So, what about the second part of Revelation 6:12-17: The sun becoming black "as sackcloth of hair," the moon turning "the colour of blood," and the stars falling "like unripe figs?" The part regarding the stars may be hard to explain, unless at this time Earth is also passing through a meteor swarm associated with a giant celestial body.
Despite computer models showing a 20-year "nuclear winter" following a super-eruption, such a scenario is unlikely. Such a situation would result in human extinction, and such complete destruction of humanity is never to be found in prophecy. Somehow, a sizable portion of mankind survives. The truth is no one has ever observed or recorded a super-eruption and its consequences. Scientists also admit no two super-eruptions will likely be the same: some will be more powerful than others. It may be that the eruption of Yellowstone will be bad enough to trigger geological upheavals worldwide, but not bad enough to cause 20 years of "nuclear winter."
Rather than a "nuclear winter" there may instead be a "nuclear autumn." A relatively shorter period of perhaps a year or less may ensue where the upper atmosphere is filled with dust or ash, obscuring the sun, moon, and stars. It may or may not result in lower temperatures. In a greenhouse situation where enough CO2 is also released, things may actually get hotter.
Line
3 has alchemic undertones. Otherwise, I believe this quatrain
provides us with the length the two luminaries will be obfuscated
and discoloured: eleven months. The French astrologer may have
never lived to see the invention of the telescope, but he knew
from his lessons in natural astrology (the forerunner of modern
astronomy) that the moon needs the sun's radiance in order to
reflect its own light back to the earth. It is doubtful he
understood the scientific reasons behind why the sun and moon
would one day appear perpetually eclipsed. Since the moon passes
from full phase to full phase over a period of almost one month
(29.5 days), the number of "times" the moon will be
lacking the sun is another way of saying that this condition will
persist for a little less than eleven months (10.87 months).
Thus, an era of darkness will cover the Earth from some point in May 2008 and gradually clear until April 2009, at which time normal sunlight and moonlight will return. Of course this will only be true if the May 2008 vector is correct. If the vector is sooner, then normalcy will return sooner. If later, then the "end of the tunnel" will be reached later.
However, whenever the darkness clears in 2009, something else will be seen in the heavens.
The remainder of Revelation 6:12-17 is seemingly inexplicable. For humans to see what is described unfold, the period of darkness must end. This is how we know that the opening of the sixth seal occurs in three parts and does not happen all at one time.
By
August 2009, Planet X and World War III will be approaching a
mutual peak as Russia and the Islamic armies led by Iran invade
Europe. In September, as Russia is forced into a retreat by
deadly "yellow dust" (Irlmaier, Stieglitz), the Muslim
armies begin to prosecute a war in southern Europe. The sun will
seem to halt in the heavens as a million French citizens are
killed by weapons of fire from the sky.
Now the heavens appear like a scroll rolling up, mountains and islands flow with lava or slide under the seas, world leaders and military leaders alike prepare to enter their underground cities and bunkers as unprotected citizens seek refuge in caves and tunnels and any underground dwellings or shelters they can find.
Even this section can be broken into two parts, for the final appariton is the face of God Himself, or so it will seem. This is the great "Day of Wrath," and marks the closest approach of Planet X in November 2009. At this time the very worst catastrophes Planet X will be capable of causing will take place. The prophesied "three days of darkness" will also occur during which over two billion souls will die. Extremely severe geological disturbances will continue until June 2010. Thus, the entire passage of Planet X will run from April 2009 to June 2010. Less severe but damaging meteor storms, weeks of non-stop rainfall and lightning storms on end, major inundations, and earthquakes will continue as PX exerts influence from a distance until May 2011.
These second and third stages of the sixth seal will be covered again on the 2009 and 2010 pages as they are developed.
April 17, 2008 (7:09 PM EDT), UPDATED May 21, 2008 (1:35 AM EDT): According to the Drudge Report, based on statistics at International Programs Center at http://www.census.gov/ipc/www/popclockworld.html, the world population will be 6,666,666,666 on May 10, 2008.
I find this quite disturbing when we consider the following quatrain by Nostradamus:
This quatrain is dated astrologically as May 10, although there is no year given. Even so, the fact that a significant occult number, 666, associated with great evil and found in the Book of Revelation, shall be achieved by the world population on that day and month is more than a bit disturbing when one considers the following projections for a global earthquake or supervolcanic eruption I have made using the base 7 system.
Midwestern United States Rocked by Massive
Earthquakes (January/February 2008)
The projection of May 2008, by itself, is remarkable only from the perspective of a base 7 patterning of the Point Mugu (1973), Whittier Narrows (1987), Northridge (1994) and Nisqually (2001) earthquakes and the eruption of Mount St Helen's (1980). That there exists a Nostradamus quatrain that further supports a major earthquake occurring on May 10 is possibly only coincidental in this instance since a year is not provided.
However, the fact that May 10 shall be linked to the number 666 during this year, and only during this year, should be cause for considerable alarm.
The
seismic troubles Nostradamus describes in Quatrain 9.83 is far
beyond that of any normal killer quake. It is powerful enough to
not only cause darkness to fill the air, sky, and land, but also
to turn the faithless and those of other faiths towards God and
the saints.
666, the number of man and also the number of the beast can further be expressed as a possible code for the opening of the sixth seal of Revelation which unleashes the universal earthquake, the moon of blood, the blackened sun, and nameless horrors in the heavens that may be associated with the ultimate arrival of Planet X.
Did
Nostradamus' Great May 10 Earthquake Strike in China?
In Quatrain 9.83 above, Nostradamus foresaw a terrible earthquake, "the great theatre filled up is ruined" and "the earth, sky, and land darkened and troubled" happening on May 10 (no year given) when "the infidel calls upon God and the saints." Is it possible that this may apply to the recent China quake? The earthquake struck on May 12, 2008 at 06:28:01 UTC (2:28: 01 PM EDT), missing Nostradamus' date by only two days.
There is no question that China is a largely atheistic country ("infidel") and we have seen the "darkness" in the air covering the land in the form of dust. Although I applied this quatrain and the date the world population would reach 6,666,666,666 more to the long-awaited West Coast quake and Yellowstone erupting, in a much larger sense, I clearly indicated that May 10 would approximate the date of the opening of the sixth seal of Revelation and the so-called "universal earthquake."
Is the breaking of the Sixth Seal of Revelation taking place slowly?
If we focus away from the failure of the West coast to deliver a major quake or Yellowstone to erupt (so far anyway), May 2008 has indeed been a scary month ... and the month is far from over. The Chaiten Volcano could yet be a precursor to Yellowstone I suppose, and was a major event in and of itself; another massive temblor rattled Tokyo and other parts of Japan; the cyclone in Myanmar has caused unprecedented casualties and destruction; and now a new "Great China Quake" ... hardly a week passes without some new geological or weather-related horror since Chaiten blew its top. And all of this activity has occurred in May.

Are we witnessing events that shall continue to accumulate and worsen over the course of May until the sixth seal has finally been opened?
What about the July 2008 vector for an asteroid impact (or was our near miss in January our close call)? Even if Toutatis or some other space rock doesn't smack into the sea or ocean in that month, I think I'd be concerned about something nearly as bad happening, given what is already occurring in the world in a month that was supposed to be the eruption of the Yellowstone caldera. At the current rate events are taking place, the world may well be in nearly as bad a shape by the end of May as it would have if Yellowstone had erupted ... or even worse by July.

NEW PREDICTION: 12/11/07 -- I guess Al Qaeda or the nation of Iran will not like the prospects for Middle East peace very much. This will be a very nightmarish attack in May 2008, possibly involving the use of a nuclear weapon or device. People will gawk at the destruction on television in total awe and disbelief. No one will have seen such a thing at sea in modern times.

It may be part of a stage act that goes horribly wrong. The fire will be so all-consuming; she shall seem lost forever like Joan d'Arc! But miracles of miracles ... Will she survive? UPDATED October 3, 2007, POSTED October 16, 2007: Age 50 is literally Madonna's deadline: she must succeed or else die as a sacrifice to the great ones. Britney Spears, a member of the modern-day version of the Babylonian entu (read on), also intended to be her potential successor, now appears to be marked for premature termination. Termination ages normally end with 0 and vary from 30 to 60, depending on the purpose of the mind slave and the mission. A mission accomplished is the only way to survive for some; for others, such as simple sex slaves (who are largely disposable), this will not matter. Anna Nicole died voluntarily of drugs overdose at age 39 because she was marked for termination as a human sacrifice at age 40.
However, before the scarlet whore can fully ascend to her supreme position, there remains one last rite of passage, by far the most dangerous of all. It is win or lose for Madonna next year as she must mark the start of her 50th year with yet another musical tour. Note that three of the four elements of Nature have been thoroughly explored during her last three tours: water (Drowned World), earth (Re-Invention), and air (Confessions). Now comes fire and the ultimate baptism.

Madonna may arrive in Spain, and other places on her tour, riding a large bull (real or artificial). This is symbolic as the goddess Europa also rode a bull and this represents the European Union itself. Europa was the Great Goddess and Mother of the continent of Europe. In the book of Revelation, goddess and bull undergo a metamorphosis into the great whore who sits upon many waters and also sits upon a scarlet coloured beast. Thus, Madonna symbolically sits upon the beast on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea like the goddess Europa. According to the original Greek myth, the climax of the tour shall take place on the island of Crete. |  |
Obscurely, Nostradamus tells us this shall all occur at a pivotal moment in one of the current or future Middle East wars. Note that the "lady" will desire to cause Christians ("Innocents") to be burned alive as a public spectacle. Perhaps these victims are those who will reject Kabbalah and her ugly sister Scientology as true faiths (even as I write, Scientology has carried out two spectacular murders, one of them possibly at the behest of the United States government, see 2009 (Part Two)). However, if this is part of a Madonna rock tour, it is more likely to be conducted via special effects. Madonna, after all, did not actually nail her wrists and ankles to the cross in last year's tour. Still, this will send the world a powerful message.
The quatrain also describes either the physical destruction or "spiritual" transformation of Madonna by fire. This may play out in one of two ways: being burned at the stake like Jean d'Arc or merging the crucifixion ritual from 2006 with a sacrificial burning to Baal ("bull"), the god of fertility. Thus, Madonna is transformed from her role as female Christ and bearer of the world's sins into the goddess Ishtar.

"monstrous bull" or "ox" failed to appear
when Kylie Minogue's KYLIEX2008
Tour reached Madrid Spain on June 03 2008 at
Palacio De Los Deportes.
Indeed,
not even a mechanical bull was available as seen here on her 2007
television special. There was no shortage of "sacrificial
virgins" however.
UPDATE (8/3/08): This
was something of a shock to learn: that pop singer/entertainer Kylie
Minogue would be appearing live in Madrid,
Spain during the May/June 2008
vector ... on 3 June. I had already used Kylie's
images from her 2001 lingerie commercial where she rides a
mechanical bull to dramatise the following remark from my
prediction: "Do not ride the great bull,
or any other horned monster, for yet the third
time. Once was obscene, twice was sacrilidge, but
thrice shall be a great wickedness unpardonable and bring great
evil upon the innocents."
I must stress that at the time I placed these images on the prediction in July 2007 it was purely for dramatisation purposes. I had absolutely no intention of associating Kylie Minogue with the above prediction at all, but rather, was implying Madonna or, if not her, then someone else not known at the time.
However, since the release of Kylie's album 'X' in Europe late last year, along with the TV special and videos, some of which are quite dark in nature, I have suggested since that she may be competing with Madonna for the role of Whore of Babylon or attempting to set herself up as a possible successor.
How strange then to discover her reprising her mechanical bull ride in 2007. With two famous bull rides to her credit, the prediction warned against a third such attempt.
It would appear Ms Minogue did the right thing and avoided introducing the bull theme into her tour.
Now, however, it is Madonna's turn. Kylie did not appear at Seville (Sevilla), but rather Madrid. In Nostradamus' above quatrain, Seville could have stood for the whole of Spain (and, thus, anywhere in Spain ... any city).
But now, Madonna, who is without question one to whom this prediction is applied, has announced that she shall be appearing in her Sticky & Sweet Tour in Seville on 16 September 2008.
Once again one wonders what shall be her stage themes, what special effects she shall use, what great and stellar point she shall try to bring across to her millions of fans? Will religion play a key factor again as it did in 2006? Only the high priestess of Kabbalah and whore of Babylon herself knows that.
Will something go terribly wrong with the stage effects since the 'lady' (Madonna) is engulfed by the 'true flame?' It is not difficult to imagine the setting afire of 'sacrificial virgins' as part of a magic illusion using pyro-technics, a sensational visual effect for stage. However, this true fire can still symbolise something else, suggesting some kind of spiritual conversion.
The bulls do not run in Seville in September as far as I know. But the golden bull god Molech is always eager for a sacrifice ... the god honoured by Ishtar, Madonna's aspiration, to become that very goddess. We shall see what wonders and dark miracles the great avatar herself shall weave. In Seville ... soon she arrives!

As many of you may know, in terms of the Triple Crown races we have been in something of a very long drought. There hasn't been a triple crown winner since 1978. The chance for that to happen again came in 2005; but the horse with greatest potential in 25 years, Funny Cide, entered prematurely in 2003 and lost, then Smarty Jones let everyone down in 2004. As a result, there were no contenders for 2005 ... or 2006.
What happened? Think

winning in the 2000s until you have the horse that breaks the
long drought first. Seattle Slew (1977) and Affirmed (1978) were
number 2 and 3 after the horse that made it possible for winners
to happen again in the 1970s: Secretariat!
2008 is the year to bet on whoever the front running horse is for the American Triple Crown (if there is one). I knew Funny Cide would lose in 2003 and I knew Smarty Jones would lose in 2004. The years were all wrong. Since Affirmed (1978) we have been in a long drought similar in length to the one that intervened between Citation (1948) and Secretariat (1973). This drought can only end in a year like the year that broke the drought following Citation: a year like the year Secretariat won (1973). That comes next in June 2008.
Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense need only win the Preakness and he will be favoured to win the Belmont this year, 2007. I cannot tell you for certain that he will lose. If this year is like 1979 all over again, the year we are now aligned with, he will lose. But, as many of you know, there can be an adjacent influence from a year either side of the target year. Thus, the influence of 1973, which should repeat next year in 2008, could spell victory a year early for Street Sense in 2007.
On the darker side, it appears we have already experienced our Charles Whitman redux a year early at Virginia Tech, so one cannot rule out a Secretariat-type win a year early either.
However, I will say this much: if Street Sense fails to deliver this year, I will be very resolute in saying that 2008 will be the year for the first Triple Crown winner since 1978, and I will be betting everything I can afford to lose on any horse with promise that wins both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness and is headed for the Belmont next year.
In any event, folks, this an alert! It is going to happen. We are definitely in the ballpark for either 2007 or 2008 to witness a truly rare event in horse racing history. My best advice: bet cautiously this year at the Belmont even if Street Sense wins the Preakness; the chances are high that he will probably lose. And if he does lose, be very confident about 2008 and bet very high, for whoever the favourite is will make history!
If Street Sense wins this year, still bet high in 2008. I've a feeling that 2008 is still meant to be the year and we will witness a double championship period like 1977 and 1978. Who knows? Maybe Street Sense will be the first horse to win the Triple two years in a row!

NEW PREDICTION: 5/19/08 -- There is a chance that the 5.2 earthquake that struck Britain back in February 2008 was a faint echo of the lonng-ago event which inspired this prediction. That could mean this prediction was fulfilled weakly and a bit early. The quake, with a preliminary measurement of magnitude 5.6, shook buildings and sent residents running into the streets. Colombian Interior Minister Carlos Holguin confirmed that six people were killed by falling rocks and earth on a highway between Bogota and Villavicencio. The quake started about 2:20 p.m. local time (19:20 GMT) and was centered about 30 miles (50 kilometers) southeast of the capital, the U.S. Geological Survey said. It struck at a depth of just 6 miles (10 kilometers) and lasted about 40 seconds. Shallower earthquakes are felt more strongly than those that occur deep in the earth. A number of smaller aftershocks were felt over the next hour. Many people fled buildings, fearing that they could collapse, and anxiously waited on the streets of Bogota. Phone systems were down briefly, and calls to officials went unanswered. President Alvaro Uribe ordered officials to assess the damage quickly "to learn how to help the community." Emergency crews reported that a church in Puenquetame, about 20 miles (35 kilometers) southeast of Bogota, suffered serious structural damage, according to Luza Amanda Pulido, director of the president's disaster office. NEW PREDICTION: 7/5/07 -- I think we can eliminate the Jordanian royal family from this prediction, even though Jordan is included in this vector. There is a chance that King Hussein will be assassinated in 2007; however there is little chance of Jordan being taken over by Iran or Al Qaeda/Taliban in 2008. That is because there is a very strong vector for a military alliance between Jordan and Egypt to be formed in April 2009 against Iran and its proxy satellite state Iraq.
I would suggest that it is Saudi Arabia or an oil kingdom like Kuwait (perhaps more than one) that shall see this atrocity take place in June 2008. It is hard to be sure if Iran or its allies in Afghanistan and Pakistan (Al Qaeda and the "new" Taliban) will be responsible for this. This operation will be quick and surprise everyone, causing the United States to send troops into Saudi Arabia to battle Iran and its allies as prophesied by the Seer of Waldviertel and Erna Steiglitz.

LONDON, England (CNN) -- The British Museum plans to display a statue of supermodel Kate Moss that it bills as the largest gold statue built since ancient Egypt. The statue of Kate Moss will be displayed in the British Museum in a gallery holding anicent Greek sculpture. Called "Siren," the statue will be part of a group of major sculptures by leading British artists to go on display at the museum in October, the museum announced. The museum says the artist, Marc Quinn, claims it's the largest gold statue since ancient Egypt. The Kate Moss statue will be displayed in a gallery of the museum that houses ancient Greek sculpture. The museum calls it a "fitting setting" for the statue of Moss, "interacting with the great Greek beauties that surround it." The exhibit is expected to run from October 4 through January 25, 2009. |

NEW PREDICTION: 11/3/06 -- Not since the days when Ronald Reagan called Russia "the Evil Empire" will tensions be as great between the United States and the Russian Federation. Russian incursions in the Gulf of Bothnia, the North Sea, and in Japanese waters, a crisis involving US and Russian warships, along with Moscow's deepening alliance with Iran and other Iranian allies in the Middle East and former Soviet Union, will raise American concerns that the Russian leadership is preparing for war against US and Western interests. Russia will likewise complain of Nato and the EU encroaching upon Russia's borders and blast America's support for civil war in Georgia and revolutions in Hungary and Ukraine.
What will initially be candidate Hillary Clinton's opportunity in July 2008 to expound upon her ideas of improving the changing relationship between the two largest nuclear powers in the world and clarify the issue of mutual responsibility in a new climate of internationalism will deteriorate into a verbal slugfest with the new Russian president, Vladimir Zhirinovsky. During this "debate" the world will see Russia with new eyes and feel the shadow of the terrible war to come that will dwarf all other ongoing conflicts. Zhirinovsky will show he is a man to be truly feared, and will make Iran's president seem like a lightweight in comparison. Not since the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis will Americans feel such insecurity, as will many Europeans, and this unease will continue for many, many more months.

Recent concerns by
astronomers that an asteroid could collide with the earth in the
near future -- with little or no advance detection -- appear to
be well-founded in the above verses. Several near-misses have
already occurred, although most of the objects in question were
less than 200 feet in circumference. However, one of these close
encounters, which took place in November 1996, involved a body of
more formidable dimensions.
Every four years an asteroid named Toutatis passes uncomfortably close to the earth. This elongated rock -- which measures nearly a mile across -- also possesses another feature of interest: it rolls end over end in a tumbling motion. It is the only near-earth planetoid that behaves in this manner, eerily similar to the "mountain" that "rolls long" in Quatrain 1.69.
If Toutatis is the asteroid predicted by Nostradamus, it will smash into the Aegean or Ionian sea at the start of or part-way through the reign of Hieron (anagram of Chiren).
When?Evidence in the Epistle to Henry II and the quatrains place Chiren's rule as king of France and later as emperor in the 2008 - 2016 period. France will, in fact, begin chairing the EU presidency in July 2008. Thus, should the object in question be Toutatis, and taking into consideration its four-year orbit, the likeliest time of its impact will be the year 2008. I have for some time believed that the following prophecy no longer applies to Toutatis or any other asteroid bound to strike earth in 2008. Those reading the email forums over the last few years and the Prophetic Messenger Forum would know this:
Unlike the asteroid of Nostradamus's prophecy, this biblical mountain from the sky shall strike one of earth's major oceans. We know the recently-discovered asteroid Apophis shall strike earth in either April 2029 or April 2036 according to astronomers (note the seven year period between 2029 and the second pass in 2036). Russian astronomers now favour a 2029 impact. There is a dream by website viewer and forum contributer Conor that I shall soon post which supports the 2029 dating.
What then are the chances of an impact in the Mediteranean per Nostradamus's quatrains? There has been no discussion of Toutatis yet by the media, but now there is talk of an asteroid that may strike earth on January 29, 2008 .... and it moves in a tumbling motion like Toutatis!

PARIS -- A huge asteroid will zoom past Earth next week at such a close distance that amateur astronomers should be able to spot it, specialists said on Wednesday.
Measuring between 150 and 600 meters across, asteroid 2007 TU24 would inflict devastating regional damage were it to hit Earth, but there is no risk of any collision, they said.
It will fly by on Tuesday, being around 534,000 kilometers (334,000 miles) from the Earth at its closest point at 0834 GMT, according to a Near Earth Object (NEO) database compiled by the University of Pisa in Italy. "For a brief time the asteroid will be observable in dark and clear skies with amateur telescopes of three inches (7.5 centimeters) or larger," NASA said on its NEO site.
2007 TU24 will make the closest approach of any known potentially hazardous asteroid of this size or larger until 2027, NASA said, adding that objects of this size come close to Earth about every five years or so on average. The rock was discovered only last October under a surveillance program run by the University of Arizona.
According to the Minor Planet Center of the Paris-based International Astronomical Union (IAU), the closest detected approach by an asteroid was on March 31, 2004 by 2004 FU162, which came within 6,500 kilometers (4,000 miles) of Earth.
The day after 2007 TU24's terrestrial flyby, asteroid 2007 WD5 is expected to come within 26,000 kilometers (16,250 miles) of Mars, a distance that is less than a whisker in space terms. 2007 WD5 ignited a brief surge of excitement among astronomers after it was discovered in November.
Initial computations of its orbit gave a roughly 1-in-25 chance that it might whack into Mars on January 30, providing a celestial show that could be monitored by US and European scoutcraft there.
Measuring about 50 meters (165 feet) across, it would have delivered an impact equivalent to a three-megaton nuclear weapon. A rock of this size exploded over Tunguska, Siberia, in 1908, felling around 80 million trees over 2,200 square kilometers (850 square miles).
But further calculation showed that the hoped-for big splat would be a big miss. "It's highly unlikely that it's going to hit," said NEO expert Benny Peiser of Liverpool John Moores University in northwestern England, as the odds of a collision by 2007 WD5 fell to around 0.01 percent, or one in 10,000.
December 26, 2007 (3:15 AM EST): The latest reports concerning asteroid 2007 WD5 could be considered an example of "first here's the good news, then here's the bad." With a 1 in 75 chance -- and narrowing! -- of slamming into Mars on January 30, 2008, this will be the first event of this type to take place in nearly fourteen (2 x 7) years since fragments of the comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 smacked into Jupiter in July 1994.
This is not a minor event by any means ... if it occurs. The impacts on Jupiter in 1994 were the base 7 precedent for my projection of earth being struck by an asteroid in July 2008 ... fourteen years later. The asteroid I selected when I made the prediction back in 1998 was Toutatis, largely because it is a near earth asteroid that passes closely every four years, 2008 being its next passage, and its shape, size, and movement matches that of the asteroid in Quatrain 1.69 by Nostradamus:
Toutatis made a close pass by earth on Halloween night, 2004 ... supposedly the closest for many years. Its 2008 passage is not supposed to be nearly as close as in 2004. Yet, with the second largest recorded dust storm ever on Mars this last summer, Comet Holmes brightening a millionfold from obscurity to brilliant naked eye magnitude on October 23, 2007 (yes, even I could not miss this one with my own eyes), and now this possible collision between asteroid 2007 WD5 and Mars, it is clear that something out there in the neighbourhood between Mars and Jupiter is causing these unusual events in space. That same "something" could easily perturb the orbit of Toutatis when it moves past earth this comming year, or some other asteroid or celestial body, causing it to impact in the Aegean or Ionian sea. And that "something" may well be Planet X.
In any event, "the good news" is that if asteroid 2007 WD5 does indeed slam into Mars on January 30, 2008, it will be following a base 7 line or path running from Jupiter to Mars to Earth to Venus to (possibly) Mercury. If the impact on Mars is sufficently dynamic and observable from earth, then it is quite likely our planet may at least be spared an impact by an asteroid in July 2008. In other words, the event that was projected for earth in 2008 may happen to Mars instead, thus deferring the Earth impact at least 14 years into the future, but more probably 28 years. That, interestingly enough, takes us to April 2036: the month and year Apophis is to strike.
However, the big question is: was Mars already hit by an asteroid or comet since 1994? At a time close to 7 years later (allowing for an adjacent fulfillment a year before [6 years] or a year late [8 years] )? The answer may be yes. On June 5, 2000, there were many people who believed that a comet called 76P West-Kohoutek-Ikemura struck Mars. No one has been able to prove or disprove this claim: only that the devastation this was to bring to earth in the form of a giant red dust cloud, Martian fragments striking major oceans and seas, and its moon Phobos shearing the earth's upper atmosphere never materialised (although I and a friend and his family did witness the rust-coloured dust in the darkness of the country in October of that year).
Still, if this collision did happen in 2000, and asteroid 2007 WD5 fails to strike Mars next month, then we remain on track for an asteroid impact occurring here on earth this year, probably close to the day of August 9, 2008, which is also the Hebrew 9th of Av, the day of destruction. The asteroid may still be Toutatis, as originally projected, especially if its orbit is perturbed by the gravitational influence of Planet X.
Then again, the object in question could be the one I saw in a dream vision: a black, obelisk-shaped moon seen at the upper right hand of Planet X.
I knew when I saw it that it would cause as much or more destruction than Planet X itself ... this time around. If so, this may mean the so-called "deep space" planet formerly named Xena, and now called Eris (the goddess of chaos, strife and discord), is indeed the real Planet X, and its moon, Gabrielle, now called Dysnomia (the daimon goddess of lawlessness, anarchy, and mob violence, also the daughter of Eris) is the seventh obelisk (seventh rock of the Apocalypse).

When Planet X is apparent by both day and night as Eris, France will begin experimenting with the "yellow dust" chem-bio weapon Alois Irlmaier warns will be used against Russia when it invades Europe. Also at this time, the US fleet will be attacked by Russian and Iranian air and naval forces, and a bloody revolution or civil war shall break out in Germany (sow), incited by Russian spetsnaz agents (bear). This terrifying quatrain confirms that Planet X will be apparent at the same time World War III is begun in Europe by Russia ... only a short while before total thermonuclear war breaks out between Russia and the United States.
Nostradamus may have done what often many medieval writers did: chop off the century number from a date (thus, 66 rather than 1666) and exaggerate lengths of time (in this case, 40 years rather than 4). Initially, most Planet X "scholars" believed it would arrive in the year 2003: even Russia prepared for the possibility their country would cease to exist in that year according to one of their own news articles. If it did reach us in that year, it has remained unseen, hidden; however, I believe it is only now approaching us and will begin to make its first serious impact on our planet in the year 2008. It will not actually be seen until 2009, but its influence will be seen next year ... and possibly its wayward moon Gabrielle shall strike the planet with full force:
Thus 2003 + 4 = 2007: the period Eris was expected to appear and did not. 2008 + 4 = 2012: the period of what I believe shall be a lengthy passage, with the worst of it occurring between April 2009 and May 2011. However, since Planet X is bound not only by Newtonian physics but also by the laws of God Himself, there remains the chance that Planet X will be held back until the Mayan end date year of 2012. Also, deeply encoded into Nostradamus' own prophecies for the months and year February and December 2044 is the distinct possibility that our planet shall be given one "last chance" at normality: 2003 + 40 = 2043. Many Old European prophecies date the comming war as beginning in 2038 and the Egyptian prophecies likewise foretell of a warning in the sky in 2034 and the birth of a new messiah in either 2039 or 2041.
This is my way of introducing you all to a greater mystery: is our generation "the sixth seal generation of Revelation," "the seventh seal, seventh angel age generation of Revelation" or both? What shall be discussed in these pages as I broaden the scope of this complex riddle is the possibility of three futures: World War III in Europe and Planet X in 2009, World War III in Europe and Planet X in 2012, or World War III in Europe and Planet X between 2038 and 2044.

2008 THE Earth has survived a close encounter with a chunk of space rock travelling at more than 29,000 miles per hour. The cosmic close-call happened on Tuesday when the asteroid, named 2008-TC3 by Nasa, drifted within a mere 7,600 miles (12,200km) of the planet. It was predicted to enter the Earth's atmosphere above Northern Sudan, Africa, at approximately 01:46 UTC, though not expected to survive. Pilots of a KLM flight around 750 miles away reported an aerial flash around the time the asteroid was expected. It is not yet known whether the object skipped off the atmosphere and back out into space, or burned up. Approaches by so-called Near Earth Objects (NEOs) are usually measured in lunar distances, equivalent to around 384,000 kilometres, which is the average between the Earth and the Moon. Most float harmlessly past our planet at ranges far greater than 1LD, with recently observed NEO's tracking at anything from 5 to 65LD (1.92million km to 24.9million km). By comparison, 2008-TC3 came within 0.02LD.
The size of the crater, however, would depend on the composition of the meteorite and the ground it struck. One indicator of the devastating power of impacts can be seen in the Barringer Crater, otherwise known as Meteor Crater, near Flagstaff, Arizona, in the United States. The asteroid responsible is estimated to have been 50m across - 10 times the size of 2008-TC3 - and exploded with the force of 150 atom bombs. It left a crater about 1,200m (4,000ft) in diameter, around 170m deep (570ft), which is surrounded by a rim that rises 45m (150ft) above the surrounding plains. |
COMMENTS (10/15/08): This asteroid, had it struck, would have been a city-killer, not a planet-killer. Imagine, even so, what would have occurred had 2008-TC3 struck the banks of the Nile River which seperates Sudan from Egypt. On a much smaller scale we would have witnessed the Mediterranean Sea impact scenario discussed above ... flooding and tidal waves crashing down on both sides wiping out, perhaps, Khartoum and Cairo? This prediction is without a doubt a CLOSE CALL since an air burst by an asteroid is as close as we would want to get to an actual impact.

This quatrain is definitely addressed to an individual despite commentators' efforts to apply it to the world, mankind, France, Europe, the economy, or as an obscure warning against the practice of alchemy. The original ta (your) is often replaced with sa (its) for this purpose. It is not impossible that Sun Myung Moon, the apparent subject of line 1, will still be the spiritual head of the Unification Church in 2008. Born in 1920, he is currently 81 and will be 88 by that year (the late Ayatollah Khomeini, Iran's spiritual leader, was 89 when he died in June 1989). However, should Moon die, the Church will be taken over by his eldest son, Hyo Jin Moon, who might be persuaded to assume his father's name as his title.
Sun Moon has a large following in Europe as well as in America and South Korea. The Unification Church apparently will be tolerated under Chirac's government as a powerful Christian sect. It is clear with all the references to "good" and "well" times, great "abundance," and "fortune" that this event will occur during a time of peace. For some reason the asteroid collision will shaken the faith of Reverend Moon's worshippers and destroy their confidence in the Unification Church. It is even possible that an asteroid fragment in the "same state as the seventh rock" -- if not the asteroid itself -- will cause the physical destruction of the Church's European headquarters. Moon (or his son) and a large number of his followers, in other words, may take a direct hit.
Some commentators refer to this asteroid as the "seventh rock (of the Apocalypse)." However, no such term exists in Revelation or any other biblical prophecy. St. John the Revelator simply calls Toutatis, or whatever the planetoid's name will be, "a great mountain burning with fire." The number seven is probably Nostradamus' fashion of reminding the reader that "the great mountain" will be "seven stades round."
This quatrain is clearly a judgment of the Unification Church and the heretical influence it will hold over many Americans and Europeans during the war years and their aftermath. It is not impossible that the Pope, by marrying the Anglican Communion, and thus, all Protestant beliefs with Catholicism, will give undue support for Moon's church -- a cult which has already courted and lobbied six U.S. presidents and received support and recognition by major evangelical leaders such as Jerry Falwell. The holocaust from space will be divine judgment, especially against southern and eastern Europe, and the spiritual capitals of Rome and Jerusalem, for encouraging millions to worship this man as a messiah.

Sun Myung Moon and members of his family were hurt in the accident, a fire official says. Moon, 88, was slightly injured in the crash, a hospital official said. Members of Moon's family, including his wife, were also hurt, and one person suffered a serious back injury, fire official Kim Wu-jong said. The S-92 helicopter was carrying 16 people, including 13 church members, when it crashed and burst into flames, the transportation ministry said. Moon and the others were treated at the nearby church-affiliated Cheongshim Hospital in Gapyeong, about 37 miles northeast of Seoul, hospital official Park Sung-kwon said. Moon received an X-ray and his condition was not serious, Park said. No details of his injury were given, but the church said in a brief statement on its Web site that Moon and the others were "safe."
Church official Kim Dae-yeol said the helicopter was flying to Cheongshim Hospital from southern Seoul. The Gapyeong area has several church-affiliated facilities including a museum and schools. Moon founded the Seoul-based Unification Church in the 1950s and the conservative Washington Times newspaper in 1982. His church owns hundreds of companies around the world, including the United Press International news agency. The church's doctrine is a mixture of Christian, Confucian and traditional Korean values, and Moon's followers believe he came into the world to complete the work of Jesus Christ. In 2004, Moon was the center of a coronation ceremony in Washington at which he declared himself the Messiah. He also became widely known for performing mass weddings of followers. |
COMMENTS (7/19/08): I have waited through the long dark corridors of nearly two decades to see this prediction fulfilled ... and fulfilled it nearly has been, as projected, in July 2008.
This prediction for disaster striking Sun Myung Moon, his family, and his Unification Church was first inked to paper in 1992 and printed out on the first finished draft of my book, Nostradamus and the Final Age, on a dot-matrix printer in October 1993. Also appearing in the same chapter was my prediction of the death, what I believed would be the murder, of Princess Diana. At that time I had no idea when either of these events would occur. I would not discover the mathematical patterns running throughout history, current events, and the future, which I would call The Base 7 System until January 1996. At that time, I was able to project Diana's death as likely occurring in August 1997 and possible destruction for Sun Myung Moon, his family, and his Church, in July 2008.
The book was produced and very slightly updated in e-book format on CD ROM in September 2000 at which time Moon was 81 years old (as can be seen in the text of the prediction above). I sold several dozen of these discs internationally in 2001 and 2002. I am still deliberating on selling another updated version via traditional book sales or at an online publisher.
So now we must ask ourselves, was this helicopter crash the 'judgment' passed upon Moon and his followers? Or was it merely a warning? Depending on which, the prediction status clearly is PARTIALLY FULFILLED or else a CLOSE CALL.
I have to tell you people, if I were you I'd be scared as hell. This event was linked by Nostradamus to an asteroid striking the earth. If this was a warning, the next time disaster strikes the Unification Church, an asteroid impact may not be far behind.

"But there are weights and Pilates mats in the back of the room. So, it's not unusual for men to come in and grab some weights or a Pilates mat and exit. "After a while, he was shuffling through his bag and then there was -- we were facing the front of the classroom, again, not thinking anything of it, and then the lights went out. As soon as the lights went out, it was uncommon, and our instructor was in the front of the room. I turned to look and that's when I noticed he had two guns in his hand and you could see the fire. From there, I just ran." Gallagher got on the floor. "It was only two minutes, the whole ordeal," she continued. "I ran to the front of the room near the exit. I don't really think I knew I was running toward the emergency exit. But I laid down and I laid on my stomach. I thought, 'That's the best way to go; if I'm gonna get shot, you know, your back is gonna save you more than the front of you,' and I just played dead. I think we all did the same thing." "Of course," Gallagher admitted, she was worried she wouldn't make it out of the classroom alive, "But, you know, I couldn't shut my eyes or anything. I had to keep conscious. Richard Speck is
the basis of
the above prediction "Sorority House
Massacre." Now his name is invoked by psychologists
and sociologists when making comparisons with George Sodini and his dark night of
terror and death in a health club gymnasium. Sodini targeted women
only ... a rare event in the United States (so far).
Indeed, the base 7 vector of July 2008 was arrived at using the infamous July 14, 1966 mass sex slayings of eight student nurses in a south Chicago dormitory by a vagrant merchant marine named Richard Speck as the only precedent in the USA for such a crime. High on alcohol and drugs, Speck threatened and attacked the women with a gun and a butcher's knife, bound and gagged them, then, over the course of the night, raped each one, strangling and/or stabbing each one dead afterwards. A ninth student nurse, Cora Amurao, escaped to testify against him by hiding under a bed while her housemates were killed.
Detectives would find Gloria Davy dead on the sofa, naked and sexually assaulted. Upstairs, Pamela Wilkening had been gagged and stabbed through the heart. Suzanne Farris was in a pool of blood, having been strangled with her own stockings and stabbed 18 times. Mary Ann Jordan was stabbed three times. Nina Schmale was stabbed in a pattern around her broken neck. Valentina Paison's throat had been cut. Merlita Gargullo had been stabbed and strangled. Patricia Matusek was also strangled. The women had been so disfigured that the director of nurses was able to recognize only 3 of them.
What made this case even more horrific as we look back over that year is that only a few weeks later, on August 1, 1966, student Charles Whitman would climb a 27-storey tower at the University of Texas and shoot dead 15 people and wound 31 others before being shot and killed by Austin police. This event I predicted would repeat itself in some manner in August 2008 .... and it did, fifteen and a half months early on April 16, 2007, when lone gunman Seung-Hui Cho, a student, killed 32 people at Virginia Tech, also wounding 23, not only beating Whitman's kill record but nearly doubling it.
Nevertheless, the Speck "Student Nurse Murders" (aka "Richard Speck Sex Murders") and Whitman "Texas Tower Massacre" are unlikely to be forgotten anytime soon since they occurred only a few weeks apart and, thus, shocked the nation, helping to define the violent domestic climate in the United States during the summer of 1966.
The July 2008 vector was (6 x 7) 42 years later than the mid-July 1966 case, thus Sodini's murderous attack in early August 2009 was one year and three weeks later than it should have been.
We should not doubt that what occurred in LA several weeks ago was a mass sex slaying. George Sodini may not have raped, stabbed, and strangled his female victims to death over the course of the late evening and early morning hours of a single night, but sex was his motivation for killing three women and injuring nine others, four of them critically. One can appreciate the horrific nature and potential totality of Sodini's murderous attack even more when one realises that the four women who were so badly injured could have easily been counted among the fatalities. Potentially, the death toll could have been seven rather than three.
An exhaustive research of mass murder of exclusively female victims during a single 24-hour period by male civilian predators since the Second World War, murders not associated with military atrocities, yields very few cases. Richard Speck was the earliest and most infamous such predator in US history. A much later case, the execution-style shooting murders of five Amish school girls by Charles Carl Roberts IV, occurred on October 2, 2006; yet these were not women but very young girls, children between the ages of 6 and 13. Five more girls were critically injured and an eleventh potential victim, a nine-year-old girl, escaped before the slaughter. That was the only case of mass murder on a single day or night of females, females of any age, since the Speck slayings on US soil until almost three weeks ago.
Elsewhere, 14 female students were shot to death on campus by a mass murderer in Montreal, Quebec ("The Montreal Massacre") on December 6, 1989. Ten more women and four men were injured. The killer, Marc Lépine, age 25, announced he was targeting women when he shouted that he was "fighting feminism" as he seperated the males from the females in a classroom where the slayings initially began.
Earlier this year the same thing happened at a
university in Stuttgart, Germany on March 11. Tim Kretschmer, age 17, shot dead eight
female students, three female teachers and one male student (the
male student appeared to have been killed because he had
"gotten in the way"). The teenage gunman specifically
targeted girls as he went on the rampage at his former
school in Germany. Police said the death toll would have been
even worse had it not been for the extraordinary sacrifice of the
three woman teachers, who stood in Kretschmer’s way to
protect their students. I nearly considered the Stuttgart
slayings as a possible fulfiillment of my prediction, but
reconsidered because the event I had in mind would occur in the
United States. However, because of the high body count in
Germany, and also because there was another mass murder by
shooting in Alabama in the same 24-hour period, I considered both
events to be linked and a second fulfillment of the Charles Whitman Texas Tower
Massacre.
Again, in the LA Fitness Centre shootings, the number of dead could have been much higher than three. Easily the number could have been seven or eight if not for some sort of a miracle. The killer's decision to shoot at the women with the lights turned off may have spared Mary Primis, Jackquilyne Gallagher, Lisa Fleeher, Gretchen Lewis, and Heather Sherba from certain death. Had Sodina stalked and shot the women in the same manner as the university shootings of 1989, all 12 would be dead.
Thus, I must now consider my prediction PARTIALLY FULFILLED at around 70% to 75%. However, because Sodini's MO was a mass shooting, rather than rape, strangulation, and/or stabbing, we must continue to acknowledge the possibility that 1) another mass slaying or rash of serial killings against female university students may occur this year with those features and/or 2) the unsolved murders from last year and this year of female students who were raped, shot, or strangled may be connected and have been committed by the same person.
I will now, at this point, delete all cases that have been solved, the murder suspects apprehended, in custody and charged with murder, and either facing a trial date or undergoing a trial in progress. Our focus for the rest of 2009 will be any new unsolved cases and all cold cases sharing the same MO.
November 5, 2009: THIS IS NOW A MAJOR CNN NEWS STORY. It appears we have yet one more facet of this prediction being partially fulfilled. As is written above: "1) another mass slaying or rash of serial killings against female university students may occur this year with those features." Features being: "rape, strangulation, and/or stabbing." Partially fulfilled because: these female victims, so far anyway, were not university students.
The house of horrors and number of female victims (11 thus far) match the prediction I made that this would largely happen in the year 2008. However, certain differences must be noted. The victims, thus far, do not seem to be medical or nursing students. Yet, there are so many identifications to be made, and since a wide range of ages seem to be involved, it may be a while before we know for sure if any university students were murdered. Race is not actually mentioned in my prediction. Along the lines of the Richard Speck case, I expected the victims would be largely white, but also of mixed race and nationality. In this instance, it appears all the victims were African Americans ... but have they accounted for everyone this suspect murdered yet? Also, this is not a mass murder that occurred in one night, but serial killings that happened between 2005 and 2009, with 2008 appearing to possibly be the most prominent year if we also include one victim who was raped but got away and did not go to police.
This is a story in progress. The fullness of it we still do not know and will likely be watching or reading about it for many weeks to come. As more victims are identified, the splash art above will likely change.
| Anthony Sowell, 50, is a registered
sex offender. Now, Sowell is facing five counts
of aggravated murder, rape, felonious assault and
kidnapping, police said. A judge on Wednesday denied bond
for him, saying the latest allegations against him are
"gruesome" and the "most serious" he
has heard in his years on the bench. Eleven victims have been found inside and outside a home adjacent to Ray's -- six inside and five outside. A skull, wrapped in a paper bag and stuffed into a bucket in the basement, apparently is all that remains of one of the, thus far counted, 11 victims. Seven of the victims died from strangulation by a ligature, said Frank Miller, Cuyahoga County coroner. A ligature can include a string, cord or wire. All of the seven still had something tied around their necks, Miller told reporters. An eighth victim died from manual strangulation -- strangulation by hands. Two other bodies were too badly decomposed to determine the cause of death, although Miller said he believes they were victims of "homicidal violence." Autopsy results on the 11th victim are pending. "It's most likely strangulation in all cases," Miller said. The first victim was identified Wednesday as Tonia Carmichael, who was 52 when she was last seen on November 10, 2008, police said in a statement. Carmichael was identified using DNA. She disappeared from Warrensville Heights, a Cleveland suburb near Sowell's home, and her vehicle was found in Cleveland. Tonia's daughter, Danita Carmichael, said she believed more victims may be found. "I think we are going to go as high as 15, 16 on this case because he had five years to do what he did before anybody thought about stopping him." Some of the victims could have been missing for up to five years, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath agreed.

Again, I will repeat. This is another facet of my prediction ... but it is not an exact match for reasons given above. I would daresay that it is yet another PREDICTION PARTIALLY FULFILLED, more closely perhaps even than the Health Club Massacre was. Even so, get enough partials and you end up with "prediction overkill."
I still very much believe the university student murders and missing university students that have occurred since summer 2007, some of them cold cases now, are related. I cannot shake that belief. Not when two of the students who were murdered and another of the students who remains missing (total 3) all were attending the same place: Madison, Wisconsin (Kelly Nolan, Britanny Zimmerman, and Christine Walters). Not when one murder and another missing persons case occurred in North Carolina (Irina Yarmolenko, Kelly Currin Morris). Not when Virginia Tech pops up as a place for the current media-frenzied missing persons case of student Morgan Dana Harrington and one sensational student murder where the guilt of the suspect captured is questionable (Annie Le), as well as an unsolved mysterious death, likely a homicide, of Chilean exchange student Carmen Gloria Sánchez Gutierrez of West Virginia University. And now we have a possible reversal of the infamous Brianna Denison case with the DNA evidence against the one accused of her sex strangulation, James Biela, being reconsidered.
Someone is out there and he is preying largely on female university students and recent college graduates. It may be a long time before we know.
COLD AND NEW CASES MATCHING THE RICHARD SPECK MO
We live in truly horrible times. The catagories of crime we once thought covered all the conditions are mutating and changing, the distinctions between categories blurring more and more. Bizarre, ritualistic, and sexually-motivated murders are also on the increase. Predicting criminal homicide events based on historical precedents will likely become increasingly more difficult as time passes. Although we cannot rule out something quite novel, like a Richard Speck type sex slayer targeting a late night fast food restaurant with only female employees, or stalking, raping and murdering female patrons at an all-night tanning salon (ETC, ETC), or a repeat of the school shooting phenomenon, we are likely left with a number of unsolved cases from 2008 and this year, 2009, many of which are quite similar.
Background
Last year, we began with the highly sensationalised sex slaying of Brianna Denison, age 19, who vanished in mid-January as she slept on the couch at a friend's off-campus house near an unlocked door. Her nude body was finally discovered in February with a pair of thong panties resting on her torso. The alluring beauty, who majored in child psychology, had been raped and strangled. Denison's murder looked like the work of a classic serial killer and fears such a killer was on the loose was to be reported by the media for many months to follow. On March 5, when two coeds, Eve Carson and Lauren Burk, were found lying dead in the street over a nine-hour period, alarm bells begin to ring. Both were from the state of Georgia. Both had been shot multiple times. Both were apparently abducted before being killed. Burk's body was found naked and it became clear that she had been raped. Eve Carson was lightly clad in only a T-shirt and shorts ... strange, considering how cold it was in early March 2008. Due to the location of two of the bullet entry wounds, it remains debatable to this day as to whether she had been sexually molested or not. Carson was a premed student, and was also student president of her university.
Now Nancy Grace, Greta Van Susteren, and others had three dead college girls to talk about on their crime shows. Speculation that a serial killer was on the loose and had claimed two more victims in one single night lasted for over a week until Carson's killers, suspects Demario James Atwater and Lawrence Alvin Lovette were arrested and in custody on March 12 and 13. Burk's murderer, Courtney Lockhart, was arrested three days after the March 5 slaying, but uncertainty hung over his arrest initially. Even though fears that the three murders were connected had been alleviated, parents continued breathing uneasily.
Student Slayings That Still Remain Unsolved Begin to Occur
The following month, April 2008, fears of a serial killer on the loose resurfaced when the body of Brittany Zimmerman, who was majoring in medical microbiology and immunology, was discovered after a frantic 911 call to police. Zimmermann had been strangled and stabbed to death in her off-campus apartment, the door and room revealing signs of forced entry. Sexual assault may also have occurred, but this has not been made public officially. The public began to fear for the safety of their daughters living on college campuses. There had already been two break-ins and sexual assaults of female students in 2007, and a murder of a male student, Joel Marino, in January 2008 at UW-Madison campus residences. Marino's killer was later arrested and charged. In May 2008, Irina Yarmolenko, another medical student, was found strangled dead beside her car. It was later revealed she had been raped. Later in May, Rebecca Payne, another university student, suffered exactly the same fate as Brittany Zimmermann. Again, rape was uncertain.
In June 2008, Nicole Ganguzza, who was completing her Masters in Mental Health Counseling, was found raped and strangled near a jogging path in Florida. Two months later, in August 2008, Carmen Gloria Sánchez Gutiérrez, a Chilean exchange student studying at West Virginia University, went missing and her body was found floating in a river. To this day the medical cause of death has not been revealed. Nor is it known if she died accidentally, committed suicide, or was murdered. Nevertheless, at the time she was found, she looked like part of a monthly series. According to an August 7, 2009 report in a Chilean news service, latercera.com, the husband suspects she was a victim of foul play. If so, she may well be unsolved murder victim number 5 in a series. But we don't really know since US and Chilean authorities, one year on, are so slow or reluctant in pursuing her case. In any event, although she was born in Chile, she died, mysteriously, in West Virginia ... which means she could have been targeted by a serial killer.
In September 2008, a Toronto university student, Yuan (Tracy) Tian, was found stabbed to death in her off-campus apartment, her body naked, her hands and arms bound to a chair in what sounds like a bondage-style sex slaying. Yet again, she looked like a part of a monthly series. However, a month later, the trail went cold and nothing more was ever reported. Although Tian was murdered in Canada, and not in the US, the southern province of Ontario where Toronto is located shares an intimate border with New York State. While I do admit it is a long shot, a serial killer roaming the east coast who happened to be in New York certainly could have easily crossed into Ontario and been in Toronto in virtually no time.
The new year began in the state of Texas when medical student Dana Clair Edwards was found strangled inside her off-campus apartment in the early hours of January 2, 2009, with no sign of forced entry. Another case, that of fashion student Carmen Saldana, found dead July 12, 2009, bears a striking resemblance to the break-in murders of Zimmermann, Payne, and Tian. Like Zimmerman, Yarmolenko, and Ganguzza, Saldana was raped and strangled. More on the Edwards and Saldana cases follow.
The highly publicised strangulation murder of university student Annie Le soon followed the Saldana case; however her killer was found and apprehended before mention of the case could be posted on this page. Since the killer has been arrested, charged, and is to be tried for murder, there is no longer any point in associating her murder with the others, despite the matching MO. Two other high profile strangulation murders of young women have also occurred since that of Annie Le (Jennifer L. Shively and Cindy Sumner); however the victims' profiles do not match the others since neither was a college or university student. Still, for the time being anyway, they appear below because both were Ohio women murdered in Toledo within days of each other.
A Cold Case From July 2007 ... In Madison, Wisconsin
This has only now come to my attention. Apparently there was another young female student murdered at the same college that Brittany Zimmermann attended ... in Madison, Wisconsin. This occurred the previous year, on July 9, 2007. However, I note that my prediction was posted to this page on April 16, 2007. Technically, any unsolved murder of a female student that occurred during 2007 after I posted my prediction can, if applicable, be considered along with those who were killed in 2008 and 2009. The case of Kelly Nolan is without question applicable.

It was Friday night of June 23, 2007 when 22-year-old
college student Kelly Nolan left her home to
meet friends at a bar in Madison,
Wisconsin. Police say she and three girlfriends
spent the evening at a bar in the State Street area of
Madison. About 11:30 p.m., Nolan and her friends
separated, because her friends wanted to go home, and
Nolan continued on to another bar. It is unclear exactly
whom Nolan was with afterward. Two weeks after she went missing that night, on July 9, 2007, her body was found in a wooded area on private property 11 miles from where she'd last been seen. Police soon afterward declared that Kelly Nolan had been murdered. However, to this very day, well over two years after the crime was committed, Nolan's cause of death (strangled, stabbed, shot, etc) and condition of her body (clothed, partially clothed, nude, bruised, signs of ligatures anywhere, presence of drugs in her body or near her corpse, raped, sexually assaulted, etc) have never been revealed. There have been no suspects in her death. Her killer has never been caught and is out there ... free to kill again. The Nolan case, like the later Zimmermann case, is very, very cold and getting colder by the day .... |
Thus, Kelly Nolan and Britanny Zimmermann may well be linked as victims of the same murderer ... a possible serial killer who stalked his victims in Madison, Wisconsin.

22-year-old Kelly Nolan went missing after a night of drinking near State Street on June 23, 2007, and was found slain on July 9, 2007, in a wooded area of Fitchburg, Wisconsin. Joel Marino was found collapsed in the alleyway near his home as he tried to reach St. Mary's Hospital just yards away after having been stabbed in a stranger-invasion January 28, 2008. Brittany Zimmermann was murdered in an eerily similar manner on April 2, 2008, in another apparent stranger-invasion. A botched 911 call ignited outrage and became the centre of the investigation into her murder. Unfortunately, as focus on the 911 call took precedence, search for her killer became neglected and turned Zimmermann's murder into the second cold case of the university area. Madison police have kept both the Nolan and Zimmermann cases largely shrouded in secrecy. Marino's alleged killer has since been arrested and placed on trial.

rapes in the university area. It was also reported that Biela used thong panties to strangle Brianna Denison with ... the same panties that were found on her nude body in February. Denison officially died of "asphyxiation to strangulation by ligature." The ligature marks on her neck were the same size and shape as the strap on a missing pair of her best friend's panties. At the time of the arrest, it was released that Brittany Zimmermann was strangled as well as stabbed. Yuan (Tracy) Tian had been bound naked, made to lie on the bedroom floor of her off campus apartment, and stabbed repeatedly. Irina Yarmolenko and Nicole Ganguzza were both raped and strangled like Denison. As for exchange student Carmen Gloria Sánchez Gutiérrez, authorities are still determining to this day whether the 36-year-old Chilean woman was murdered. James Biela will not go to trial until mid-2010. |
Meantime, eight student murders either have gone cold or suspects were arrested in two cases, the slayings of Yarmolenko and Ganguzza, and they turned out to be innocent and were later released.
The two suspects in the murder of Irina Yarmolenko were released and no longer considered likely to have carried out her bizarre rape and murder (three ligatures were used simultaneously to strangle her neck, one of them a bungee cord). This leaves the real killer a mystery and still on the loose. Why? DNA evidence proved neither man had come into contact with the body in any way. The only DNA found from the former suspects apparently was left on the car after Yarmolenko was already murdered.
The following slayings of female university students in the United States and nearby Ontario, Canada, in 2007, 2008 and 2009 remain unsolved:
OFFICIALLY UNSOLVED MURDERS: Kelly Nolan, Brittany Zimmermann, Irina Yarmolenko, Rebecca Payne, Nicole Ganguzza, Yuan (Tracy) Tian, Dana Edwards, and Carmen Saldana.
Whether or not these cases are linked only time will tell.
The Zimmermann, Payne, Tian, Edwards, and Saldana slayings were all apartment break-ins by persons not known to the victims. Nolan was possibly followed from the bar she had been drinking at with friends or else was murdered simply because she was walking in an area where she was vulnerable. Yarmolenko was likely followed from the university campus grounds. Ganguzza, on the other hand, may have been the sole homicide victim of a serial rapist stalking in the Florida area. That, however, is highly suspicious ... that a serial rapist would commit one sex slaying and never commit another one again. These people tend to become addicted once they have "tasted blood" so to speak. All of these women could have been stalked, five of them conveniently in their beds or bedrooms when the killer struck, one leaving a bar, another leaving campus, and yet another jogging near her home. Zimmermann, Yarmolenko, Ganguzza, Edwards, and Saldana were raped and strangled. Zimmermann was also stabbed as was Tian. Payne, on the other hand, was raped and shot by the intruder who broke into her off campus apartment. The fact that Payne was a shooting victim is the only glaring exception in these eight cases that appear otherwise linked.
In addition, there are three high profile missing persons cases, two which look like they may have been homicides. Christine Walters, 23, is a Wisconsin University student who has been missing since November 12, 2008. News regarding her disappearance is sparse and infrequently updated despite her community's wish to make this a high profile case. Kristi Cornwell, 38, a law school graduate of North Georgia College and University who was studying for a second degree in Medical Laboratory Technology has been missing since August 11, 2009. Police say Cornwell was talking to her boyfriend, Douglas Davis, on the cell phone the night she disappeared. She sounded frantic, according to Davis, saying a large vehicle was following her, then he heard a struggle, and finally the words, "Don't take me!" Police believe she was adbucted by persons unknown who followed her in a white SUV and gold imported sedan. Most recently is the spectacular missing persons case of Morgan Dale Harrington, 20, a student at Virginia Tech who vanished shortly after walking out of a Metallica concert on the night of October 17, 2009, and was unable to gain readmission. She was last seen hitchhiking on Copeley Road Bridge. There is a $100,000 reward in her case.
A fourth missing persons case has recently been solved and is now a homicide. The skeletal remains of Kelly Morris, 28, whose car was found abandoned the same day her house caught fire, were finally discovered on November 17, 2009, after nearly 14 months of her being reported missing. Her husband, James Morris, has been charged in her murder and, since her alleged killer is now behind bars, her case no longer will be considered along with the unsolved cases ... and will soon be deleted from this page.

Skeletal Remains Found of Missing Virginia Tech Student, Morgan Harrington, 20 -- Police Now Conducting a Murder Investigation, Cause of Death Unknown

Skeletal remains found in a hay field are those of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, a spokeswoman for the Virginia State Police said Wednesday, January 26. The remains were identified based on dental records provided by the victim's family. Police said the remains were found Tuesday morning by a farmer driving a tractor through a hay field on his 700-acre farm. |  |
The area has no public access point, police said. The farm is about 10 miles from where the concert was being held. The farm's owner, David Dass, told CNN affiliate WTVR that he was out looking for damage after wind and rain knocked down several trees in his yard over the past week. He told WTVR that the area is at least a mile and a half from a main roadway. "I looked down and saw what looked like a human skull, and my first thought was that it was Morgan Harrington," Dass told WTVR, adding that he immediately called 911.
The death of the Virginia Tech student has been ruled a homicide, authorities said. "The criminal investigation into the death of Miss Harrington is continuing," said a statement released by the Virginia State Police. "No arrests have been made at this time." The police announcement did not say how Harrington was killed, however. "The cause and time of death are still to be determined by the Medical Examiner," the statement said.

On September 3, 2008, Kelly Currin Morris, a 28-year-old mother of two, vanished from her Stem, N.C., home. The following day, the house caught fire – officials ruled it arson – and hours after the fire, Kelly Morris' car, keys, purse and cell phone were found about a mile away. Over a year later, what was a frustrating missing persons case became a homicide when skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area at a fox hunting club on Sam Moss Hayes Road in Creedmoor on November 17, 2009. Her husband, Scott Morris, was taken into custody and has since been charged with first degree murder in her death. No cause of death (ie, strangulation, fatal stab wounds, etc.) has yet been released by authorities to the public.
Because the killer of Kelly Morris has likely been captured and is now in custody, her case will no longer be associated with the unsolved murders featured on this page. Thus, the Morris case will be deleted in the near future.
Second Ohio Woman Discovered Murdered in Toledo During Month of August 2009, Killer at Large

Cindy Sumner, age 21, went missing
on August 6, 2009. Her body was found September 17 in an
abandoned North Toledo warehouse. Sumner's body was found
wearing a necklace, clad only in a yellow Pennzoil
T-shirt and a bathing suit top. The yellow shirt and
bathing suit top were also different from the clothing
that Miss Sumner's family said they last saw her in. The
day she disappeared, she wore jeans shorts and a shirt
that said "Friendly Center" on the front and
"STAFF" on the back. No cause of death has been
established, but authorities describe the death as very
suspicious. Police are treating her death as a homicide
and continue to investigate any leads. Sumner is the second unsolved murder of a young woman in Toledo, Ohio to have occurred in August of this year. On August 25 the nude body of Jennifer L. Shively was found strangled, arms and legs bound, and weighted down by two cement blocks not far from a Toledo marina in the waters of Lake Erie. The killer or killers of Sumner and Shively remain at large. |

There is a potential lead in the murder of Cindy Sumner. Police filed a search warrant to seize a pair of tennis shoes worn by Elhadi Robbins. He's a 44-year-old sex offender who is in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on probation violations. Cindy Sumner turned up missing in August. Her body was found last month in an abandoned warehouse on Elm Street. Police say a distinct shoe print was found near her body. Homeless people who spent time in and around the building say they had seen Robbins at the warehouse wearing a pair of white tennis shoes. However, at this time, police are not calling Robbins a suspect in Sumner's murder.

It’s been more than eight long months since Dana Clair Edwards’s parents lost their daughter, a vivacious and popular woman who collected top academic honors in high school and college before earning an MBA and entering medical school. Dana was the first Bexar County murder of 2009, found strangled in the bathroom of her apartment in the early hours of January 2, with no sign of forced entry. She was 32. Her 11-year-old Jack Russell terrier, Grit, was missing. Grit’s body turned up almost two weeks later in Olmos Basin. One Year Later, Chilean Exchange Student's Death Still a Mystery, Although Husband Suspects That Murder Was Committed

The state medical examiner's report does not list the cause or manner of Carmen Gloria Sanchez Gutierrez's death, calling it undetermined, state police said. The report indicates she could have died of a possible drowning, but also notes "undefined external causes suspected" (marks on the body). Gutierrez had told a friend that someone wanted to hurt her. Gutierrez briefly stayed with Judy Morris, a neighbor, because she was scared to stay alone. |
The last time she was seen alive, Gutierrez walked up to a house of complete strangers on Herman Avenue near Morgantown and frantically asked for help. The residents said she was speaking broken English and they had trouble understanding her. They said she asked them to call the police and they did. She ran off as a mysterious yellow car drove up, before help arrived. Once she entered the mystery car, the next time she would be seen, she would be dead.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has released a sketch of a man they believe is a suspect in the disappearance of missing Georgia woman, Kristi Cornwell. Investigators from GBI and the Union County (Ga.) Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man in the sketch, who was involved in another attempted kidnapping in Ranger, North Carolina, near Cherokee, NC. |  |
Authorities say the timing and vehicle description involved in the incident indicate a possible connection to Cornwell’s disappearance.
The incident in Ranger occurred on August 2 while a woman was walking along a road toward the Ranger Community Center. The victim told Cherokee County (NC) Sheriff’s Office authorities that a vehicle pulled up behind her and knocked her to the ground and a man got out of the vehicle. The victim said that as the man began walking up to her, another car came up and the man got back in his car and left. The victim, who was not seriously injured, saw the man’s facial profile and also noticed that the vehicle was a silver, late model SUV.
A second woman in Morgan County, Ga. said a man who attacked her in June also looked like the sketch of the suspect in an attempted abduction in August in Cherokee County, N.C. GBI spokesman John Bankhead said Thursday that the Morgan County woman told investigators she was assaulted in June while trying to fix her broken-down car on the side of a highway. Investigators said that they are looking for a white man, in his mid-20s, with dark hair who was driving a silver Nissan Xterra with tinted windows and a brush guard in front.

A man mowing his lawn found her cell phone near where detectives believe she was out for a walk in Blairsville, Ga., when a car pulled up and she was abducted. Police say Cornwell, the mother of a 15-year-old son, was talking to her boyfriend, Douglas Davis, on the cell phone the night she was kidnapped. Davis says at approximately 9 PM, Cornwell sounded frantic, saying a large vehicle was following her. |  |
“Somebody’s coming — I gotta move off the side of the road,” she said nervously. After a short pause, Davis heard the sounds of a struggle, then Kristi's last words, pleading, screaming: "Don't take me!" A GBS agent has since identified a large-size white SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Suburban, and a gold imported sedan as the two vehicles likely driven by Cornwell’s abductors.
Another attempted kidnapping occurred only one town away in Murphy N.C. at 9:30 p.m. -- right about when Cornwell, 38, was grabbed while walking along Jones Creek Road, not far from her home. In the Murphy case, the female jogger said she saw a red Ford Ranger following her.
Kristi Cornwell was a graduate of North Georgia College and University and received a degree in Criminal Justice. She was attending Dalton State College to earn an additional degree in Medical Laboratory Technology when she was abducted on August 11, 2009.

According to witnesses who called police after Harrington’s disappearance, a woman matching her description was seen on the Copeley Road Bridge, which runs over railroad tracks. |

Morgan is described as having blonde hair and blue eyes, 5-foot-6, 120 lbs., and was last seen wearing a black 'Pantera' t-shirt with a black skirt, and black boots.
UPDATE: State
police announced November 13 that they think Morgan D. Harrington
was trying to hitchhike on the Copeley Road Bridge the night she
disappeared, which her father said isn’t something
she’d normally do.
Witnesses reported seeing a woman matching Harrington’s description sticking her thumb out as she looked for a ride, Geller said. “That’s certainly out of character for her and unexplained,” Dan Harrington said Friday. He added, “My take on it is that regardless of that, no one deserves to be abducted or murdered.”
The Harringtons presume their daughter was the victim of foul play, but police have yet to turn up any evidence pointing toward a crime. Authorities are hoping the information will bring in new leads.
The night she
disappeared, Harrington was wearing a Swarovski crystal necklace
with a link motif. Earlier, photographs of a similar necklace had
been shown to community searchers who gathered to look for
Harrington in November.

Friends and family hope she's still out there, embracing nature and taking a break from traditional society. But three months after the Deerfield High School graduate was last seen in northern California, they're increasingly frightened. Christine Walters of Deerfield has not been heard from since November 12, 2008. An incident that occurred on Nov. 12, the last day Christine Walters was last seen alive according to the official reports, leaves many wondering whether something disturbing may have been going on. A call from a rural citizen of Humboldt County said that they found Walters on their doorstep. She showed up without any clothing and seemed to be traumatised. The citizens contacted the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department who attempted to help Walters. Despite questioning, they were unable to attain any information as to what might have happened to her. |
After contacting her mother, she seemed to recover and was ready to return home. “We didn’t think there was any evidence of drug use or mental illness,” said Sheriff Cook. “She was just really frightened.” Two days later (which would have been November 14 and not November 12), she was trying to return home but was never heard from again. Her belongings were found at a spiritual center in Arcata, Cali. The owner of the center claimed this was a common occurrence while Walters was around.
